With Postseason getting under way I was thinking about what it would look like for teams this offseason with contracts that are expiring.

Buffalo Stampede - 32 Million in Cap Space Next Season

(S39) Finn McCool - Left Wing - 192 TPE

About to head into his 9th Season, Buffalo has not signed him a new contract yet. Inactive, but 192 TPE. Depth piece at best his contract looks like a 500,000 deal for a 1-Year, but Buffalo doing a deal with Finn McCool is a different scenario if they have the Cap Space to sign him.

(S39) Konstantin Kostoyevskiy - Right Wing - 235 TPE

Much of the same thing, Konstantin has been inactive for over a 1 Year, and 5 Months. He would sign much of the same contract of 500,000 if they do so sign him, it will be a 1-Year Deal.

(S31) Alexis Metzler - Defenseman - 1374 TPE

Alexis has been known as the best Defenseman in Buffalo for a long time now. Last season he signed a Rental deal of 1-Year for 5 Million. Speculation is he wants more to stay now that they have a cup under their belt. One of the Best Offensive Defensemans in the game as he had 31 Points (5 Goals, 26 Assists) in 48 Games so far. The Unrestricted Free Agent might put up a fight with a Buffalo offer, but further to be seen here soon.

(S33) Charles Walker - Defenseman - 1216 TPE

Charles Walker signed a 1-Year 4 Million dollar deal last year with a No Trade Clause listed as 1 Team. Charles Walker also a upcoming Unrestricted Free Agent might sign a Long-Term contract that could come at a hefty price. Charles Walker also known as the other half of the dynamite Pairing of Walker, and Metzler. Charles Walker might walk on Buffalo to head to another team if it does end up going bad.

(S37) Connor Tanner - Defenseman - 1244 TPE

Recently traded to Buffalo as a rental. Buffalo could try and sign him to a contract of 4 Million Dollars, but with all of the Defenseman that Buffalo has to sign it looks like he might be the odd man out when it comes to all of the contract signings. Connor Tanner might go back to Edmonton after the season ends.

(S38) Tatu Makela - Defenseman - 1732 TPE

Probably the best Defenseman in the SHL at this moment coming in at a discounted deal to stay with Buffalo last year at 3 Million, Tatu might be looking for a long-term contract that is worth over 5 Million Dollars AAV, which might put Buffalo into some cap troubles when it comes to signing the other defenseman on the roster. Tatu came in with 32 Points (7 Goals, 25 Assists) in 48 Games this which likely places him at a 6 Million-8 Million Dollar contract that could get a Hippo Passamus type of Term on the deal.

(S39) Fjorm Lyeskov - Defenseman - 155 TPE

A depth defenseman for the Buffalo Stampede, he has kept the team from going over the Salary Cap, and will likely stay for the League minimum contract of 500K. He played all 48 Games with no effect on any games in any way, so he most likely will do the same thing next year as a depth piece for the team.

(S39) Patrick Brumm Jr. - Defenseman - 480 TPE

PBJ was acquired in a trade, he will be on a league contract of 1 Million Dollars if the Stampede do decide to sign him a contract this season, it will hopefully become one of the easier signings of the offseason for them.

(S45) Cassius Darrow - Defenseman - 942 TPE

One of the best young gun defenseman in the League, Buffalo will probably try to re-sign him to a contract of 3 Million Dollars for multiple seasons, Darrow known for his Defense had 16 Points (1 Goal, 15 Assists) in 48 Games with a -1 in the on/off ice statistics. He looks like a real deal here in the future, and Buffalo might not have the cap space to sign him to a contract, He will be one of the bigger Free Agents this offseason.

(S46) Raino Kyllonen - Center - 405 TPE

A Buffalo prospect on a Restricted Free Agent. Probably will not get offersheeted, but Buffalo has this year to sign him a contract before he becomes a Unrestricted Free Agent that some can sign. He has a lot of upside in the near future. We will see what comes of it with Buffalo's Cap Situation.

(S47) Wibbly McButternutz - Defenseman - 233 TPE

Wibbly has been inactive, so if he moves up to the SHL as a depth piece you can tell he will be a 500K signing for a bridge deal.

(S39) Kyle Davis - Goalie - 177 TPE

Backup Goalie for the Buffalo Stampede, he will probably sign a contract of 500K for an extended couple of years for the team so they keep a goalie in their hands.

Dragons

Calgary Dragons - 38 Million in Cap Space Next Year

(S35) Mike Izzy - Left Wing - 1937 TPE

Mike Izzy one of the best Left Wingers in the SHL. His contract will be expiring at the end of this year, and he will need a new contract where he will most likely sign for upwards of 5 Million. It looks like Mike Izzy might be the next long-term deal Calgary will be dealing with as a Hippo Passamus type of deal. Mike Izzy expresses his love of Calgary, and will probably not move this offseason as he wants to strike a deal with the Dragons. Mike Izzy in 47 Games 50 Points (21 Goals, 29 Assists) a lethal Forward for the Calgary Dragons is well worth the money, and contract that should be provided with the 38 Million open in space.

(S40) Shooter McGavin - Left Wing - 1383 TPE

Also a very good winger that works well with Mike Izzy. He has 49 Points (19 Goals, 30 Assists) in 47 Games. Shooter McGavin is also a big piece that could be signed this offseason, but might settle for the 5 Million Dollars over an extended period of time for the Calgary Dragons. Shooter McGavin is a huge piece for the team to keep going for a long period of time.

(S43) Nicky Pedersen Jr. - Left Wing - 1103 TPE

Nicky is a 2nd Line Guy for the Calgary Dragons, but has not laid down when it comes to his new contract as he has shown signs of being on of the great Forwards in the League. Going into his 6th Season he would like to get a deal done with the Calgary Dragons. 41 Points (15 Goals, 26 Assists) in 47 Games, Nicky Pedersen Jr might get a contract of 4 Million for an extended period of time to get the Team multiple Challenge Cups.

(S43) Mason Hudson - Left Wing - 407 TPE

Mason Hudson will get a Contract of 1 Million dollars for his services as a depth piece for the Calgary Dragons, he had no effect on the team on defense or on offense in his 47 Games played.

(S43) Vital Kravtsov - Center - 208 TPE

Vital Kravtsov had 1 Goal in his season this year, and he might be able to sign a contract for League minimum if he is lucky for the team to have enough cap space for him.

(S38) Your Overlord - Defenseman - 192 TPE

Depth Piece at most for the Calgary Dragons, he will sign a League minimum of 500K if he does indeed sign for Calgary.

(S46) Brennan Kennedy Jr. - Defenseman - 771 TPE

Wasn't amazing for his play, but is still growing as a keep Top 6 Defenseman for the team, he will probably find himself signing a contract that is worth about 3 Million Dollars for probably a good amount of years for the team, so they can stay as young as possible.

(S46) Chico Smeb - Defenseman - 777 TPE

Also a Young defenseman for the team can handle Top 4 Minutes on his own did well for himself on Offense with 25 Points this year could get himself a contract that test him long term, for 3 Million AAV.

(S29) Richard C. Hocolate - Goalie - 619 TPE

He could be one of the oldest Goalies left in the SHL, he is expired on his contract will probably sign a contract for something along the lines of 3 Million Dollars for multiple years. Richard has become a very productive backup Goalie for the Calgary Dragons.

(S41) Kata Vilde - Goalie - 1477 TPE

A John McBride finalist last season has his contract expire, but he might look to stay with the team long-term. He could go for 5 Million dollars or more on AAV, but the team wants him locked up for more than just a couple seasons for the team. Kata Vilde brought the team to the Challenge Cup Finals last year, and it made Kata a huge recognized player among the SHL, which could land him an even bigger contract in Free Agency with a new team if he does choose to go that route, but Calgary would look to sign him long-term as the 2nd Highest Priority behind Mike Izzy.

(S46) Oliver Klozoff - Defenseman - 498 TPE

Didn't sign a contract this year on Unrestricted Free Agent, if the team doesn't sign Your Overlord look for Klozoff to be a replacement for him on a 1 Million Dollar contract for the team. He could be a very valuable depth piece for the team if they would like to get rid of Your Overlord who is a bit older now.

(S46) Olin O'Dowd - Defenseman - 253 TPE

Also a key depth piece wasn't given a contract this year, he could sign a contract for the team as a role player, who could give the team depth at the defensive position if Your Overlord is released from his contract.

(S47) Esa Pormberg - Center - 606 TPE

Pretty much SHL ready could sign a contract with a new team at the end of the year as a Unrestricted Free Agent, but Calgary might have some plans to give him a contract worth 3 Million Dollars per year to give the team very needed depth at the center role.

Chicago Syndicate - 43.5 Million in Cap Space Next Year

(S32) Luke Atmey - Left Wing - 1274 TPE

One of the older players in the SHL right now, almost ready to give the reigns to like the Smebs, but he is still fighting hard in the SHL about to play in his 17th Season with the SHL. Luke Atmey's contract has expired and he will look to get a Short Term contract out of the way probably worth around 4 Million AAV. He has a place in his heart for the Chicago Syndicate, so he most likely signs a contract where it will take him into retirement for the team, but to be for sure in later future about it.

(S42) Cameron Carter II - Left Wing - 1155 TPE

Ready to take over as the teams best player in Chicago, and probably starting Left Winger here in the next couple of years. Going into his 7th Season his contract has expired and he is ready to take a long-term contract that will take him into the later years of his career. Cameron Carter has 43 Points in 47 Games of play with 21 Goals coming into play. If a contract doesn't get sorted with the Chicago Syndicate he might very well get his chance with a new team where he can start contending.

(S43) Gvidas Kazlauskas - Left Wing - 684 TPE

More of the Middle 6 Forward for the Chicago Syndicate had 11 Points last year, but has been known for his more of a set up guy, and a Defensive player for the Chicago team. His services could cost the team around 2-3 Million Dollars AAV if they choose to do a deal. Most likely it becomes a bridge deal that will only but a few years.

(S46) Steve Craig-Smeb - Left Wing - 190 TPE

A Younger player, but known for his bottom 6 play for the Chicago Syndicate could sign a League Minimum deal if Chicago wants to get a deal done.

(S46) Backdoor Barnacle - Right Wing - 234 TPE

Another depth piece who will sign a 500K league minimum deal for Chicago.

(S35) Fedor Shirobokov - Defenseman - 904 TPE

Fedor known for his defensive play has a contract extension who needs to be dealt with, my guess is it's a low contract deal around 3 Million dollars short term. About to head into his 14th Season he could very well be out of the organization here in the near future. It will probably be dealt with as a Year to Year basis deal.

(S36) Sami Owens - Defenseman - 1026 TPE

With 30 Points this season Sami Owens will be a player who probably signed a 4 Million AAV Contract on a 2-4 Season deal. Owens is getting older going into his 13th Season, Chicago my try to revamp. Try and rebuild. Trading Sami Owens for a rebuilding package might be the best bet for the older team.

(S39) James Johnson - Defenseman - 914 TPE

Known as one of Chicago's better defenseman going into his 10th Season could sign upwards of 3 Million dollars AAV, but he could be a 5 Year deal to try and lock up a stable of a defenseman in their core unless they are trying to rebuild.

(S42) Buck Maverick - Defenseman - 714 TPE

Buck will probably sign a contract of 2-3 Million for multiple years. Going into his 7th Season he could be a guy they try to rely on in the near future. Buck Maverick is known for his Depth Play for the team, and could be a key rebuilding piece.

(S47) Khan Smeb - Defenseman - 397 TPE

Very good player who they afford as a depth piece, but could be a big piece here in the future as a Defenseman.

(S37) Robert Klavins - Goalie - 187 TPE

Could be a backup re-signing for 500K.

(S37) Jay Bae - Goalie - 705 TPE

Veteran Goalie for the Chicago Syndicate, going into his 12th Season. Jay Bae could be signed for a contract that leads him to spend the rest of his contract in Chicago. Hopefully helping them get set for a playoffs run, which is something they haven't done yet.

(S46) Eva Lykke Aparjode - Left Wing - 492 TPE

Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the year, they will probably try to sign him as a Middle 6 Forward for the Teams main roster, they hope to bring in young talent that can help win here in the future.

(S46) Liam Hutchinson - Right Wing - 381 TPE

Liam Hutchinson is one of the younger players, but hasn't shown any signs of good play yet. He hopes to become a depth role piece for Chicago while they are resetting for the build.

Hamilton Steelhawks - 46,305,793.10 Cap Space remaining for next year

(S35) Angelo Odjick - Left Wing - 996 TPE

Angelo had 41 Points so far this season he looks like could be a guy they want to lock up for the rest of his career. Angelo in his 13th Season right now still going well, but looking over it they could sign him 4-5 Seasons no problem, but will they want to is the question. For around 3 Million a Year they should have no trouble signing Angelo.

(S36) Alexander Zajac - Left Wing - 937 TPE

Around the same thing as Odjick, but Zajac had 35 Points not 40+ Points so looking at him being a year younger, going into his 13th Season. Zajac will be less of a priority to sign a contract, but will be a guy they lock up for a few years, and he will be a guy they will go for around 3 Million Dollars for probably less term as he will not be as good as Angelo is when it comes to scoring production.

(S36) Vijanupatan Singh - Right Wing - 981 TPE

Singh with 36 Points this season also needs a contract. Singh Last offseason signed a 2-Year deal worth 4 Million. A bit of an overpaid price, but his offer will probably come down after his production this season wasn't as good as Angelo. But his contract will be locked up for another couple of seasons before his production will start taking a huge drop.

(S36) Yuri Boyka Jr. - Center - 1055 TPE

Yuri with under 30 Points of production, but known for his defensive play did solid for himself this season will probably go for around 4 Million dollars, but will be locked up for multiples seasons for his 2-way stability he brings to the teams play.

(S43) Sulak O'Hritea - Right Wing - 810 TPE

Over 20 Points of production this year, Sulak looks like he could be a player for the future of Hamilton Hockey. Going into his 6th Season he has become a great player when it comes to offensive production along with being a team enforcer getting into 20 Fights this season alone. Hamilton look to sign him on a contract that is cap friendly for the team, but will also keep him as a depth scoring piece that team could use for their Playoff push.

(S45) Zivan Zidek - Center - 447 TPE

A depth piece who did very well for himself on defense could very well be one of the guys who sign a 1 Million Dollar contract that serves as a role player for the team who has some cap problems in the future.

(S30) Ben Dover - Defenseman - 959 TPE

Ben Dover has been a very good Two-Way Defenseman for Hamilton, but heading into his 19th Season for Hamilton it might be time for them to move on from the Older defenseman. Ben Dover had 21 Points this season, but has been one of the most important players when it comes to the defense coming in helping Kryyst get a .917 Sv PCT this season. Ben Dover might be trade bate for the team in a sign and trade, but the hopeful defenseman might want to stay and retire a Hamilton Steelhawk.

(S35) Finn Kruger - Defenseman - 1113 TPE

Has become the teams 2nd Best Defenseman based on rating, but has not is not an improvement Defensively. Finn Kruger known for his offensive capabilities going 30+ Points in production this season. He has a good 4-5 more Seasons left in him. He will probably sign a contract worth 4 Million AAV.

(S36) Nour Harrak - Defenseman - 895 TPE

Nour is a great productive Defenseman coming in at 25 Points this season, and has a good defensive ability on him as well. Comes in handy when they get into some trouble in their own zone. He could sign a contract around 3 Million Dollars for multiple years. This deal would happen based on their cap space that they would have, and it could be with disappointment that the team would have to let him go.

(S45) Vegeta Muerto - Defenseman - 291 TPE

Vegeta is a Bottom 4 Defenseman who fills a roster spot. He could very well sign a contract for the league minimum but he hasn't done much since his departure back in S45.

(S42) Geezus Kryyst - Goalie - 1330 TPE

Geezus signed a 6.2M contract for 2 Years in S47, and Geezus is looking to sign fairly close to the original contract he signed. He had a .917 Sv Pct this season, but is known to have a great Defensive Core in front of him, so a little bit of help along the way, Geezus could be on his way out, if they feel Aleksi O'Koivu-Volkova is ready to sign a long-term contract and if she is the real deal.

(S43) Brandon Sando - Goalie - 155 TPE

Brandon Sando as a backup hasn't played at all, they have been playing rookie AOV. I think Sando is on his way out after the season is over, but we will see if that happens later on, but if he does sign a contract it will be for 500K, SHL Minimum if they do so choose to make a contract signing.

(S46) Gabster TheMagnificent - Center - 277 TPE

A player who hasn't been around for a little bit. 500K Minimum might be signed as other depth players could be getting older, and not be as valuable anymore.

(S46) Kalvins Zvejnieks - Center - 582 TPE

Could sign a contract as a depth piece right now, that could be used for future, but right now seems ready for the SHL Spot Light. Kalvins has been a top prospect for hamilton for 2 Seasons now, but he has been known as one of the better prospects of his draft class.

(S46) Aleksi O'Koivu-Volkova - Goalie - 459 TPE

AOV has done her job well as backup Goalie for the SHL team. She will probably take a big role by the end of the season as maybe full time start for the team if they look to rebuild here. She could sign a contract around 2 Million for multiple seasons.

(S46) Jakub Hasek - Goalie - 325 TPE

Jakub has recently become inactive, but his involvement in the SHL Season comes along. He could sign a contract with another team as a Backup Goalie for a Starter.

(S46) Brock Emmerton - Left Wing - 454 TPE

Brock could be a could depth piece for the team or another team depending on if they let brock go, but his contract will probably be around 1-2 Million Dollars per year.

(S46) Fork Spoon - Left Wing - 325 TPE

He has been inefficient in the SMJHL, and they hope to have him used as a depth piece. And other teams could also use him as a depth piece as well.

Hey bud, just so you know Tanner, plus half of Hamilton's players (Singh, Harrak, Dover, Zajac, etc) are all retiring, so they won't be coming back.

New "zombie" rule lets teams keep retired players as IFAs for 3 seasons...
