turns out there is nothing different between playing a professional game in a college rink vs a major arena other than the size of the stadium. this is not shocking to me since the fans of pro sports teams are super casuals and do not really like to get emotionally invested to teh extent college aged kids do. now if ew did have the college atmosphere that only like 5 schools actually have then shit would be lit. the fans would love the dab celly and dab opposing fans in the stands all game while we dominate and dab on the opponets on the ice. But outside of that there isnt a differnece that is noticable or one that a professional player like myself would care about. Fewer fans in the stands would mean i would have to fight fewer of tehm if they piss me off so that is a major plus i get, although it does mean less fights which is less fun....

In a sense, I am very afraid of everything that is happening around me these days. So I especially need to mentally prepare myself for games like this so that I don't play my worst game. It's a good way not to read the news and what's happening outside of hockey, because we can't change it, but it's even better if the team works together in sync. If one person starts to worry too much, the others will notice it and then it will go away as a common worry and playing hockey will no longer work out as planned. It's always nice to play at home, because you know that there are no provocations and dangers from your team's fans, but in other countries, especially those where militia conflicts and such things are normal, it's more difficult, because you don't know what might happen in the end . Must be able to find peace with teammates, good music and mood.

I never thought I'd say this, but playing in a college stadium has its charm. Surrounded by passionate students and die-hard fans, the atmosphere is electric. The cheers and chants reverberate through the stands, fueling our adrenaline on the ice. The energy is contagious, and it's hard not to get caught up in the fervor. The craziest incident that got a fan kicked out? Well, it happened during a particularly heated game against our rivals. One overzealous supporter decided to launch a foam finger at the opposing team's goalie, hitting him square in the mask. It caused a momentary uproar and resulted in the fan being escorted out of the stadium. We couldn't help but chuckle, but safety always comes first. The crowd is closer, more engaged, and there's a genuine connection between the players and the fans. Fortunately, I'm not miserable at all during this time. The college atmosphere breathes new life into my game, and I thrive on the energy of the crowd. It's a temporary home that I embrace wholeheartedly, knowing that our real stadium is on the horizon.

PLAYER PROMPT - Strictly Business

Written Task:  Fact is, the game is the same no matter where it's played. Home, away, outdoor, that one weird exposition game in Belarus that you're pretty sure your owner was blackmailed into putting on, your player's job doesn't change. So, how does your player keep an even keel? What's their trick for mental reset and maintaining focus on their game despite the men with tracksuits and AK47s hanging out at the vending area? (150+ words)

Levin's demeanour has always been fairly relaxed, seemingly unaffected by the pressure around him, even when he was younger. However, the situation is drastically different than an away day in the SMJHL - there are heavily armed men on the outside of the locker room, and the welcoming party to the arena was... less enthusiastic than it was forced. Still, Levin has a job to do, and he certainly won't be under any threat as long as he executes his best on the ice. So he fires up his "pump-up playlist", that consists of some of the most technically advanced melodic death metal you can find, and simply proceeds to put on his equipment, as he has always done. However, just this once, he wishes his entire equipment was made out of kevlar, and not just his socks and shin protectors... No matter. Once he's on the ice, the show must go on, and the game is still fun to play, no matter when or where.

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE - Written Task

Angry is absolutely having the time of his life playing in a college arena! While the stadium is smaller and the amenities aren't up to SHL standard, the fans and the stadium atmosphere more than make up for it! Angry never tought that going from a 18 000 place arena to a 5000 palce arena would improve the home ice advantage, but boy was he wrong. The college kids are crazy! They are constantly chriping the other team players and Angry is here for it! He doesn't even have to chirp his opponent and risk a minor for taunting anymore!

He also really enjoy being able to ask a spectator to go fetch him a beer and poor it into is water bottle while he is on the bench. His coach has not found out he is doing that to this day, something that never would have been possible while he was playing in the old arena! Angry's favorite moment, was when the fans stormed the ice after the Renegades won in overtime, every window in the arena had to be changed and the fans carried Angry and his teamates above their head around the campus afterward.

Brick Wall has never really been the type to be afraid of a few guns and track-suited men. At the end of the day, those tracksuit men with guns wanted to see Wall and the Pats play, and shooting them certainly would put that dream down. When it comes to the more normal pressure of playing in front of crowds, Wall has never quite felt the anxiety that many other players feel. That's not to say Wall doesn't feel nervous or excited, but that's more about the actual game itself. Wall has never really paid attention to the crowd; he gets locked in, purely focused on his routine and then the game. So whether it's a home game in front of cheering fans, an away game in front of a chorus of boos, or even an exhibition in front of the definitely not Belarusian mafia, Wall stays composed, because it's just like playing in an empty stadium.

Andreas has been a professional hockey player playing at the highest level for over twenty seasons now. There is nothing that he has not seen first hand in this sport. He has played in game seven overtimes, won Challenge Cups, won international gold medals, played for both contenders, pretenders and basement dwellers during his long career. With all this experience, there is very little than can faze Andreas any more. He knows that no matter whatever pressure on stakes may be placed on a game, he is more than capable of dealing with that and performing to his usual standard. Andreas will just focus on what he can control, which is his own mindset. With the correct mentality, he can block out external noise and just play the game of hockey like he has done for so many seasons. Ultimately, hockey is just a game and there are more important things in life.

Tiberius Kane has no anxiety around men in track suits and Ak47s. In fact, many of his soldiers prefer the tracksuits themselves, having hailed from slavic nations. The AK47 of course a paltry plaything compared to the arsenal deployed by his armies. Bullets make him no more afraid than a bullet ant! Okay, bad example, bullet ants are actually very painful. But you get the notion that Kane is not threatened by gunpower-based weaponry. They may as well be armed with an atlatl. Still, Kane is always ready to take advantage of unrest for the good of The Cause, as is his usual way. Not only does he get some threatening one-on-one time with world leaders, he becomes more attractive to the less war-weary people looking for change. And of course his strong connections to Premier Romanov back in the day make him quite popular with the people of belarus. And I guess the game of hockey can grow as well.

If Egli cared much at all what people online had to say about the situation he would probably find the whole thing to be a lot worse than he actually does. At the end of the day it's a unique situation - one that not all players have the chance to do. That goes for the fans as well. It isn't every day that an SHL Fan has the chance to view their team play in a small arena, it's a completely different experience.

That being said, the team doesn't have the amenities that they would at a typical arena, but Egli doesn't mind that so much either. So long as he has enough space for his pregame routine and some ice for a skate he's happy.

Not to mention, he loves the atmosphere. The acoustics in that place are nuts and it's by far the loudest barn he's had the chance to play in yet.

Thomas Liebold is thrilled to be playing in the old college arena. He had always felt like he missed out when he decided to play juniors rather than playing in college and is excited to be able to play in the positive and crazy atmosphere that college towns provide. the college rink is much smaller than the rinks his teams usually play in so it is easy for all of the games to sell out which makes a loud and energetic vibe for every home game. overly drunk college kids fill the stadium and constantly yell at the opposing team. the bleachers surround the tunnel where the other team gets onto the ice so the fans spit and dump beers onto the opposing teams. at least once a week a fan gets kicked out of the game for trying to streak onto the ice only to get caught and arrested by the team security. the rink also has drink specials on certain nights so the beers are cheap.
