Regression Curve - King - 08-17-2018

Summary:

Current System:

I looked at a few TPE earners who really stand out in their class

(S39) Karey
288 at the end of season 1.
448 at the end of season 2
608 at the end of season 3.
804 at the end of season 4.
Karey gained 133, 160, 160 196

(S36) DrunkenTeddy
323 at the end of season 1.
520 at the end of season 2.
710 at the end of season 3.
903 at the end of season 4.
1085 at the end of season 5.
1237 at the end of season 6.
1387 at the end of season 7.
1587 at the end of season 8.
Teddy gained 168, 197, 190, 193, 182, 152, 150, 200

Then looking at the top earner from each class and there average TPE per season. (I took the data from my July 28th list, so everyone is like 30 or so TPE higher but whatever)

S40 - 752, 195 TPE/season
S39 - 934, 194 TPE/season
S38 - 1061, 181 TPE/season
S37 - 1214, 176.5 TPE/season
S36 - 1512, 193.7 TPE/season
S35 - 1683, 191 TPE/season
S34 - 1611, 161 TPE/season
S33 - 1760, 160 TPE/season
S32 - 1851, 170 TPE/season
S31 - 2023 (post regression), 188 TPE/season

Elite earners can earn somewhere between 160-195 TPE per season.

To get the ball rolling I'll suggest the following.

11-14th season: 10% TPE loss.
15-17th season: 15% TPE loss.
18-20th season: 20% TPE loss. (Up by 2%)
21-23rd season: 25% TPE loss (Up by 5%)
24th season +: 30% TPE loss.

I like how Karey and I are examples for all your suggestions. Tongue

Personally, I am going to wait to see what regression is like when I'm in it before really weighing in, though I could see having another level of regression above 20% being a thing.

lol I got the data once, then go to lazy to get it for any other players.

So I've heard lol

RE: Regression Curve - ArGarBarGar - 08-17-2018

I can see a system that absolutely destroys a player past a certain point. Will be pretty silly if Esa is sticking around on Calgary's first line five seasons from now.

RE: Regression Curve - WannabeFinn - 08-17-2018

I do think it’s messed up that regression plateaus at a point, an active user could keep a player at 800-900 TPE indefinitely, which is still a decent top 6 F/Top 4 D/starting goalie

Jakarta’s first line*

RE: Regression Curve - DanbyRem - 08-17-2018

GOMHL has the best regression system.

What is it?

Yeah exactly and it can easily happen right now with Esa and Alonzo. Both are at the 900 TPE sweet spot which they could maintain indefinitely.

RE: Regression Curve - Beaver - 08-17-2018

Yeah that's pretty insane, hopefully we can get a bit of a bump in regression.

I vote we don't until I've been here for 90 seasons strong.

That's about how long you'll need to catch me in career points.

We are all Jagr

RE: Regression Curve - Sean - 08-17-2018

What if we get really complicated and add ranges of regression, so we can have the occasional real long careers, or screw someone over.

11-14: 5-15%
15-17: 10-20%
18-20: 15-25%
21-24: 20-30%
25-27: 20-40%
27: 20-45%
28: 20-50%
29: 20-55%

We could make a live stream where we release each players regression and watch the saltiness unfold.
