It is a strange season for Dean Rudolph Colt, one that has started without him donning his normal green, black and white for a steely blue and grey outfit. That's because Dean is now in Hamilton, playing for the Steelhawks, and even more foreign is ths fact he hasn't lined up at center in any of the eleven games that the Steelhawks have played so far, save for on the penalty kill. As well as not lining up at center, we also see Dean playing the blueline on the powerplay, a decision by Tanner after seeing Deans strong defensive play. Wearing what last season would have been another teams jersey and lining up on the right wing, the position that Dean was originally looking to play upon entering juniors before switching to center, the season has been straight out of the twilight zone, but that's without even bothering to look at his stats which does or will say one of a couple things. Preseason is useless for gauging regular season success. That irony is something Simon Tremblay set the sim to recognize in that Dean isn't supposed to be able to hit the net, or that possibly and least likely, we may finally see Colt turn it on and up. Now let's talk about that irony, which you can find fairly easily on the goal scoring leaderboard. Yeah, that's right, Dean Colt, of all players, is second in the goal scoring race, only one behind Adam Kylrad, with seven in eleven games. What makes this even more impressive, is yes, while preseason is a bit skewed this would have Dean putting up a goal more then his entire Season 26 production in only a fifth of the games putting him on pace for around 34 goals. Not only that, Dean has been more then a little ornery and willing to drop the gloves and get a bit rough, having already gotten in two fights in preseason. The goals, of the seven, three have come on the powerplay, where Dean is manning the blue line and providing heavy cannon shots from the point that apparently scare the opposition into not blocking the attempts. When traded, he spoke to his GM, Tanner, on what his role would be, stating he would play any position as needed but would like to be the nod during the penalty kill for his ability to win draws when the team needs it and create offense being a man down, which came against Los Angeles with Dean setting up one short handed goal and scoring another himself in a 5-3 win. Currently on a four game goal scoring streak, one of the longest currently as well as a league high five game point scoring streak, the preseason is looking quite good for Hamiltons newest addition. Will this carry on for the rest of the preseason, let alone when the games matter? We'll have to wait and see and have another look once those games have been decided. For now, all Dean can do is hope.

Colt, because it is a well known gun with high precision in shooting. Something Colt shouldn't have but...STHS... 45, also tribute to Duey, one of my fav peeps on here. Please come back <3 But the Rudolph is a play on the red nose you get when drinking.
