In this Deep Dive, I want to analyze the roster of my new team, the Anaheim Outlaws. After finishing in the last place in their conference last season with 21 wins and 46 points in 66 games, the Outlaws lost in round 1 in the playoffs in a very close series with 3-4 to the Colorado Raptors. In the regular season, they scored 147 goals, which was the second lowest in the league and they conceded 237 goals, which means that only two teams conceded more goals than them. It looks like the Outlaws could need some help both on offense and defense. But who does their roster in S60 looks like at the moment? I want to note that I’m only looking at the currently updated TPE numbers for each player, so the numbers will change after the update this weekend, especially for the S60 draftees.

Going into the season, Anaheim rosters 3 goalkeepers. Vincent Mietitore is maxed for the SMJHL with 425 applied TPE. Both other goalkeepers are still fairly low in TPE with 230 and 155, although Zhen Roza was just drafted this year and should take the second goalkeeper scot from IA Marcel Laflamme.

In the defense, Anaheim fields an extremely young roster with only S59 and S60 players there. That also means that no players is maxed at 425 TPE, although Sekai Wollker already hit his current cap at 350 TPE and Matej Winters should also be there very soon. There is still some room for improvement on the defensive side, but if the players can stay active, they should have not too much callups in the next few seasons and could become a defensive powerhouse in the junior league.

At center, Anaheim looks stronger with Kaapo Kampainen leading the position group as the only maxed player there. Kawashima and Duncan both hit their cap at 350 TPE and should also be maxed for the next season, when Kampainen might get called up. Additionally, Anaheim drafted with Igor Bursov and first overall pick Stan Din’desque two young centers who will help with their depth at the position.
Last but not least, at winger the Outlaws unforunetaly don’t have a maxed player there. Left Wing Max Müller is currently at 374 TPE and Jack Micro is capped at 350 TPE. Videl Valor and Top Cheddar are both at atbout 300 TPE and should hopefully hit their cap soon in this season. While not having any mayed player, the lowest TPE player at this position, not counting the two S60 draftees High Haschdi and Daniel Merica Jr., has 244 TPE and is still in a decent spot for the junior league.

Overall, Anaheim currently only has two maxed players in their roster. 5 other players passed the 350 TPE mark and 4 of these are capped at this number. Looking at the numbers, Anaheim seems to be still rebuilding and might have some difficulties to compete for the cup this season. They have lots of great young talent though with a large number of S59 and S60 players and could start competing from the next season on.
