It's time for the third annual Manhattan Team Awards. These awards range from the Most Valuable Player to the Heart of the Lockerroom.

RECAP
The Manhattan Rage started off well during the Regular Season. However despite being one of the top teams in the east. The Rage had to fight very hard to secure themselves a playoff spot near the end of the season. As the playoffs came around, the Rage ended up racing the Hamilton Steelhawks. Unfourtnaly, the Rage would lose the series 4-0 to the Steelhawks. The Rage were busy this off-season bringing in some top tier players to help the team out. With both Geoff Moore and Ola Wagstrom. The Rage look to be even better next year and make a deep run for the cup!

Now it's time to get into the awards!

Roy Razin Award (Most Valuable Player)

This player was the centerpiece for the team. Without them, we would have never had been successful. They were the person the team looked to for wins and to be able to be clutch in the most important moments.

The Winner is
Luke Thomason! @"Luketd"
Thomason leads the Rage in points throughout the regular season. Putting up an impressive 61 points for the Rage. Thomason constantly shows why he is one of the best players on the Rage and even a top player throughout the league! Thomason was also a beast on the powerplay being able to get 23 points. Thomason is a true leader for the Rage and is well-deserving of the Roy Razin award!

Fellow countrymen and teammate Andrej Doskocil said this about Thomason "It's pretty clear why the offensive machine of Thomason never stops and having over 60 points and a comfortable 10 point lead over the 2nd best scorer on the team is just showing how insanely good he is and how much he brings to the team."

Wyatt Wolker Award (Best Defensemen)
The best defensemen award goes to the defensemen who excelled in all defensive categories as well as offensive categories. This play was the heart of the blue line leading the defense and playing a key part in locking down opposing teams!

The Winner is

Andrej Doskocil! @Citizen of Adraa
[Image: 0vWinAV.png]

Doskocil is not afaird to put his body on the line at all. He is fearless on the defensive side of the puck. Leading the Rage in hits by a very large margin. Doskocil was one of the league's top hitters during the regular seasons racking up a total of 303 hits. Not only was he laying the body every chance he could. Doskocil was in front of the puck blocking shots all game long. Doskocil blocked a total of 103 shots which was second for the Rage during the season.

David Vent had this to say about fellow defensemen Doskocil."The guy is a top tier defenseman. He is willing to go out their every single game and put his body on the line for us to win. Without that physical presence that he brings, teams would just bully us. He is always stopping offensive rushes with his hits and when the other team is able to get a shot off, he is right there to block it. Also, don't knock his offensive ability. He was still able to get 15 points on the season"

Ace Redding Award (Best Two-Way Player)
The Ace Redding Award goes to the forward who was able to contribute offensively and defensively throughout the regular season. This player held down the defensive zone and was able to score and set up teammates in the offensive zone.

The Winner is

Jax Aittokallio! @JayWhy
[Image: tjyuut.jpg]
Jax is one of the best forwards for Manhattan, Aittokallio was able to get 51 points this season and was able to contribute on the defensive side as well. Having 29 hits as well as leading Rage forwards in shots blocked with a total of 42. Jax is a great example for the younger generation on how players can do well on offense and help out the team on defense as well!

Former teammate of Jax, Derek Bohne Jr said this about the forward "Before we announce the winner of the best two-way player, we feel it's important to address our whole team. Everyone on the team did a fanatic job. And with that, we'd like to offer our congratulations to @JayWhy, for being voted the best two way player on the Manhattan Rage this season. Never one to give up on a play, he would hustle up and down the ice to make sure there was always a chance to make the important play. Some teams would be lucky to have a player who gives it half the effort that he gives it, and we're very lucky that he's easily one of the best players on the ice every shift. Always the consummate teammate, he would give it 110% each and every time he took the ice. Reliable isn't a strong enough word to describe him. Even if the game was a blowout, Jay would make it a point to motivate his teammates with every stride he took. Great players can make other players look great, and he's a great player. On any given shift, Jay would give everything he could to make sure that the Puck would end up in the offensive zone before he'd go off for a change. One of a kind player, hands down. Defense, offense, he does it all. "

Tokek Tokshak Award (Unsung Hero)
The Tokek Tokshak award goes to the player who may not be the flashiest or gets the most points. However, they are crucial to the team. They are someone the team can rely on to play well and consistently every game.
The Winner Is

Kastrba was on fire throughout the season. Scoring 25 goals and getting 21 assists. Kastrba lit up the goal sheet a lot of the Rage during the season. Coming in clutch in many games scoring to put the Rage ahead for them to get the W. Kastrba also had 55 hits and 29 shots blocked. He was all over the ice for the Rage and his teammates surely noticed!

Barret McCarthy had this to say about his alternate captain. "Kastrba has played an important depth role for the team for multiple seasons now. He is a big reason why we can spread the load on the ice, knowing we have a solid play we can lean on when we need to, and his complete selflessness  and team-first attitude is what makes him an unsung hero"

Alex Winters Award (Prospect of the Year)

The Rage did not have a rookie this year so the award was changed to the Prospect of the year. The prospect of the year goes to a prospect who showed huge potential and drive during the season. They were a huge contributor to their team on both offense and defense. They have a lot of potential and the rest of the team is excited to watch them grow as a person and as a player.

The Winner Is

Santtu lit up the SMHJL this year. Being a strong center for the Anchorage Boat things. Santtu was able to get 41 points and also get 60 hits and 30 shots blocked. Santtu continues to grow as a player but is already showing signs of brilliance for the Rage. The team is excited for when he makes the leap to the SHL and becomes one of the top players in the future for them!.

Fellow prospect Jukka Timonen had this to say about Santtu "In Rasanen's 3rd season in the J, he was tasked with centering ANC's first line, and he stepped up to that job tremendously. He put up a team-high 41 points, which was also good for 11th in the league overall. He excelled as a powerplay specialist, tied for second in the league in special teams points with 20, despite not even being top 20 in the league in powerplay TOI. His contributions weren't all just offensively, as ANC depended on him to play a 200-foot game, and he responded with 22 takeaways and 60 hits, which earned him the 4th best GR in the league. Rasanen is a skilled forward and positive presence in the LR, and I'm excited to have him in the system with me, and eventually develop into the next generation of talented Rage players together."

Jardy Buclewirth Award (110%)

This award is given to the player who shows great effort on and off the ice. They are always giving their best effort in every aspect of the game. On the ice they are pushing themselves past their limits, off the ice they are involved in everything they can and helping out any way they can.

We would like to thank Gold for his commitment to the Rage and for trying to be the best person/ player he can be!
General Manager Jakub Aittokallio had this to say about his forward "Gold earned his way to the top line this season by working his tail off every single day. Through personal events, he continued and continues to persevere in a remarkable way and has continued to show his true love and passion for the game. He deserves more than an award, but this is a start in showing just how much we appreciate his effort."

Friend, teammate, and fellow countrymen Alex Winters had this to say about his captain "He’s probably the single best person in our locker room, and someone that is always there, always positive and a truly great person to have. The team wouldn’t be the same without him, and I hope that by us voting for him to win this award, he understands how important he is to us"
Congratulations to all the winners of this years' Manhattan Team Awards!
