Werewolf Game 2

I had so much fun with this. Clearly my eagerness led me to be too active and I'm pretty sure that's why the wolves targeted me? Is that it?

Why did <a href='index.php?showuser=2262' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-34'>Ghost</a> kill Nour? Random feeling?

I had an ominous feeling that I was going to get eaten Night 2 so I spent more time than I'd care to admit composing a message trying to get what I knew out there in case I died but not giving me away as the seer if I didn't. I was hoping that someone would go back and Zapruder this post but I guess I made it too innocuous.

Bastards. I went over all my posts trying to figure out where I slipped up just to find out it was random 😡.[/b]
odam

If you revealed you'd've probably changed the game

But yeah, I don't think I'd reveal until I got at least two

and you weren't completely random per se, you were just the villager with the most reason that wasn't helping cause or sustain the C H A O S of day 2

You were kill-listed (which means you mentioned one of the WW's as a suspect for you) and you were active, but weren't talking anymore.

I felt like being wrong on Ghost warranted me to shut the hell up for a little bit. Plus again, everyone else was being quiet and lame, and that was making it a little less fun i guess. I was hoping me being a little quieter would spur others to take up the mantel, but as you can see, it kind of didn't.

Could we possibly see about upgrading?

Like the roles available and the number possible of each role?

I’m new to these types of games but we can definitely look into it, what would you suggest?

Looking at the categories for and ripping some off of ToS:

For protective roles we have Doc (who have done very little last two games) I think this is just a fluke, but we could add more possible Docs or add the Bodyguard, whom sacrifices their life and as well as killing a possible attacker

Regarding support roles (roles that can offer hints for the village but not pure evidence:
Escort: chooses someone to distract from doing their action
Medium: Can talk with a dead person every night
Retributionist: can bring someone back to life
Transporter: Chooses a target at night, they swap places and if character A was meant to be killed/investigated, then target B gets killed/investigated and vice versa

We're in desperate need of more investigate roles:
lookout: Chooses a target every night, is informed who visits the target
and/or
Tracker: Opposite of the above, chooses a target and is informed who they visit

These aren't suggestions per se, just a conversation starter. One big problem with a few of the roles is that currently we have all of our WWs killing so if an escort block a ww, would that stop the kill completely or just leave one less bite mark? And what about the lookout: if they watch the victim's house, will they see all WWs visit?

One possible solution if get the WWs to determine who will kill along with who will be killed.

I don't know how the other roles would work in this, unless there is a head WW(Alpha Wolf), like a godfather. Possibly a jailor might work though, where he has the opportunity to get Durden to ask his captive 2 questions or something like that. This could also protect his target from getting attacked. The game right now is heavily favored to the Wolves IMO, so something to help the villagers is needed.

Possible roles, adding to arty's suggestions

Vigilante - ability to kill someone of their choice, if they choose a wolf, great, if its a villager, they kill themselves in guilt the following night

Masons - 2 villagers that are known to be good that know each others role as a mason. Basically the same thing as a villager, but they know of one other good player

Adding new roles is definitely interesting, I agree we could use a couple more investigatory roles.

I always felt Jailor was too much power with little consqeuence

As for VIg, we have that in the hunter, minus the suicide, but I think if we'll only have a set number of wolves one shot is enough and we don't need the suicide punishment tbh

Masons are a nice idea but I'd be more interested if they had a bigger purpose, rn they sort of sound like better survivors.

Jailor would have a better effect if we were playing this in real time, like ToS, where you have the 30 seconds to interrogate and decide if you want to execute. I think it would be hard to do in a forum setting like this where not everyone is around. I think having more roles introduced would help our activity though, once someone see's they are a regular villager, it probably takes some of the fun out of it for them.

Unless you are me and just like fucking with people's heads Exercise

What ability do you think masons would have? I think knowing that at least one other person isn't trying to kill you is pretty strong.

Just went back to look at the roles on gomhl, and I feel like some were added?

Incorporating these into the game would be pretty good and definitely solve the issue of have so many villagers and people losing interest

Alpha wolf, doing the dirty work of the kills. If the Alpha is killed, a new wolf takes his place, replaces one of the 4 wolf roles

Escort, definitely a must add if we use the Alpha wolf role. getting lucky and stopping a wolf kill at night is a huge bonus for the villagers and could be the gamechanger for them. Also allows wolves to skip their attack at night, just to fuck with the escort thinking they roleblocked a wolf

Just adding those 2 roles, plus the mason role (I don't think they need any powers other than knowing another good player) would even up the game and bring some more activity. cutting regular villagers from 6, down to 3, and would definitely help with everyone claiming regular villager Smile)
