The playoffs are a super exciting time of the season. You know what makes them more exciting? Giving out a ton of TPE!

Here's how this will work: there are five tasks, each of which is worth up to 2 TPE for putting in a little effort, for a total of 10 possible TPE. You can complete them in any order and do as few or as many as you would like.

To complete all 5 tasks, you'll have to do a mixture of written and graphics work. Don't worry, we don't grade harshly.

ONLY S45 SMJHL DRAFTEES (S46 SHL DRAFTEES) CAN EARN TPE FOR CW TASKS. If you signed after the trade deadline, that's not you.

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

Task #3 - Create a program cover for one of the games in any playoff series.
Must include: logos of both teams in the matchup and at least one player render.

Task #4 -  Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?
Must include: 150 words.

Task #5 - Come up with 3 yearbook style superlatives for 3 different players around the league (players don't have to be from your team). Example: Most Likely to Retire Early, etc. OR make a yearbook style photo of any player from the league and include a player quote and superlative.
Must include: Written - 100 words. Graphic - 1 render and an SMJHL logo.

DEADLINE FOR ALL TASKS: 7 full days after the final PBP is complete,
Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?

Dominic Montgomery (D) raiders --> Slip McScruff (D) Scarecrows

Defence-man McScruff has and an awful regular season, putting up just 18 points, all of which were assists. While you might argue that that's his role in the team, to get a good run at the cup the players need to be providing 110% all of the time, McScruff didn't do that this season. If we look into his playoff stats they get even worse. So far he's only put up 2 points in 10 games played. Not good enough to win a cup. Let's compare this to Dominic Montgomery, captain of the Halifax Raiders. Montgomery put up 9 goals and 23 assists for the struggling east Canadian team, which is more impressive when you consider the current state of the team. He's also massively eclipsed McScruff's playoff performance, putting up 5 goals and 9 assists in just 11 games played.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.

GM's are going to be looking at activity in the off season just as much as they were on the ice. I am going to do my best to churn out media over the break and before the draft. I am also dabbling in creating signatures for some extra money and also to simply pass the time. Basically I will try to build my bank account up as much as I can going into this season, so that I can immediately get all the SHL equipment and training as soon as I can with no waiting. I am also hoping to be able to do some play-by-play threads to push my TPE up just a little bit more so that it's as high as possible when I am called up. With a bit of luck all of this will help push me into the highest draft pick possible.

Task #3 - Create a program cover for one of the games in any playoff series.

Task #4 -  Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?

Round 1 - Anaheim Outlaws v Halifax Raiders

The Anaheim Outlaws snagged game 1 of this series by the skin of the teeth, winning with an overtime #2 goal. The whole league was expecting this to set a precedent for the rest of the season, with everyone completely expecting a game 7 to come out of it. This, to the fan's disappointment, wasn't the case, and the Halifax Raiders went on to win the next 4 games. This could be attributed to the game 2 3rd period goal from rookie Matt Kholin, assisted by Viklund and Morgan. This goal changed the momentum of the series, and while none of the next 3 games were won by a large margin, Halifax maintained the upper hand to move on through to round 2. If Anaheim were to have any chance of winning their first playoff series, some work with their blueliners will probably have been required, so that Soonika didn't have to carry a bigger weight in stopping shots.

Task #5 - Come up with 3 yearbook style superlatives for 3 different players around the league (players don't have to be from your team). Example: Most Likely to Retire Early, etc. OR make a yearbook style photo of any player from the league and include a player quote and superlative.

Task #1

I would choose Mikael Choybuk, the high end Dragons prospect who learned how to win championships from his uncle Michael Boychuk. I would replace St.Louis Scarecrows winger Niklas Fleming with Mikael Choybuk. They are similar built players but Michael Choybuk has the pedigree to perform on the biggest stage, it's in his DNA. I would imagine Mikael Choybuk would have 10 goals and 10 assists by the end of the playoffs if he was on St.Louis's first line in this scenario. I think if anything we could say putting Mikael Choybuk on any team as a winger would prove amazing results because of the type of player he was and how his attributes were refined.

Task #2

Oliver Klozoff comes from the Alex Mack school of hockey. He knows two things, how to get poon and how to play hockey. These two things are at the top of the course curriculum in Alex Mack's hockey school. There is nobody else in the draft that has the poon getting ability of Oliver Klozoff. His name alone means taking women's clothes off. Nobody can compete with that. Oliver Klozoff will distinguish himself on name value alone, but during his cup run, he'll stand out by playing a strong defensive game, focusing on helping his team win those close games. You need defense first players like Klozoff in your line up if you are going to win the cup. He will stand out to GM's based on his name and his play, but he doesn't want to stand out too much because he is only interested in getting drafted by Calgary.

Task #3

Task #4

For this task I will write about my own team, the Montreal Militia's series against Vancouver. We won game one 5-2, then we won game two 6-2 to tie the series. We then got blown out in game three 7-1. That game hurt, but we came back strong to win game four 5-2. Then game 5 was a big one, whoever won that would only need to win one of the next two games to win the series. We played hard but Vancouver beat us 5-3 in that one and then beat us 3-2 in game six to win the series. I think that game 5 was a turning point, if we were maybe a little nervous that game playing on the road. I think if we had won that game we would have went on to win the series. I can't say we could have done much different because I trust out wonderful coach barnabas, but it just wasnt meant to be.

Task #5

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?

Must include: 100 words.

I would take Cassius Darrow from Colorado and slot him into the Crows lineup. He would naturally replace me (Fork Spoon) because I wouldn't want any of the other boys to miss any playing time. He had 19 points in 16 games in the playoffs before his team was eliminated by Detroit. I would expect he could keep up that kind of scoring pace, giving the Crows a little more depth and having a deep scoring threat further down the lineup. He is second in goals in the playoffs, and leads the field in assists with 11. I would expect after the crows sweep Detroit in 4 games, he would put up another 4 goals and 4 assists, being a 2.0 PPG player in the final round, leading the Crows to the 4-star cup!

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

Honestly, I'm not the type of player yet that is a game breaker. However, I know my role and I think I do a pretty good job of it. Being on the 4th line certainly has its difficulties, however I know my job is to go out there, be stout defensively, and show the SHL teams that I have the blood of a warrior. I'll do whatever it takes to help my team win. I'm rarely a minus player, and I think I do a good job of chipping in when I have opportunities. I can also assure whichever team drafts me that I'll be a steal, because I have the guts, grit, and determination to become one of the SHL greats. I think my biggest asset is my locker room presence at the moment, keeping morale high, and building up my team mates when they need it. I also know that with my commitment I will grow into a great player. I'm in no rush to move to the SHL, and I think another 2 years in the J would do me good.

Task #3 - Create a program cover for one of the games in any playoff series.

Must include: logos of both teams in the matchup and at least one player render.

I apologize for how rough this is, I've never tried anything like this!

Task #4 -  Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?

In my opinion, the turning point of the first round series between Halifax and Anaheim happened fairly early on. In only game 2, after Halifax lost game 1 in overtime to a tough to swallow goal, they needed a big win to get back in the series. Matt Kholin scored at the 12:02 mark of the 3rd period to give Halifax the 2-1 lead. Halifax would go on to win the game and the series in 5 games, thanks to the Kholin goal. I think winning this game in that way completely turned the tide of the series after losing the first game. It gave them some belief that they were the better team, and that ended up being true in the end. When there is nothing going right for a team, it can be tough to get things going for your team. Luckily for Halifax, Kholin's goal is what pushed them over the top to win.

Task 5 - Create a Yearbook style Picture

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

I would replace my ex-teammate Oleg Scoreov with my current Halifax Raiders Teammate Jimmy Slothface. Jimmy S. is a great addition to every locker room and its funny to be around him. He could make the players around him better. With a team of rookies his playoff stats aren’t as good as they should be. But with his presence he could make the difference in a final series like Detroit vs. St. Louis. He is liked by the fans and the media too and he could hold away some media stress from the younger, not extroverted players on a team that’s in a juniors final.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

Mike McKorsy wants a mature, funny, locker room like his SMJHL one with the Halifax Raiders. I want to show the GMs of interested Franchises that they will get a mature goalie with his own opinion und who will tell the truth and took care of the team. Mike McKorsy isn’t a superficial player who only says what the others would be happy to hear. His effort he shows on his Homepage. You earn respect not by talking, you earn it by leading with example and doing things. That’s the motto of Mike McKorsy. With fresh ideas (formats like the Halifax Hockey News, Scouting the Goalies, Avatar Shop etc.) it will show the GMs that Mike McKorsy and his Agent Flames1848 are creative work horses. Up in the table TPE-wise and a good build on Attributes its not easy to not draft Mike McKorsy if you need a Goalie in the SHL in the future.

In the Series between the Halifax Raiders and the Detroit Falcons Game 6 was the turning point and the day the Falcons send the Raiders golfing. After a 0-3 trail to comeback to a 2-3 in the series, with every game is an all or nothing game, it was a great effort and a great chance to get to an even series. But in a bad second period with 3 goals against, there was no chance at the end to turn this game and this series around. After this hard games the raiders had not enough energy to beat the falcons there. With only 17 shots on Cedric Robnisons you cant win a game. And with the double on shots against you, there is noc chance too. At the end, the bad start in the series was the real turning point. Against the favoured Detroit Falcons a trail by 0-3 is a deadly series-score.

1. The Halifax veteran, 2-way defenseman Dom Montgomery would slot in instead of Jacob Geza on the Anchorage blue line. While both defenders play a similar defensive style, the Halifax captain had a slight advantage this season over the Hungarian defenseman. Scoring 2 goals and 5 assists over his counterpart, I feel like the Michigan native would bring more help on the back line to support the Anchorage offensive. While he was on top of the scoring sheet for the struggling Raiders in the playoffs, Montgomery would have been a great asset for the Armada to go further in the post season. Also, his locker room presence is undeniable, he brings people closer together and while the requirements for being his friend are harsh, they are so worth it.

2. My on-ice presence speaks for itself, tying for top scoring rookie in my first regular season with 15 goals and 17 assists and 10 points in 11 games in the playoffs. While I wished we had performed better during the off season, it will only make us stronger and hope for a better result next season. I think GM's who they want to pick in the first and second rounds so far, and I hope to be on some of those lists. I'm highly active and I want to bring a good locker room presence in whichever team wants to have me. Going forward I will do my best to do all PTE tasks and training while collecting all the cash I can from graphics. Once the S45 draft class has been established in the SHL, I hope to be a part of a great team and among the top of my class.

4. When Halifax lost 3-2 in overtime to the Anaheim Outlaws in the first round of the playoffs, they held a closed doors players meeting. Things had to change, they couldn't be known for the team that lost in the first round to an expansion team. Captain Dom Montgomery led the charge, calmed his rookie teammates and told them they had what it took to win this series. The games were tight, most of them being decided by a one goal lead, but the meeting definitely helped alleviate some stress the young players had. Game 3 marked a defining moment when the Raiders losing 5-2 halfway through the third period came back and scored 4 goals unanswered to win the game. All 4 goals were their respective player's firsts in the series. Halifax definitely needed all of its players to help in any way they could to overcome Anaheim, and it paid off. They went on to win 4 unanswered games in a row to win the series in

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

The obvious choice is the eliminated Vancouver Whalers backup goaltender Eddy Ask Jr. replacing the St. Louis Scarecrows starting goaltender Aleister Cain. It's a close call between Cain and the opponents starting goaltender Cedric Robinson in playoff stats (when it comes to save percentage and goals against average), but Ask Jr. is even better than the both of them. It's true that Ask Jr. has not played many games and only had two starts in the playoffs, but he outshined the Whalers starter Casimir Stevens when it mattered the most. To replace Cain with Ask Jr. would give Robinson nightmares and the Scarecrows a fighting chance.
  • Eddy Ask Jr., 1-1-1, 0.910%, 2.43 GAA
  • Alesteir Cain, 8-2-0, 0.898%, 2.52 GAA
  • Cedric Robinson, 8-4-0, 0.883%, 3.04 GAA

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

I believe in laying pretty low and let my game on the ice speak for itself. Which will be a bit difficult when you only get nine starts in a season. Although there were multiple times during the season, seven games to be exact, where Casimir Stevens fell apart and Ask Jr was called upon to save the day. I believe that the scouts who are looking at me already know what they are getting. I came over from Sweden pretty late but ever since I got here I have shown up for practice every week and done my best. My aim is set on the SHL and if I'm only in the SMJHL to back up someone else I might as well back up someone else in the SHL as soon as possible. I'd love to be drafted by a team that really believes in me for me and I will do everything in my power to prove them right.

In Round 1 of the SMJHL playoffs the series between the Lethbridge Lions and the Colorado Raptors was very even. Three out of four games ended with just a one goal win, and the last of which ended in overtime. However, Game 2 was different and became sort of a turning point in the series. The Raptors winger Lillie Jacobs managed to find the net after only 48 seconds into the game. The Lions tied it up a few minutes later but after goals from both Daniel Smeb and Eric Vanderberg it was time for Jacobs again. Jacobs scored to close the period at 4-1 and after Nick Novaks 5-1 goal in the second period the Lions were completely destroyed and never manged to get back in the series. After the Game 4 overtime win the sweep was a fact and it's safe to say that the Lions goaltender Patrice Nadeau is still losing sleep over that first period in Game 2.

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?

Parker Smeb from the Raptors is the obvious choice. If you replaced Kit Smeb on the Falcons roster and with him then it's a pretty easy series for the Falcons to win. Parker had 10 points in 16 play-offs games while playing under 7 minutes for the majority of them. Parker Smeb also recorded the only hat trick of the entire play-offs prior to being benched so he is no doubt a play-off performer. All the Smebs have been quoted as saying Parker is the best out of all of them and could play in the SHL today. Kit has 10 points in 12 games while playing 14 minutes more than Parker and having 20 more TPE in his build and getting PP time, so if Parker had that amount of ice-time it wouldn't be shocking to see him with over 20 points by now.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.

To distinguish myself from other players to teams I will be ignoring their GMs PMs and not posting in their interested prospects thread. I get that this is a huge draft but there's nothing I dislike more than getting a auto'd PM from a team that sends the exact same thing to every prospect in the draft with generic questions that are expected to be answered with generic answers. If a team really wants me I'd much rather they message me directly with questions specific to me and my player rather than the generic questions that every player in the draft gets. I also distinguised myself by being the only player to score a hat trick in the SMJHL play-offs. I think besides that I don't really have to distinguish myself from other players. I've built 1 first liner, 1 3rd pairing defenceman and 2 busts, teams should know what they're getting when they pick me.

So the obvious pick for series turning point for me would be game 3 in the Colorado Raptors vs Lethbridge Lions series. Although the Raptors were already up 2-0 in this series the Lions were really pressing and you could see the series momentum start to switch in this game when they went up 3-0 after 1 period. That's when the Colorado Raptors called on their ace rookie in Parker Smeb to save the day. Parker scored a quick goal in the 2nd to make the score 3-1, the score was then made closer by the Raptors scoring again. Parker then scored again in the second to tie the game at 3 before the Lions scored again to make the game 4-3. Jacob Novak scored to even the score at 4-4 before Parker Smeb scored a clutch goal with just 3 minutes left in the third to win the game for the Raptors and complete his hat-trick. Parker pretty much solo carried his team to the W in this game and the Raptors would end up sweeping the series 4-0 because of it.

Task #5 - Come up with 3 yearbook style superlatives for 3 different players around the league (players don't have to be from your team). Example: Most Likely to Retire Early, etc. OR make a yearbook style photo of any player from the league and include a player quote and superlative.

Most likely to retire early: Kit Smeb
When it comes to members potentially being suspended then Kit is an obvious choice. Unfortunately, when we ban a member we auto-retire their player from the sim which is stupid. So once Kit Smeb gets banned his player will have to retire regardless of whether he posts in the "retirement" section prior to the ban or not. Even if Kit were to go inactive for 10+ seasons as a 1500 tpe player his player would still be toiling about in the SHL being taken advantage of by the SHL gms as an inactive with no chance at auto-retirement so why can't the decision to retire be up to the permabanned member as well? It's their career. #justiceforpermabannedmembers

Most likely to be inducted into SHL HOF: Steve-Craig Smeb
Quite frankly we all know what a sham the SHL HOF is. In the past its been known for biased inductions and friends of friends getting in and players who post a lot on the forums getting in over the quieter more sim focused members. We've seen this in the past with Aidan Richan being inducted over Gene Parmesan. With Steve Craig Smeb I am hoping this will all change. Steve possesses elite hockey IQ even if his skills aren't that great. Some say a transition from player to play-coach is imminent for Steve due to his wealth of sim knowledge. Even if the SHL HOF doesn't respect Steve's skills he will no doubt be a first ballot induction into the SmebHL HOF when his career is over.

Most likely to earn 1000 TPE without making 100 posts: Daniel Smeb
As we know, Daniel Smeb is quite frankly the SHL's version of a mouse. 30 seasons into his career people are still arguing over the proper way to pronounce his forum name because he's too lazy to make a post and set the record straight. FTR Kyle-rad sounds so much worse than Kill-rad it's not even funny.  Anyway Daniel has found ways to exploit the SHL for TPE without ever posting and has somehow turned himself into an enigma even though he's anything but. He could easily find a way to get to 1000 TPE without making 100 posts.
Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?

I would pick Nikolai Evans from the  Militia and slot him in place of Slip McScruff from the  Scarecrows Nikolai has been a stud for us on the blueline all year yound and really picked up his game come playoff time by registering 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 playoff games. If the Montreal Militia were still in the playoffs i'm sure Nikolai would continue his near point per game average pace and be a dependable player for us on the blueline. I chose Slip McScruff to be replaced because out of the  Scarecrows defensemen he only has 2 points and a -1 rating while the rest of the D have an even or better rating. Nikolai has been a surprise for us because being a productive defensemen in your rookie year is not a common thing to occur (especially in the playoffs). I am excited to see how Nikolai continues to develop the next few years!

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.

My rookie year in the SMJHL was less than desirable with only 8 points in 50 GP. I know i have a lot of things to improve on and i will continue to improve myself this off-season to be a better hockey player. I want to be an impact player for my team and i know for sure the next season i will be a better playing in the offensive and defensive zone. Defense was something i did not value too much early in my rookie year, but i quickly found out how important it is to be a good defensive player as good defense will lead to offensive opportunities. My defense is currently 70 but in no time that number will rise and so will my player. Passing, Skating and Puck Handling are my strengths so i will focus my points into increasing those stats to be an elite playmaker. Although my team the  Militia got eliminated in the second round, the playoff experience was astronomical for my development and i can't wait to get back into the playoffs to capture the SMJHL cup.

Task #3 - Create a program cover for one of the games in any playoff series.

Task #4 - Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?

I will choose the series between the  Lions and  Raptors Although the Raptors swept the series 4-0 most of the games were only decided by one goal. I would say the turning point in the series would be the Raptors OT win in Game 4. This game was extremely crazy as the Lions held a 3-1 lead going into the third period but the Lions scored 3 goals in the final period to take lead. However, the Raptors scored with 16 seconds left to send the game into overtime. The Lions were giving everything they had with their season on the line. But, Jakub Novak would bury his second of the series at 12:57 into OT to end the series . After the goal was scored the devastation on the Lions players faces was hard to watch as they knew they let the game slip away from them. The 3rd period of this game was the turning point in the series as the Raptors scored 3 goals in this period and swung the momentum in the other direction. Not much the Lions could have done but they fought hard till the end, but losing in OT in an elimination game will sting for a while.

Task #5 - Come up with 3 yearbook style superlatives for 3 different players around the league (players don't have to be from your team). Example: Most Likely to Retire Early, etc. OR make a yearbook style photo of any player from the league and include a player quote and superlative.

Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

Center-Mr. Faceoffs raiders
in place of myself "wannabe" Center- 'Tiger' Wawazat Scarecrows
Not only does this upgrade immediately help the 4th line and increase the chances of both of my line mates RW Fork Spoon and LW Valeri Tikhonov to open up their career stats it allows St. Louis the opportunity to roll 4 lines stronger. In his 11 games in these S45 playoffs Mr.  Faceoffs had 4 goals and 8 assists . Although now playing a smaller role in St.Louis. ( he'd probably see about half the ice time he was accustomed to in Hali. But, I'm sure he'd welcome the opportunity to win a Four Star Cup and get away from the constant yammering of Troy Reynolds. Meanwhile Wawazat kicks back and enjoys the Newest Moutain Dew Game Fuel flavor "Falcon Tears". Projection 1 goal and 5 assists and a 4 Star Cup.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.
By simply being a good teammate and supporting my team as they take the S45 4 Star Cup . With the understandably small amount of T.O.I there's not very likely to be any amazing stats to post for the SHL GMs to marvel at. So with the time I'm given I have to try and utilize every moment of it to help my team (..eg. Instead of looking for that long  breakaway pass you chip it off the boards when your team is up and the 3rd period is winding down ) you do the smart things and think team first.
So it has to come from media and comments and simply by showing that I'm actively engaged in whats transpired. I intend to be a house hold name in the SMJHL in S46. It's a long road that I gotta travel. I have to work hard at my chosen craft and make the transition to this level of competition and then work harder and take any personal achievements that may come as simply signs that I'm on the right track and making the progress necessary to succeed. And if I stumble along the way I just gotta get back up and try again.
It wouldn't surprise me that it starts with a last round selection in the SHL draft. No big deal.

Task #4 -  Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?
Must include: 150 words.
After dropping both games at home (Game 1 a St.Louis win 4-3, and Game 2 a St. Louis 3-1 win) the Kelowna Knights were desperate to revive their playoff lives with game 3 in St.Louis. A strong defensive effort by both teams resulted in a scoreless first period (0-0 ) and only 5 total shots on goal ( St.Louis 4 to Kelowna 1).
As action resumed in the second period. Both teams were still very defensive until Vlad Konstantin took a minor for hooking at 4:23. The Scarecrows Powerplay worked its magic and Basil Magnicotta scored his first goal of the S45 playoffs at 5:42 . By the end of the second period St.Louis had built a 3-1 lead and shot totals were a lopsided 15-7 in favor of the 'Crows.
The third period saw Kelowna rally back overcoming four minor penalties and scoring the needed two goals to tie the game. The tying goal scored shorthanded at the 10:45 mark by Nickolas Klaus.
On to Overtime they went and here's where Kelowna lost their edge and took two costly penalties. The first at 2:45 they were able to survive ..But the second at the 5:58 mark would prove to be too much for the Knights to overcome. At 7:08 of the overtime Basil Magnicotta would score his second goal of the playoffs, and the deciding goal of the game on the Powerplay ...and this was the deciding factor ..the back breaker of this series. The final was 4-3.
St. Louis would win an easy game four by a 4-1 score and clinch the sweep of this Round One series.

"MOST LIKELY TO GET ARRESTED FOR TEXTING IN DETROIT "
"...For the love of all that is holy, you Detroit fuckheads ruin my morning, and now make me have to respond to some bullshit. It has been 6 hours since my day started and all 6 hours have been infested with the rotting infection known as the Detroit Falcons. I have a Greek telling me that women aren’t mentally draining as I sit here in Manitowoc because my lady kicked me out of the house and spoiler alert: still hasn’t responded to my texts........"
Task #1 - I would take Maxime Bouchard from the Anchorage Armada. Anchorage lost in the second round 4-2 to the Colorado Raptors, resulting in the Armada only seeing 6 games of play in the playoffs. Despite only 6 games, however, Bouchard scored 2 goals and 7 assists for 9 points, a rate of 1.5 points per game. In addition to this, Bouchard had a shooting percentage of 12.5%, one that isn't abnormally low but definitely has room to improve. I would slot him into the lineup, taking out forward Kit Smeb from the Detroit Falcons. Smeb plays just 4 minutes less on average per game but has the same amount of points as Bouchard in double the amount of games. Bouchard on the Falcons, would be scoring slightly less as a result of fewer minutes of play, but he would still add much to the lineup.

Task #2 - Unfortunately I had a weak playoff series. Kelowna was swept 4-0 by the St. Louis Scarecrows in the second round. I, myself, received more penalty minutes in the series than I did points. Despite all this, however, I am going to leave a good impression on GM's before the draft. Activity is important in this league and I will show my high levels of activity by continuing to post my weekly-ish podcasts with @goldenglutes (which you can check out here). In addition to posting podcasts, I've started to post media more regularly to stockpile funds so I can afford equipment with ease once the next season begins. Finally, I'm not against creating GFX so that is another way for me to make money. I hope that GM's will be able to see my passion and drive to become a better player, and despite my lackluster performance there is still room for me to improve.

Task #3 - [Image: zrqtDQ5.jpg]

Task #4 - A highly watched series in the first round was that of the Halifax Raiders against the Anaheim Outlaws. Anaheim took the first game after a grueling battle which ended in 2OT. The game was truly back and forth with both teams taking control of the game. The heartbreaking first loss brought life into the Raiders causing them to come back fighting in game 2. Halifax struck first with Perry Morgan taking the lead late in the second on a powerplay. Anaheim tied it up early in the third but Matt Kholin scored his second of the series half way through the third which ended up being the game winner. Halifax goaltender also stood on their head stopping 26 of 27 shots, including 4 powerplay opportunities. It was a tight game, which ended up going in Hailfax's favour. This, in my opinion, brought life back into the Raiders who then went forth to win the next 3 games, ending the series 4-1.

Task #5 - [Image: 6MTBivh.jpg]

"Yea, I can't support this behaviour, but also to the listeners, if you have any podcast questions please let us know so we can not have a shit episode next week"
Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

I would take Cassius Darrow off of the Colorado Raptors and slot him into the Detroit Falcons' first defensive line. Darrow had a playoff run for the ages for the Raptors, tallying an astounding 19 points in just 16 games as a defender. Darrow scored 8 goals and had 11 assists during the Raptors' run to the conference finals. Meanwhile, the Falcons' top point tallying defenseman has just 10 total points in 12 games. Darrow's playmaking ability would serve the Raptors well to cycle the puck and also provide some extra offensive force by being an additional goalscoring threat from the blue line.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

During the run to the cup, Michael Scarn really worked hard. There is not much else to say since he did not tally many goals or assists during the Raptors' run to the conference finals. Scarn had 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 total points over the course of 16 games played. Scarn is built very much to be a goal scorer but did not have much success in the regular season, with just 6 goals in 50 games. This translated to the postseason as well, so Scarn has worked hard to try to adapt his game to be a playmaker. The Raptors need some goalscoring power so I hope Scarn can go back to his strengths, but having to work on his passing and skating will only help Scarn as he enters the pre-draft process in preparation to make the eventual jump to the SHL. Scarn is one of the top players in terms of points earned and applied to attributes. He will continue to work and train hard, and hopes to bring fantastic value to whatever team drafts him.

Heading into Game 3 of the first round in the SMJHL playoffs, the Anaheim Outlaws and Halifax Raiders were knotted up at 1-1. The Raiders had won Game 2 and had a little momentum coming into Game 3. Still, the Outlaws jumped out to a 4-1 lead early on in the 3rd period after Jerry Mander slotted home 4:10 into the 3rd period. Halifax was in danger of dropping their home ice advantage that they had gained previously by winning last game. So, it was crucial for the Raiders to put together plenty of offense in a hurry. The Raiders drew one back to make it 4-2 with over 11 minutes to through a Perry Morgan wristshot. When the Outlaws' made it 5-2 on a McCarty slapshot with 10:08 to go, it looked all but over. But the Raiders then miraculously pulled off 4 unanswered goals, with Troy Reynolds scoring the winner on an assist from Doskocil with 2:29 to go. Halifax eked out the win 6-5, scoring 5 goals in the 3rd including 4 in 7:28 of ice time. Halifax had all the momentum in the series and won Games 4 and 5 to end the Outlaws' season. The Outlaws defense really should've held strong but they may have lost their focus while cruising to an away victory.

Most likely to succeed: Cassius Darrow. I love Big Cass and he is the perfect captain for this Raptors team. He stepped up in the biggest moments, and those moments are in the playoffs. With an astounding scoring record for a defender during the playoff run, Darrow rallied the team around him and provided desperately needed offense from the blue line. Darrow put on some big hits on players from Lethbridge, being a very intimidating force at both ends of the ice. I am certainly not looking forward to facing Darrow in the WJC this upcoming offseason. Darrow is a blue chip prospect and will surely have a long, successful career in the SHL.

Most likely to be president: Knute Knurtsson. I love me some Noot Noot in the Colorado locker room. Knute Knurtsson is one of the hardest working players in the entire SMJHL. He is a true leader, determined to maximize his efficiency on the ice. And, Knute Knurtsson is one of the rising team leaders in Colorado. I am very impressed with this guy's dedication to his craft and his ability to motivate his teammates. He is passionate and a great orator. Moreover, he is a fantastic writer, writing wonderful media about the team and about his own player. Knute Knurtsson is one of the classiest gentlemen in the SMJHL and I look forward to the day he takes his oath as president.

Most likely to live to 100: Nick Brain. Just look at his last name. This guy's last name is Brain, and he is a genius on the ice. Nick Brain is one of the biggest innovators on the Raptors. He is organizing some great content for the Season 46 SHL draft class with a prospect tournament between Team World and Team USA. Moreover, he has had a solid season for the Raptors, taking just 33 hits received on the season. Brain clearly values keeping his brain intact and sharp for his off the ice activity. While everyone goes and throws their bodies all willy nilly, Nick Brain is planning big stuff off the ice and will most likely live much longer than all of us as a result.
Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?
Must include: 100 words.

Given the power of the gods, I would slot Olivier Cloutier into the spot taken by Waffles Man on the Detroit Falcons roster. Waffles Man is a third-line winger, the same as Cloutier, but Waffles Man's game focuses mainly on defensive skills whereas Cloutier has a lot more raw offensive skill, especially in the shooting and skating department. On paper, Cloutier isn't the perfect replacement for Waffles Man on that line chemistry-wise, as Kit Smeb and Marc Palicka are shoot-first, the same as Cloutier, but he's a well-rounded player and weirder things have happened, so it's entirely possible that his presence would give Palicka and Smeb that extra edge to get that line scoring as much as the first and second lines. That extra bit of offense could potentially have helped the Falcons to accomplish those two more wins they needed to beat out St. Louis for the Four Star Cup.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.
Must include: 150 words.

Olivier isn't one for looking too far into the future, so when playoffs started, he put any thoughts of the SHL draft out of his mind and just kept reminding himself to take it one game at a time. Unfortunately, the Armada didn't make it all that far into their cup run, and Olivier didn't make as much of a positive impact as he would have liked. On the whole, Olivier doesn't think he quite lived up to his third-overall SMJHL draft position and just has to hope that SHL team general managers will have noticed his work ethic and won't count his season on the third line against him. Olivier is hoping that some extra effort at the draft combine, in interviews with SHL team management, and in international play will distinguish him from the crowd and convince an SHL team that they should take a chance on him.

Task #4 - Pick a round 1 series. What was the turning point in the series that eventually led to victory for the winning team? Could the opposing team have done anything to turn it around?
Must include: 150 words.

The scene is set in the Halifax Raiders locker room, just before they take the ice for a thrilling game WHATEVER of their round one series. The regular season was a series of downs with a couple of ups for them, but none of that matters now. It's playoff time; this is a fresh start and a new chance to prove themselves against the expansion team Anaheim Outlaws. If there was ever the time for a turning point, it is here and now.

Team captaincy squad Dominic Montgomery, Jimmy Slothface, and Perry Morgan nod at each other from their places in the dressing room. They stand. Perry shouts for the team to listen, and the team promptly does. Dominic clears his throat and says some REAL inspiring shit. We'll never know the precise words that were said, but some rookies might have cried a bit.

And lo, they went out on the ice and won. The Outlaws had no chance in the face of the squad's sheer motivational force.

Leopold Lockhart - Most Likely to Have His Face Frozen in a Smile

The perpetual cheer and chill that emanates from Lockhart's presence is truly unparalleled. He is basically sunshine in a sweaty teen hockey boy's body.

Jimmy Slothface - Most Likely to Have Love Declared for Him

Rumours have been flying about Slothface's good looks, with some sources reporting that none other than Monkey D. Luffy proudly declared that he would definitely "hit that". Does Slothface return the love? Stay tuned.

Peter Larson - Most Likely to Make a Stunning Comeback

Anyone who's met the guy can tell you he works harder than most people. Choking in the playoffs? A rite of passage he will jump right back from in no time.
Task 1:

Lions  Monkey D. Luffy ->  Falcons Kalvins Zvejnieks

From my own team, I would put Monkey D. Luffy on the Detroit Falcons, replacing Kalvins Zvejnieks. In short: the Center depth for the Falcons is, to be blunt, about as deep as a kiddie pool. Regular season wise, Zvejnieks only scored 3 goals... as a 2nd line center. To say that they need help is like saying grass is green. With Luffy in the lineup, It takes pressure off of Raino Kyllonen, while also anchoring the 1st/2nd line. With guys like Donnie Dicks and David Fantobens at his side, the Falcons could have 2 very deadly lines really quickly.

Task 2:

It's no surprise that most of the up and coming draftees are going to attempt to be active during the offseason by keeping up media and such. For me... I'm also gonna do the same thing (hey, don't fix what isn't broken, right?). Of course, the articles I put out will be of above average/pretty good quality, with hopefully some regularity. I'll also use the fact that I'm fairly active in my Discord Locker Room, which I think could be a good draw for some teams.

Player-wise, my numbers aren't too too bad; both the regular season and playoffs, I was at least doing my job. Guys like Scholz are going to be more desirable for their offensive potential, but I believe the fact my player is defensively focused could be a draw for teams that need to bolster their Penalty Kill or defensive lines. That, combined with my player steadily improving each update, will probably be a good combo for draft success.

Task 3:

Task 4:

In the first round, the Lethbridge Lions faced the Colorado Raptors, who would eventually reach the 3rd round. For this series, the Lions did remain close with the Raptors in 3 of their 4 games, but they could never get over the hump to win a game. While there wasn't a real tide turner in this series, there could have possibly been one in game 4, where the Lions managed to get an early 3-0 lead. It looked like the Lions were ready to get competitive, but then...

4. Unanswered. Goals.

This is usually where the Lions would just give up; instead, Eva Lykke Aparjode scored a tying goal with only 16 seconds left. It looked like the Lions had figured out how to get going. They headed to overtime, and then... the opposition scored. After a long defensive battle, the Lions just couldn't do it; it looked like they could turn the tide, but instead, it was nothing but heartbreak.

Task 5:

MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED: Karlstraβe Scholz

Overall, the dude had a great rookie campaign with Kelowna. Even though a) I'm not his teammate and b) I never talked to him before, I wish him the best of luck and I'm very interested to see where his career goes.

MOST "ROASTED" NAME: Jøln DuBølk

Yup, I'm putting myself here. I will always remember draft day for one reason: the guys calling out the picks commented on my name, stating: "That's not how those ø's work" or something along those lines. Then one of my fellow teammates was not too happy about it either, stating that "I just really hate the name".

MOST LIKELY TO START A FILLIBUSTER: Troy Reynolds

If his recent media attention doesn't convince you... I don't know what will. It's truly astounding that he can go on and on about how much something just sucks. That is an accomplishment if I say so.
Task #1 - Pick a player from an eliminated team and slot them into a finals lineup. Who do they replace, why, how do their playoff stats look?

Must include: 100 words.

-I take Anchorage defenseman Johnny Sins to replace Anaheim Defenseman Milo Momoka. The key to defeating the Halifax Raiders is to let them defeat themselves. Having a noted self-employed male model with a talent for seduction in Johnny Sins is sure to disturb the peace, and lead to players like Troy Reynolds losing their cool in key situations, if Sins can insinuate things such as "Hey Troy, I went short side on your girlfriend last night, she said my stick was illegal cause it was so long.". This would lead to Reynolds being in the penalty box for reltaliation instead of scoring game-winning goals. Not sure what numbers Johnny boy would put up but surely they'd be better than the 0-1-1 with a minus-2 that Momoka dropped. Lets be generous and say 2-1-3 +4 because I like the Sinner.

Task #2 - With the SHL draft looming in the shadow of playoffs, tell us how you're going to distinguish yourself to SHL GMs during your cup run.

-What Nick Brain brings to the table that few others do is the stabilizing Power Forward presence every team needs in the middle 6. Someone who has most of the upside of a goon, but has actual hands and skill around the net. Someone who will dig in the corners for the puck, and then dig skates into the ice with furious speed to get back on defence. Someone who can body check and poke check. Heck, he could have the upside of a first line forward, in the same sense that "Tom Wilson but more skilled and less goony" is first line forward material IRL. Make like a save scumming NHL 19 player and gamble on this (Low) Franchise potential winger in the second round of your draft board!
-What StadiumGambler the forum user/agent brings to the table is some sweet, sweet media bux, the savvy of the SHL Draftee Showcase that everyone in the Raptors chat is probably sick of hearing about but will watch anyways, and a Discord reputation that has been described with glowing terms such as "ok" "kinda funny sometimes" "Won't stop fretting over his player's build and potentially getting screwed over by the sim but fine otherwise" and "Who are we talking about again?"

-The scene: The Colorado Raptors take on the Detroit Falcons in Game 6 in the semifinal of the Four Star Cup, down 3 games to 2. Its 49 seconds in, and Jean-Pierre Gay, who promised to make an impact to the Colorado lockerroom beforehand, picks a fight with Franz Cooper of Detroit. They fight to a draw, both benches get hyped cause of the effort, and the ref is like INSTIGATOR PENALTY TO GAY GAME MISCONDUCT GAME OVER FALCONS WIN. Like really guys? Is the SMJHL now in the list of IRL leagues where we have to ask question like "What the **** is a competent referee?" You can't eject someone for what should've been a minor penalty at WORST in the first period of a playoff game! Lets just ignore the fact that Jay Pee Gay didn't start the fight without Cooper's approval first: How does a 2 minute penalty become a game misconduct? What rule was changed to allow this? They do not give out stuff like that in any sport except maybe ringette. At any rate, Falcons run 4 past Yuri Ushakov against a short-handed defense core and win 6-2. Colorado could've prevented this by reading the "revised 10 minutes before the game" rulebook, or by the defense core being inspired enough from the injustice that took place to work as a team to hold off the Falcons. Ushakov may or may not have let in a couple softies as well, hard to tell. A backbreaking moment for the Raptors that sent the Falcons straight to the Cup finals.
