Knights  vs.  Scarecrows
GAME LINK

The puck drops and the action gets started between the St. Louis Scarecrows and the Kelowna Knights. The crowd is especially loud this evening.

First Period:

As the game progressed the St. Louis Scarecrows seemed to be getting the better chances. Just two minutes into the game Nicolas Fleming would shake Casey Matz off the puck with a hit and attempt to score shortly thereafter, but Scott Foster was there with the save. A few minutes later into the period Scott Niedermayer Jr. would lay Nicholas Williams out with a center ice hit before going offside. It was definitely getting chippy at this point. No goals were scored  in the rest of the period and shots ended up 8 to 5 in favor of the Crows.

Second Period:

The second period began and it seemed as though some words were being exchanged on the ice. Nicky Pedersen Jr. and Sanyi Koesis both took minor penalties for hooking and slashing respectively after a scrum spontaneously broke out. This seemed to be exactly what the Crows were looking for though as they generated chances one after another soon after, capped off with a slap shot clapper from Samuel Jalopski manning the blue line for the Crows. Assists would go to Nicholas Williams and Gordie Maple. The Kelowna Knights were not giving up though. They killed off two penalties in a row and subsequently tied the game with a nice goal from Nikolas Klaus after they ended up with a power play of their own. As if this effort wasn't enough they would score an even strength goal squeaked between Willis Vincent's pads minutes after off the stick of Oliver Dahl. 2-1 Knights.

Third Period:

Casey Matz would take another penalty a minute into the period, leading to the Knights putting on a good penalty killing performance. Slip McScruff would take a penalty as well and roles were reversed for a short while. The St. Louis Scarecrows finally seemed to come alive and put some shots on net but Scott Foster was determined to snuff out their flame. Scott Niedermayer Jr. would take a key penalty though, and because of this the Crows were able to score a power play goal thanks to Jerry Larry thirteen minutes and fourty two seconds into the period. The assault was continued in favor of St. Louis but the score remained 2-2 at the end of the period. Overtime action was on the way.

Overtime:

Just twenty one seconds into the overtime action Vlasislav Konstantin would rip a puck at Willis Vincent who would give up a rebound which was leaped on by one Shouta Aizawa. 3-2 Knights. The Knights celebrated their victory after a very tense and evenly matched game.

Final Score and Summary:

Knights 3 - Scarecrows 2

The St. Louid Scarecrows probably felt that they were cheated out of this one. Getting to overtime and losing within 30 seconds is a tough pill to swallow, but on the other hand this was a great victory for the Kelowna Knights.

Three Stars:

3rd Star: Scott Foster

Some people just don't train, man. That's the deal with this boy Scott Foster. He's an enigma in the sense that he shouldn't be anywhere near as good as he is with the off ice habits he is known to have. What are you going to do about it though? He put up insane numbers tonight with a save percentage of .949.

2nd Star: Vladislav Konstantin

As a sniper you're primarily looking to generate some goals. You'll never be mad with a three assist performance though and that's exactly what Vladislav Konstantin produced tonight. He also put up two shots and one hit in just over twenty two minutes of ice time.

1st Star: Shouta Aizawa

Shouta Aizawa plays a two way game and he definitely showed that style off tonight. With one goal and one assist he led his team in this victory, no doubt. He also recorded a +2 rating and had one hit and one blocked shot along with winning over 50 percent of his faceoffs. There's not much else you could ask of him.
