The warmth and the Barbecue are the things that come to mind when you think of Texas, and while For most, that is why they come to Texas But for a select few, they come to Texas to fulfill the dream of playing for the Texas Renegades.

This dream comes from the desire to play for one of the greatest teams in SHL History, with 6 Championships to their name. Still, one that has recently declined in play as the stars of their past have retired. Their team lacks reinforcements due to years of buying to try and win a cup. However, the future looks bright after missing the playoffs mixed in with early playoff exits the past few seasons and are projected to miss them again next season. They may however have the best prospect pool in the league, with many new faces coming to training camp.

Many of these players that will be attending training camp include recent first-round picks such as Tiberius Kane (14th OA) and Jack McCarthy (15th OA), as well as later-round picks Patrice Bergeron (26th OA) and Ryan Kennedy (46th OA) all of whom want to have their names up in the rafters along with the greats such as Chris Partlow who had 592 of his 641 points with the Texas Renegades while on their back end when they won its first 3 Challenger Cups during his career decades ago.

For now, it's a waiting game on whether this team with a bright future will become dominant again or if the log jam of specs only causes them to look elsewhere or lose interest and fail altogether, but what can be said now is that there is a reason this team is one that many desire to play for and while excellent management has something to do with it a Big reason that will always remain the Texas Dream.
