Nevada's first season in SMJHL has gone pretty much as expected by many, the team is an underdog team who is looking into annoying the top teams while trying to collect wins here and there.  The start was unlucky and unfortunate, but lately, Nevada has played perhaps the best hockey of their season, multiple wins including a win from friendly rival Quebec who returned the favor sim or two later, but the main point is that Nevada is starting to find their place in this league after a rocky start.

The roster in Nevada for the most part is extremely young and inexperienced, but that also means that the future has the potential to be a bright one. A quick analysis of the roster next, let's start with the goalies.

Phillip Weaver is a superstar already and has carried Nevada in multiple games this season. He is going to be a starter in Nevada for a long time. Behind him, Ethan Smith and Carter Hart have been the backup options, but when going forward the management could be looking into finding solid backup options for Weaver since Smith and Hart are not progressing as well as they could. Overall, the goalie position is in great shape.

In defense  Zoidberg III, Balzams, Bane, Afalava, Kamado, and Funk make up for strong top-6. All six defenders are active and most importantly they are still young. Balzams is the only player who played in the league last year. Just in case one of the mentioned players get injured or something else happens, Sammy "The Goon" Koa is waiting in the stands to be put on the ice, management has smartly made sure all six defenders do not take it easy and start thinking there is nobody who could take their position in the lineup. Can you imagine that core in front of Weaver year or two from now? Nice. Defense in Nevada is deep and talented.

Finally, the offense, which might be the so-called weakest link for Nevada when going forward, there is some question marks up in the air already. First one is over the centers, can Wallace and Reyes keep improving and keep their spots in the roster? Helminen and recently joined Baldus are looking into getting the bigger roles. At the same time, if Wallace and Reyes are not able to keep up, the management might to have to find new blood.

Winger situation is looking better, Zuntnere is a leading player and a star winger. Vermette and Danger have both played well so far in the year. Young wingers Sugimoto and Peckins are providing support, especially when going forward those two might push Kimanje and Johns II into smaller roles. There is real competition for roles, which is nice to see. Still, I have a feeling the management could be looking into adding winger or maybe even two in the near future.

Despite Nevada not being a favorite to win it all this year, the ongoing season is still an important season for the players especially, they need to show the management that they have what it takes. When going forward backup goalie, center and winger are the positions that will fairly surely be under the biggest spotlight when management in Nevada is thinking about the rosters of the future. One thing is for certain, Nevada has a lot of good pieces in their puzzle already!
