Another day closer to the draft and another day of hard training for Thor Skarsgard. Today we follow him working with his fellow countrymen Brynjar Tusk.

Brynjar: "Me and Thor aren't just from the same country, we're both from Stockholm. We actually played together back home. So we've trained together before, so today will be fun."

Swedish breakfast usually consists of open sandwiches, possibly crisp bread (knäckebröd). The sandwich is most often buttered, with toppings such as hard cheese, cold cuts, caviar, messmör (a sweet spread made from butter and whey), ham (skinka), and tomatoes or cucumber. Filmjölk (fermented milk), or sometimes yogurt, is also traditional breakfast food, usually served in a bowl with cereals such as corn flakes, muesli, or knäckebröd, and sometimes with sugar, fruit or jam. Porridge is sometimes eaten at breakfast, made of rolled oats eaten with milk and jam or cinnamon with sugar. Common drinks for breakfast are milk, juice, tea, or coffee. Swedes are among the most avid milk and coffee drinkers in the world.

The two cut no corners with their morning meal, loading up on some carbs for there day ahead. Each had two generous loafs of knäckebröd covered in messmör, a special messmör that Thor and Brynjar made together with whey protein. Porridge and muesli were mixed together in a bowl with some Filmjölk.

After that the two loaded up their bags with their pre-workout, branch chain amino acids and a post work out shake.

They start their work out in the weight room, today doing some heavy deadlifts and overhead press. Starting with 10 reps at 30% of 1 rep max, then 5 reps at 35%, 5 reps at 40%, 5 reps at 45%, 5 reps at 50%, and then into working set. With any pairs work out some competition worked itself in. Thor loaded the bar hit two reps, Brynjar matched. Byrnjar added more for a double of two, Thor matched. And the two went on. In the end Brynjar had the last laugh, throwing up a final heavy 1 after Thor's posterior chain was already toast.

Then over head press. Focusing on touching the chest on every rep, explosive up and slow and controlled down. Going for control and speed.

The two hit the ropes and medicine ball for some core work out to end, grabber their shakes and hit the ice.

Since both are defensemen they focused in on purely blue liner drills. Both are about the same size 6'4-6'5 and 230-235lbs (no we did not plan this), and both invest a lot of time in defence, skating, endurance and puckhandling. Thor being slightly more skilled in those assets but Brynjar having a physical element to his game that Thor lacks.

One shoots left, the other shoots right. One is number 6 the other number 9.

The duo spent a lot of time with one on one drills and used an extra guy in the rank to practise defending 2 on 1's. Working on shutting down rushes. Then they moved on to to quick step cone drills to work on their first step. After that they did some puckhandling drills, handling pucks in and out of tight cones. They then ended with a series of raced laps.

Thor: "Right now, pure speed might be one of the only things I can beat him in. *laughs*

Then the two retire for the afternoon meal and nap. Some leftover breakfast is cleaned out and the two enjoy some Surströmming, fermented herring served with boiled potatoes and salad, with a side of Gravlax on crisp bread with pepper and lemon. They hit their nap, and get ready for their next work out.

Brynjar: "Hardest part of the day is waking up for the second work out. *laughs*"

The two head out to the gym and get to their total body circuit. Cleans, jerks, over head squats, front squats and a sprint. Thor insisted this was not crossfit. They play it cat and mouse style, where each sets up on opposite ends of the circuit going in the same direction, if the other person catches you lose if you catch the other person you win.

After a solid 35 minutes of consistent pace, Brynjar turns up the jets and catches Thor from behind on the over head squats.

The two decide to wrap up the day with some scrimmage at the local rink. The two pair together and lock down the opposition for the entire game. Allowing 2 shots and playing 50+ minutes.

Thor: "This is how we Swede's train. We'll see what happens this entry draft but would be pretty bad ass to get to do this every day."
