With their 7th round selection in the S45 SMJHL Entry Draft, the St. Louis Scarecrows selected Russian mobster goalie prospect Billy Sorokin. Despite his questionable history (in that his entirely history is completely unknown an literally nothing but question marks), the Crows seem to think they've found their heir to current top SMJHL goalie and reigning Four Star Cup Champion Aleister Cain. The Crows became enamored with Sorokin through their conversations with the player and his performance at the prospect tourney, where he went 10-10 with an .886 save percentage, good for seventh of the twelve goalies who participated. In Sorokin, the Scarecrows are getting a classic hybrid net minder with exceptional Style Control, Reaction Time, and Hand Speed, although he could you use a bit of work on his skating. Sorokin is excited to begin his career in the SMJHL, and is especially excited about his opportunity to learn behind Cain. "Al is best goalie in league," said Sorokin, "he learn me many ways to stop puck." Sorokin is also incredibly proud to be joining the reigning SMJHL champions and one of the winningest franchises in league history. "Good team pick me, and good team make much good player. So they make me very much good player," said Sorokin of his new home. The league will be eagerly anticipating the development of the new goalie, and is excited to see the potential rise to fame of the next great Russian goalie.
