Simulation Hockey League

I've heard back in the day people used to do PBPs of regular season games for cash or TPE or something. While I get that it probably got ixnayed due to the demand and amount of work you ned to do for some PBPs (or whatever the reason was), I think it would be a cool idea to open PBPs up for a couple regular season games at the last day of the year with playoff contending teams (depending on standing positions of course.)

For example, heres the last day of the current SHL season:

Day 84
396 New England Wolfpack vs West Kendall Platoon
397 Toronto North Stars vs Calgary Dragons
398 Hamilton Steelhawks vs Manhattan Rage
399 Los Angeles Panthers vs Winnipeg Jets
400 San Francisco Pride vs New Orleans Specters

So lets say the Pride and Jets (or North Stars and Steelhawks, or whoever) are fighting for the 5th and final playoff berth in the conference, it'd be cool to do both their games via PBP.

Agreed, we need more PBPs because there hasn’t been enough available for everyone who signed up the last few years! Maybe the answer is adding bronze medal games to the WJC/IIHF slot, maybe it’s adding any game 7s, maybe it’s adding a few regular season rivalry games, sort of like the nationally televised NHL games

Well, you're not wrong. This might be the biggest rivalry in the NHL

Totally support. When I signed up and saw games weren't done pbp I was a bit bummed. Don't have to do all but definitely the important ones would be nice.

So yeah, given how things are shaking down in the East maybe we can consider this? Maybe just sim Day 83 tomorrow and then theres a pretty interesting playoff picture in the East for the other games on Day 84 (unless New England loses and the other teams win.)

It's been a real interesting dynamic for a while 4-6th. Would be nice to see them play at, especially with potentially simultaneous PBPs

pbps can suck a fat one but i want my tpe so more pbps
