This season the Detroit Falcons picked a few excellent players in the draft. Including one brand new user to the site (me).  The Preseason is the best way to see how they fit with the team and how the team will do and develop over the season, a little sneak peek of what is to come.

Game 1
The 1st game of the preseason was against the Raptors. They Raptors came out strong in the 1st period with 4 unanswered goals out of 18 shots and one being from a power play goal. 2nd and 3rd period were about the same, the Raptors scored a goal in both periods bring the score to 6 to 0. It wasn't until the final minute of the game that DET was able to stop the shut out with a goal from Walter Ulrich who is in his 4th season. 6-1 Raptors win. 0 and 1 Falcons.

Game 2
This game wasn't too different than the last. The Kraken dominated most of the game with just a few more shots on net than the Falcons. The Falcons won 78% of the FO but that wasn't enough to help them get a few more points on the boards. Game ended with the Kraken ahead, 9-3. 0 and 2 Falcons.

Game 3
The Falcons were the 1st to score this game, but it was short lived as the Battleborn responded with 3 of their own in the 1st period. the Falcons only scored 2 more goals across the game while the Battleborn double the amount of SOG as the Falcons. 6-3 Battleborn won. 0 and 3 Falcons.

Game 4
Detroit Gets their 1st win of the Preseason. The Falcons had the lead for most of the game until the Kraken were able to tie it up with just under 2 minutes left in the game. In OT the Falcons were able to close the game out early with a PPG while also having more SOG than the Kraken. 5-4 in favor of the Falcons. 1 and 3 Falcons!

Game 5
This game had a lot of goals in the 1st period from both sides but with the QCC leading with 4 and the Falcons with 2. Both teams scored 3 in the 2nd period, and in the 3rd QCC scored 2 putting the final nail in the coffin for this game. Detroit is starting to bring things together even though they lost this one 9-5. 1 and 4 Falcons.

Game 6
The Rematch vs the Battleborn, The Falcons were score 1st and held the lead the rest of the game. This was the best the Falcons has played all preseason, They were better in every way during this match. 2-5, Falcons win. Falcons are now 2 and 4.

Game 7
The Final match of the preseason was vs the Grizzlies. This was a very close game with the Grizzlies leading in the 1st period, the Falcons were able to tie it up in the 2nd period. But the Falcons were able to close this one out in the 3rd period by 2 goals over the Grizzlies 1 goal in the 3rd period bringing the score to 4 to 3. This game was very even across all stats. the Falcons end the preseason 3-4.

This wasn't exactly the start the Falcons were hoping for, but they were able to finish strong and with the veterans on the team and the up-and-coming rookie class on the Falcons this year they are looking to have a successful season.
