<b><u><div align="center">Game Summary</div>1st Period</u></b>
The game got off to a fast start as the Knights struck first, just 78 seconds into the contest. An errant breakout pass from Detroit's Tremaine Versace, stolen by Alex Light, led to a prime scoring opportunity. Light sent the puck across to rookie winger Cory Knouse, who dropped it back to Samee Iqbal, who completed the cycle by giving it back to Light for a one-timer. He missed the net, but Iqbal was able to retrieve it for a chance of his own. He missed the net as well, but this time Light retrieved it & stuffed it past the goalie McSieve for his 12th goal of the season, giving Kelowna an early 1-0 lead.

2nd Period
There would be no more scoring until late in the 2nd period when Detroit finally responded with a goal of their own. The Falcons were able to pin the Knights deep in their own end & setup their offense. A shot from the high slot by Joey Ryan, blocked by Cara Hohenberg, led to Detroit's Alexis Metzler picking up the puck at the point. She ripped one towards the goal & beat Aittokallio high glove-side, tying the game at 1.

After tying the game, Detroit's luck would continue as, less than 2 minutes later, Kelowna's Vasily Horvat & Lykke Bergfalk both took minor penalties, giving the Falcons their first 5-on-3 opportunity. They wouldn't waste the chance, as just 18 seconds after the 2nd penalty, they would capitalize. After retrieving the puck in their own end, Detroit started on a rush led by Metzler. After gaining entry into the offensive zone, she moved the puck up to Kyle Kylrad before getting it right back for a one-timer. She fired it towards the net &had it deflected off teammate Terrance Nova in the high slot to beat the goaltender, giving the Falcons their 1st lead of the game.

That wouldn't be the end of the scoring however as the Knights would battle back late in the frame. With just over a minute left, an untimely hooking penalty assessed to Wiljian Zjang gave Kelowna a chance to tie it just before intermission. With just 30 seconds left, Alex Light retrieved the puck in his own end & led the rush up ice. He tapped it off to Trevor Wilson in the neutral zone before flying around the Detroit defense, taking the return pass in stride for a breakaway, and beating McSieve for the 2nd time in the game to tie it up at 2.

3rd Period
The 3rd period got off to a quick start with the 1st goal coming in just the 4th minute. A steal in the neutral zone by Kelowna's Michael Burrows led to the scoring chance. He sprang Horvat into the offensive zone before receiving the return pass & firing a wrister over the shoulder of McSieve to break the tie.

That lead wouldn't hold up though as the Falcons were able to come back yet again. A roughing minor against thr Knights' Lykke Bergfalk led to Detroit getting their 4th power play of the game. Directly off a faceoff win by Josh Merica, d-man Jari Sinikka fired the one-timer just inside the post, beating Aittokallio to retie the game at 3.

That same score would hold up over the last 7 1/2 minutes to take the game into overtime for the 3rd day in a row.

3rd period shots: DET 9, KEL 7

Overtime
Just over a minute into OT, the Knights got a chance to setup their offense with Alex Light gaining entry into the offensive zone yet again. Looking for the hat trick, the league leader in shots fired it towards goal, but missed the net. A friendly bounce off the end boards gave Geronimo Otto a chance, but his shot was stopped by McSieve. Trying to redeemn himself, Lykke Bergfalk picked up the puck & fired it, but he also missed the net. Again picked by Otto, he handed it off to Light before getting it right back. He sent it across to Adriana Starosta, drifting towards center, for a one-timer. She fired it on goal & over the shoulder of McSieve to give the Knights their 3rd straight win over Detroit.

<div align="center">Turning Point</div>For tonight's turning point, we go back to late in the 2nd period. Detroit had scored twice in 2 minutes & looked to take a 2-1 lead into intermission, but a late penalty to Wiljian Zjang gave Kelowna a power play opportunity. A breakaway goal by Light sent the game into the 3rd period tied at 3.

<div align="center">3 Stars of the Game </div>3) Alexis Metzler (DET)
Metzler made a huge impact in this one for the Falcons, scoring the tying goal in the 2nd period & following that up with an assist on the PP goal that gave Detroit their first lead of the game. She also tallied 2 shot blocks & earns tonight's 3rd star.

2) Jari Sinikka (DET)
Much like his D partner Metzler, Sinikka played a crucial role in Detroit's game, assisting on the Falcons' 1st goal of the game & scoring the game-tying goal late in the 3rd. He too blocked a pair of shots & earned tonight's #2 star.

1) Alex Light (KEL)
There's no denying the impact Light had on this game for the Knights, scoring a pair of goals & assisting on the GWG in overtime. He also added to his league-leading shot total, firing 5 shots on net. By a landslide, Light earns tonight's 1st star honors.
