The Mathias Chouinard Trophy is awarded to the SMJHL regular season’s best GMs. These pairs have served as the backbone for some great teams last season and truly have put together some phenomenal rosters. Without the masterminding of these guys, these teams would not be so fortunate and successful.

Amongst a crop of rookies, fresh faces and recreates, it's easy to see the passion a lot of the SMJHL’s crop of players has to offer, both on and off the ice. The Zach Miller Trophy is given in the spirit of that, and is awarded to the player who has shown the most dedication this past season.

The Quilha Agante is awarded to the SMJHL regular season’s top defenseman, and this is an award that always tends to bring with it some form of controversy. Some like offensive defenseman, some are more partial to defensive defenseman, but regardless of which you prefer, there’s no denying that these players are the cream of the crop!

On the trend of defense, the Brandon Holmes award goes out to the top defensive forward of the SMJHL’s regular season. Goals and assists are nice, we love players who can put up big numbers, but the nominees here are important cogs in their team’s systems too, and it can’t be understated how important they are to their team’s defensive game, away from the puck.

The Ron Bolt award is given to the SMJHL player who is voted by the committee to be the most sportsmanlike! The sport of hockey is fierce, competitive, and a tad ruthless, but these guys bring a class and respect to their game. Their sportsmanship is displayed throughout, from both their on-ice play, to their off-ice personalities!

This one is gonna be a head scratcher..
The Vyacheslav Onoprienko award is given to the player who is found to be the most underrated throughout the SMJHL season. These players are often playing 2nd fiddle to another big player, or maybe a few goals short of a top spot, or maybe they’re a fantastic jack of all trades that brings more to the table than the very top of the leaderboard can quantify! Either way, these players are absolute GOATs in their own rights.
