Game Link

Welcome fans to the post game show. Tonight, we'll be covering the 64th game of the season. This one was held between the first place team and the last place team in the SMJHL. Unfortunately for the Firebirds, tonight was a complete blowout by the Scarecrows.

Paddy Kane-Riellyand Johnny Pogchampion dominated the faceoff circle tonight with a combined 26 faceoff wins.

I would've thought PGF would've been able to get a couple more shots on net, but that wasn't the case. Though, the Firebirds' Jamie Bryan showed up tonight with 7 shots. 1/3rd of the team's total shots produced.

While, St-Louis took many shots tonight, it could've been more had it not been for PGF's amazing 13 blocked shots tonight compared to the Scarecrows 8.

St Louis brought some physical presence tonight and all players on the Scarecrows combined accumulated for a total of 20 hits and still managed to stay out of the box. The Scarecrows only spent 4 minutes on the penalty kill tonight.

1st Period

Steve McGirthensons managed to secure the very important first faceoff win against Paddy Kane-Rielly in neutral zone.

A couple of bodychecks at mid ice saw the puck turnover a couple of times in the 1st minute, but in the end, the Firebirds still came out with the puck and rushed into St Louis' zone where Jill Jellybeanov managed to get a shot in to only be stopped by Friedrich Schmidt without a rebound.

A minute and a half later Brady McIntyre manages to get St Louis on the board. Right off the faceoff win, McIntyre takes a shot and snipes it past Benjamin Blue.

10 seconds after a faceoff in the neutral zone, a fight breaks out. Doug Dimmadome and Daniel Karlsson go at it. Karlsson however, did not come out victorious and lost a couple teeth.

At 5 and a half minutes into the 1st, Tony Snow comes in clutch for St Louis and secures them a comfortable lead with his goal off the faceoff.

8 minutes later, St Louis won the faceoff in PGF's zone and the Scacrecorws kept the puck in their zone for 30 seconds before Matěj Eliáš found a way to roof it past the rookie netminder, Blue.

2nd Period

This period was awfully quiet for PGF as they only managed to get in 3 shots the entire period.

St Louis on the other hand, dominated this period with 9 shots. However, even with so many shots taken, they couldn't get the puck past the Firebirds' rookie netminder.

3rd Period

The most even period between both teams. Both were tight in shots with only 1 shot separating the two. Both goalies stood tall in the 3rd. Though Peter J. Walker of the Scarecrows still got himself a goal close to the halfway point of the 3rd

Three Stars

Scarecrows Tony Snow is the 1st star of tonight's game. Finishing the game with 1 goal and 2 assists. Snow was also vital to St Louis' penalty kill tonight, helping kill off both of theirs.

Scarecrows Friedrich Schmidt managed to come out with a shutout tonight which is why he's the 2nd star. Stopping every single one of PGF's 22 shots he faced.

Scarecrows Daniel Karlsson is my 3rd star of the match. Karlsson only managed to get an assist tonight but he was a great help defensively. Daniel was a +5 tonight and was on the ice for half of St Louis' penalty kill
