Casino Recap – Onwards to Season 50

So with the closing of the Casino (check your bank accounts people, money is paid) the good majority of everyone in the league was lucky enough to make money this season. This season 162.4 million was placed in bets on the Casino and at the end of the day, the Casino paid out 225.2 million, a increase of roughly 39%, and 62.8 million in profit made by the players this season. There were a few players that lost money but for the most part everyone did profit. The betting lines were close on several teams, in fact 7 of 16 teams were within 2 games of the betting line.

I think it’s safe to say the Casino had a successful season, especially if you base it on the fact that nearly everyone made money. The media updates kept interest as the season progressed and the overwhelming feedback I received was positive, though we did have a few hiccups along the way.

First, it was brought to my attention that there were some errors in last season’s payouts, which I did audit and correct, and also there was some confusion and errors in the withdrawals from accounts this season. This can be summed up by a bit of confusion on the part of the banking form and the Casino sheet changes that caused the banking error. I apologize for this and they have since all been corrected, and if you have any further questions about that you can contact me directly.

On to next season. It is my goal to offer the best possible product to you, the players, for the most amount of fun, and maximum possible payouts at the end of the day. That being said, the parlay will be introduced this upcoming season. This gives the players a higher risk but chance of a much higher reward in the process. In fact, four times the reward. This will be limited to players who place three bets on the over/under only for now, but may be changed in the future.

To recap from the debuting article previously, the parlay will require the player to then get all three bets on the over/under correct or to payout anything. Missing just one of the three bets will be a total loss for the player, however placing three bets of 1 million apiece will payout 12 million total instead of just 6 million. I think this will really entice players to participate and follow along to the bets they placed all season, as well as take a bigger risk in hopes for a bigger reward.

Now for some more recap numbers:

32 people placed bets on the cup winner, and only 1 got it correct. Edmonton was 2-1 odds at the beginning of the season so the Casino really won out here.

The most people lost money on the Manhattan Rage, 10 people choosing the under, which ended up being one of the first bets to break the over line this season.

Tampa Bay passed the over on the last game of their season, paying out for 20 different users.

Toronto missed the mark, going on the run at the end but ending a game under their betting line, which still paid out for 9 users.

Calgary bowing out in the playoffs affected the most amount of users, 13 people lost their cup bets when they got knocked out.

Though several people did get all of their over/under bets correct, no one got all four bets possible this season.

Only one player got all the bets he placed incorrect this season (to be fair he did only place one bet for 200K)

And finally, if you didn’t bet, turns out you missed out this season!

In closing I want to thank everyone for their continued usage and support of the Casino. It’s my hope that we can continue to expand the features and participation of the Casino every season, in the hopes of really giving everyone a new reason to follow teams that may not be yours, and of course to get some bragging rights and some extra cash in their pockets.

The leaderboard has been updated including the previous season, and I’m sure there will be some big changes in that regard once parlay’s come into effect, with a lot more possible winners and losers on the hook for a lot more money.
