KELOWNA KNIGHTS VS ST. LOUIS SCARECROWS
FINAL SCORE: ST. LOUIS 4-2 KELOWNA

Kelowna, coming into this game with a thundering win against the Prince George Firebirds, to face the St. Louis Scarecrows who have just come of a loss to the Firebirds, and look bounce back from the loss.

1st period

Opening the scoring, only 3 minutes and 27 seconds in was Geronimo Otto, who came dashing in on Kyle Wahlgren on a great breakaway pass from Trevor Wilson in the defensive zone. Otto had to think quick as he was approaching the goal line very fast. He makes a nice head face, goes to the back hand and buries the puck five-hole.


10 minutes later, Kelowna went on the Powerplay. The Scarecrows weren't having a good time in their own end, as Kelowna fired shot after shot after shot. Finnaly, the Scarecrows caught a break as Kelly Rivet settleted the puck out. As he was going to clear the puck, he saw Jason Visser at the point looking like he had a chance. Rivet dised the puck off the half boards, starting a 2 on 1 with Visser and Kurczewski sprinting down the ice. Kelowna defense were closing in on the 2, and had Visser covered. Visser in desperation threw the puck towards Kurczewski and Kurczewski sniped the puck past Knights goaltender Charlotta Caspari.


2nd Period
The 3rd goal of the game Rhaegar Targaryen at 10:15. The Scarecrows were cycling the puck in the zone. Danny Foster had sauced the puck over to Joe Kurczewski. It seemed as if he was going to one-time the puck, but instead he dished the puck quickly back to the point, where Targaryen took the puck and clapped it past everyone.


The 4th goal of the game again from St. Louis only barely a minute after the 3rd goal of the game, again by Joe Kurczewski with a tipped goal. Targaryen and Danny Foster were cycling the puck at the point, until Foster finally decided to shoot. His shot was going well wide, but got a lucky bounce off Kurczewski and into the back of the net.


The Scarecrows scored again, extending their lead by 3 with a 4-1 lead to Kelowna, this time on the powerplay. Kelly Rivet sent the puck towards Dick Dastardly, and Dastardly one timed it passed the young Knights goaltender, for is first SMJHL goal.


3rd Period
The Knights made a last push to try and close the Scarecrows lead, but they never managed to do it. Around 3 minutes into the 3rd period, the fashion twins back at it again with a fantastic goal. Vasily Horvat sends the puck down towards Geronimo Otto. Then Otto send the puck towards Trevor Wilson, streaming down the slot. Wilson controls the puck, then dangles around DarryL Landry and snipes it past Kyle Wahlgren. It was great effort to comeback, the the Scarecrows won the game 4-2.


Three Stars Of the Game

1) Joe Kurczewski (STL)
Kurczewski put on a fantastic show for St. Louis today. He put up 2 goals today, along with another assist. Great show put on my the player.

2) Rhaegar Targaryen (STL)
He had put up 2 solid points today, 1 assist and 1 goal. He was also a plus 3, and had 6 shot blocks.

3) Geronimo Otto (KEL)
Otto was easily the Knights best player today. And so was Wilson. Otto had scored a beautiful breakaway goal to open the scoring, and also assisted on Wilsons fantastic goal.
