The 8 rookie tasks are as follows:

1. Create an update page

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid2988369

2. Claim an activity check

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid2988372

3. Buy a week of training (or claim free first training for first gen players)

https://simulationhockey.com/banktransac...p?id=61586

4. Complete a PT (“Your first PT” and the "Rookie Survey PT" do not count)

- Please link to the claim thread of a PT you are submitting for this instead of linking the PT itself. We hope that will make tracking and verification easier on the recruitment team and keep us from being the determining force on what is or is not a PT or counts as a PT.

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid2988371

5. Create a graphic and post in the weekly submissions forum of the graphics thread found HERE

- Please put that this graphic is a "Rookie Task Graphic" in the title of the thread. Every graphic that is submitted as a rookie task graphic will receive a base payout equivalent to a grade of .5 / 5 on the graphics grading scale for 125k. With the 1M received for doing this task we hope this mitigates that payout and also makes things much easier on the graphics team. By labeling it a "Rookie Task Graphic" as well you will not use your 1st time graphic bonus.

If you do not label the graphic with "Rookie Task Graphic" then you will be submitted to normal grading guidelines and will use up your 1st time graphic bonus.

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid2990282

7. Watch an SHL or SMJHL stream on YouTube

-To verify, please do one of the following and post it in your rookie tasks claim:

Write 150 words about the games that happened during the stream

Create a 2-min podcast about the stream

Create a graphic about your favorite part of the stream ( please post the graphic in the rookie task claim thread and not as a graphics submission)

I just watched my first shl stream. The first thing that I am impressed with is the schdule. Seems like there are games almost every day which is awesome. I won't catch all of them, but it is so nice to have something to look forward to if I am free. As for the actual stream, I love the look and lay out of the stream. I unfortunately got completely lost as far as following the action. It reminds me of when i first watched ISFL streams. I just couldn't keep up. I know a lot less about hockey than football so it will take some getting use too. I did score my first points of the season which is pretty cool. Watching a stream honestly made me want to pick up a copy of the sim for myself. Seems like a really cool game and once i get more use to the play by play I will really enjoy watching as much streams as I can.

7. Watch an SHL or SMJHL stream on YouTube

I watch most streams live, streamers could aknowledge but heres a review of february 15th SMJHL stream. It started later, around 6 pm since the streamer had an issue I believe. The raptors played 3 games. The first game was against the citadelles. We got into a tight match and i was scared because they had just beaten the Timber 7-0 or something like that. We held our end on a tight 3-3 game, went to OT, and won in the shoutout. It felt great as we were having a relatively slow start to our season

Next game was against the Vancouver Whalers. We were high on our momentum and we again held the door closed to a loss by going into overtime on a 1-1 score. This time we won by a swift goal from Noel Blanchet. the locker room was vibing on his clutch prowess.

We ended the sim day against the Nevada Battleborn, our close rivals.  This time the score was tight again but a bit higher than against the Whalers. The trend of the day was OT' and OT we had on a 3-3 score. The hero of this game would again be determined in shoutouts. Captain Ruggsy carried us to victory and on this positive note the Raptor's season took a new turn, for the best of course. (222 words)

This was my first ever game in goal and I can tell you that it did not go well at all. St Luis headed to Anaheim to face the outlaws which is always a tough ask. The game started but 17 seconds into the game on the first shot from Tirrell Anaheim scored. St Louis were able to even up the score with a period of pressure leading to an Ayers goal. Unfortunately within the next 2 minutes Anaheim where able to get 2 more goals with a series of frantic attacks with Kampainen and Hagan finding the net. It was at this point I was removed from the game. There was a pause in goals after the goalie swap but before the buzzer Anaheim got 2 more from Rose and the rookie Videl Valor. The 2nd period was much better with St Louis getting 2 goals from Dobrovsky and Fedorov making the score now 3-5 heading into the 3rd period. The 3rd period was not good with Burke getting 2 further goals for Anaheim and Doom 1 for St Louis 1 for Anaheim meaning it ended 4-7. Not the way this bear wanted to start his career.

7. Watch an SHL or SMJHL stream on YouTube

I try to watch all streams, if they start normal for me. But I always looking forward to watch my games. I will talk about yesterdays two my games against Detroit and Anaheim.

Had great game against Detroit. Got 1v1 opportunity against Detroit keeper. Stefansson got puck and he gave it to me and i scored my second goal of the season. I think it was very important goal, because till then game were very intense. After that goal game was intense too but it was easier for us because we had 1-0 lead. Start of third period was great from us Petrov and Fuchs scored fast two goals and we knew it was over. 3-0 victory and once again Tendy had great game in goal, deserved first star of the game. I was shocked to see myself at second star. Maybe i got second because my goal gave some advantage.
Against Anaheim was interesting too. Although i didnt got any points team did great job. Two goals from Salvatici helped, especially after first periods first half where Anaheim attacked alot (11-3 in shots). Second period was much better from us, we attacked more, but we allowed goal, thank God Pihl scored at the end of period and we felt much comfortable with 3-1 lead going in to third period. Third period was ours to loose and we attacked, outshot Anaheim 16-9. About six minutes before end of game Pumpkins scored fourth goal and winner was clear. At the end we won 4-2. Personally for me game was fine.

NOTE: Just now seeing this! Thanks for the note @leafs1997.

The Season 58 SMJHL Entry Draft show was hosted by @Halkohol and @Sopath this past Sunday on YouTube. The hosts prevailed over technical difficulties to entertain an audience that was more than 100 users strong in the earlier rounds.

The Newfoundland Berserkers Berserkers held the first overall pick and wasted no time selecting defenseman Aleksandr Balcers. The pick was leaked to the audience before the draft card could be shown, but Halkohol and Sopath didn’t allow the mishap to deter production. The hosts commented on the number of mock drafts that were instantly “ruined” by the selection of Balcers. Halkohol, a big Newfoundland fan, was excited over the pick and stated, “lets go win the Four Stars Cup”.

A trade was made with the Carolina Kraken Kraken for the 2nd overall pick.  The Colorado Raptors Raptors traded picks 11, 43, and a 2nd round pick in Season 59, selecting Russian left wing Fedor Sotakov. The move was shocking to most of the audience; Sopath called it “very interesting”. Colorado again found themselves on the clock and selected KEKW Kekkonen with the 3rd overall selection.

Next up were picks so rapid-fire that the production struggled to keep the pace. The Anaheim Outlaws Outlaws selected 4th overall, opting for Ryuuji Kawashima. Then at 5th overall, the Maine Timbers :timbers: selected Miguel Hefeweizen. The St. Louis Scarecrows Scarecrows were on the clock at 6th overall and selected Ethan Bouchard. Sopath was the least bit surprised by the pick, commenting that Bouchard was “probably a future Hall of Famer”.

Following a short discussion about the Scarecrows logo by the draft hosts, Colorado was back on the clock, selecting Angus McFife XVIII at 7th overall. McFife is an interesting prospect who Halkohol claimed Newfoundland “scouted heavily”. At 8th overall, the Detroit Falcons Falcons selected Sanzhar Molochtovoi, a prospect that was still in transit to the United States. “Sanzhar is asleep right now…no big celebrations”, Halkohol commented.

At 9th overall, the Vancouver Whalers Whalers selected winger Alexis Saint-Michel. The hosts reminded their audience that Vancouver is only “two years removed from winning the Four Stars Cup”. Sopath went further, lauding the Whalers as a “quality organization…going back to the days when drunken teddy was GM”.

At pick 10, the Quebec City Citadelles Citadelles selected Shane Duffy Jr. Sopath spoke very highly of the Citadelles logo, calling it a “clean logo”. Halkohol then admitted he had no idea “what a Citadelle is”. Word has the producers later informed the hosts that “Citadelle” is the French translation of “Citadel”, an English term used to describe landmarks.

The Carolina Kraken Kraken finally made their first pick at 11th overall, selection centerman Daud Ramza. Ramza appeared in no mock drafts, a fact triggering the draft hosts to briefly discuss how most mock drafts are “copies of another that often turn out in tragedy”. Getting back to Carolina, Sopath lauded Carolina’s locker room for being conducive to new players. “[Carolina’s] locker room is among the most active in the league”, said Sopath.

Rounding out the 1st round was the Anchorage Armada Armada selecting defenseman Jay Sink. The pick was briefly announced in blunder as Sink’s draft card was adorned by the Newfound Berserkers name and logo. It was an honest mistake that Sopath attributed to the similar color scheme of both teams.
