You could tell the organization was growing stale with Murray.
As a person, he's awesome. I love that he gave more info on things than most GMs would've, etc.
But when you REALLY look at his moves, its not the best. I mean, look at his defense, its garbage besides Risto and McCabe.
Gorges? Bogosian? Franson? Blahhhh.
Kulikov wasn't great this year either, but i think that's because he was hurt the whole year.
Too many high priced players that didn't really work out. And he failed at getting McDavid. (kidding).

The last point is shortsighted WHY IS EDMONTON BETTER THAN US?! They play in a shitty division, were basically gifted their team and have been far shittier than Buffalo for longer. Seeing Toronto and Edmonton do well shouldn't be reason to fire management, because the only reason Edmonton and Toronto are doing well now was because of prior shitty management who made it so it'd be near impossible to fail with the assets they were given.
