TASK 1

Game 16

All The Rage: Matt Lewis-Flood quiets Manhattan in postseason Debut

The West Kendall Platoon, in desperate need of a win to even up the series at 2, turned to their rookie standout goalie Matt Lewis-Flood. This was Flood, commonly known as "MLF"'s first appearance in the postseason. Fans were not sure what to expect this series, since he had split starts with Schmidt, the latter taking most recent starts and riding a hot streak. But in the playoffs, sometimes a change is what is necessary to alter the destiny. And the proverbial "Flood-gates" were indeed closed, as Matt Lewis-Flood allowed only two goals on 29 shots, and the West Kendall Platoon beat the Manhattan Rage 3-2 in overtime. It was an incredibly gritty performance from the young netminder, and the Platoon staffers responded with high praise after the game, saying that he would also be awarded the next start as well. What will happen in Game 5 between the Platoon and Rage? Find out next time on the post game show!

TASK 3

My Most Valuable Player for this postseason has to go to Pedro Sarantez, forward for the Edmonton Blizzard. Granted, I can only find the stats from midway through Round 2, but he was having a killer postseason nonetheless. His eight goals for the Edmonton side are more than double anyone else on the team, the next highest being three. With that, he has also added six assists. This shows that Sarantez is just as proficient passing the puck as we all know he is shooting the puck. So why does he have this success? Well, one could point to his massive shooting volume. He has taken 45 shots, which is just under double anyone else on the team. Sarantez has no problem creating his own chances even in the toughest of situations, and the amount of shots he's taken is as good evidence as any. With all these things apparent, and the Blizzard winning the Finals, there is no question in my mind that the Playoff MVP award should go to Pedro Sarantez!

TASK 5

How the West Kendall Platoon/Manhattan Rage Series went down (actually): Matt Lewis-Flood to the rescue!

Let me paint a picture for you: The Platoon entered the season stating that rookie Matt Lewis-Flood would start the season splitting starts with future Hall of Fame veteran Colin Schmidt. This went well for both, but eventually it was decided that Flood would get the bulk of the starts. Then he got cold, Schmidt took over and caught fire, rolling the Platoonies all the way to a high postseason seed. So naturally, Schmidt started the series against the Manhattan Rage in net, with MLF watching eagerly from the bench. Soon enough, however, the previously hot Platoon squad found themselves down 2-1 in the series. In dire need of a pick me up, the coaching staff handed the reigns over to Matt Lewis-Flood, willing to count on and trust in their prized rookie in a tough spot. And he delivered. In the next game, MLF stuck out a gritty 3-2 overtime win which would set the tone for the rest of the series. Coupled with the potent scoring and defense which stepped up, the young goalie was free of nerves in net, winning three games, and giving the series to the West Kendall Platoon. Unfortunately, next series did not go as well for MLF but you can bet he will be ready to go for next season, full throttle!

TASK 8

The New England Wolfpack were certainly seen as a team on the rise this season, but not many projected them to enjoy this much success and end up in the Challenge Cup Finals. So lets talk about a major reason why they are here: The Lil Brigade - some love them, some hate them. Personally, I am indifferent towards the brigade as a whole and just like the activity they bring. So first, it would only be fair to start with Lil's player, Mainio Makinen. Makinen was the subject of some off-ice controversy regarding tax evasion and other legal monetary charges, but these have not distracted him on the ice. He was a major contributor during the regular season and has continued to produce in the playoffs. Another name to mention is Mikael Talo, one of the founding members of the Brigade. Akamai is incredibly active, updates at every chance, and her player brings lots of needed firepower to the ice. Shoutouts also to Mia Landvik, Bennett Jones, Mikke Laukkanen and any other members of the Brigade and the Wolfpack that I forgot. On another note, the trade for Hamilton Steelhawks' goalie Jakob Tanner pushed them over the top. While parting with solid defenseman Connor O'Reilly, they were able to pull in Tanner, who brings veteran presence to an otherwise young team, and a much needed solid backstop in between the pipes.

TASK ONE
Write a blog post about any post season game of S30. Can be a game preview, a recap, something silly like a review of what colour laces a player is wearing. Must be 150 words

It's Game 7 between the Seattle Riot and the Calgary Dragons. Winner moves on to the 2nd round, loser goes home. The game got started quickly with Calgary's Alex Mack scoring just 38 seconds in to put the Dragons up 1-0. Pedersen and Pergher with the assists. The lead would be short lived though as Seattle's David Benson struck on the powerplay to tie it up 1-1. Shortly after Seattle scored again, this time it was Cameron Urbowicz and just like that Seattle had a lead in game 7 at the end of the 1st period. The 2nd period had back and forth action until Calgary's Shane Gagner buried a goal to make it a 2-2 game. Zoidberg and Martell with the assists. That was all the scoring in the 2nd and we had a tie game going into the 3rd. Latvian sensation Chris Johnson would early on the powerplay for Calgary and they once again held a 1 goal lead 3-2. Seattle would keep pressing for the eqaulizer and finally got it with under 6 minutes to play when Benson struck again. 3-3 game and we'd head to Overtime in game 7 to decide the series! Seattle's Jack Burton takes a hooking penalty just 1 minute into OT and Calgary goes on the powerplay. It's Alex Mack winning the draw, back to Shane Gagner, over to Michael Boychuk, Boychuk unloads a Howizter...GOAL!!!! "Big Game" Boychuk wins it for Calgary! Game 7 OT Winner! [244]

TASK FIVE
Write 200 words on any series match up and what you think will happen, what actually happened or what should have happened.

Calgary vs Seattle was a great series. After Calgary won the President's Trophy with the league's best record, many experts thought this would be a quick series with Calgary coming out top, but Seattle has a great team and it went down to the wire. Seattle opened up on the road with the first 2 games in Calgary. Game 1 was a 3-2 win for Seattle and they took game 2 by a score of 5-3. Calgary who had rolled over Seattle in the regular season found themselves quickly in a deep hole in this series. Down 0-2 heading to Seattle, the Dragons would have to win 4 of the next 5 games, a tall task, but all it takes is one win at a time. Calgary made an adjustment and won game 2 and 3 by an identical score of 4-2. Just like that it was a best of 3 with 2 games in Calgary. Game 5 was also won by Calgary for their 3rd win a row and it was now Seattle's back against the wall. At home Seattle stood tall and forced a game 7. As we discussed earlier, game 7 was a spirited affair with neither team backing down. Calgary proved to have a little more in the thank and won it on overtime on a Boychuk powerplay goal. Truly a great series. [227]

Task One

The post season has returned for New England, and the Wolfpack crew couldn't be happier. Some big deals in the off-season have really pushed this team up the charts of some people, and those moves include the big signing on Roman Morenov.

The team clown and dressing room leader is back for another year in New England and will help lead the back end into the post season this year. Another steady year for him has helped keep this New England team grounded as they can always count on him to keep the puck out of the net.

Jonathan Lundberg was brought in in the off-season to sure up down the middle for the Wolfpack and has done a great job during the season and should be a big help to help this team move into the deeper rounds of the playoffs.

In the net, another big move in the off-season, was picking up Jakob Tanner to man the pipes after their starter packed up. Tanner has held the fort all year keeping this team in every game, and expect this team to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

Task 3

There is an easy pick for the MVP of the playoffs thus far. Pedro Sarantez.

With players like Dean Colt and Theo Kane on your team it is hard to stand out, but Sarantez has done that this post-season. Let's break it down for you.

Ten games played, eight goals, six assists, for fourteen points and a plus nine. Averaging over one point a game in the playoffs is always a tough thing to do, but with Kane and Colt being watched with every move, it has opened Sarantez up for taking advantage of teams defense and finding the back of the net. Don't forget to look at that plus nine either. Sarantez also knows how to keep the puck from entering the net, playing good defense will always reward you in the offence and Sarantez knows that.

If the Blizzard can keep up what they have already accomplished so far in the playoffs, Sarantez is my pick for the MVP award.

Task 5

It’s that time of year again, the Challenge Cup has come around and two teams will battle it out for SHL supremacy!

Both teams have a very different build to them and one team was expected here, while the other has turned some heads along the great run they are on!

First we will start with Edmonton. They have a very powerful forward squad and were expected to be right back in the hunt for the cup with players leading their teams such as Sarantez, Kane, and Colt. All three players did exactly what they needed to during the season to put this team back in winning form, and Sarantez now leads the league in points for the post season.

Also making a huge impact are both Muller, and Rogers-Tanaka, who together have a combined 21 points in 20 games, with a plus 4 rating! No wonder this team is right back where they belong!
On the other side we have the Wolfpack, who weren’t expected to push this far, but with some great off-season moves, the head office has put this team right where they want them to be.

Lead by an unusual pair of defenders, Clayton and Morenov, who lead the team with 8 points each, this team has come this far based on keeping the puck out of the net and working as a full squad.

Tanner has been lights out with a .916 save percentage and a 2.63 goals against, this team knows how to utilise the full team front and it has paid off handsomely with a trip to the Challenge Cup finals and a shot at the cup!

Buckle up, this should be a great series!

Task 8

The New England Wolfpack’s run has been a shock to most of the teams watching the SHL conclude, but not the team or management.

Key’s moves in the off-season, and a new system for the whole team has shaped this team into a well run Wolfpack on the ice!

Tanner, and Lundberg were brought in in the off-season to not only fill some holes, but to provide that veteran status that New England lost in the off-season. They both stepped up in great ways to help push their teammates. Tanner has put up amazing numbers this season with 26 wins, .910 save percentage, and a 2.48 goals against in 44 appearances. Lundberg has chipped in 29 points in 50 games played, but a great plus 13, a very responsible player in his own end.

Couple those two veteran’s with players like Bure, and Russell, and you have a great team in front of you.

The back end is also a wall to help funnel pucks away from Tanner, all but one defencemen had a plus rating ending the season, and Morenov found an extra gear come playoff time, with 8 points in as many games. Good way to end a contract year!

With those key off-season moves, the front office really set this team up the right way, and not just score score score, it was a team effort from the beginning and we have seen it carry on, deep, into the playoffs.

New England will be feared next season if they can keep this core together for another year!

2 rounds down and the finals are set. The stage is Rexall Place, Edmonton. The players are the Edmonton Blizzard and the New England Wolfpack. Both teams took very different paths to get here, but that's all in the past. All the matters now are the next 4-7 games to determine which team will hoist the SHL prize. Period one went differently than many thought with the visiting New England Wolfpack jumping out to an early 2-0 lead off goals from Tim "clutch" Buckner and defensive stud Roman Morenov. Fortunately for the home fans the Blizzard managed to cut that deficit in half before the end of the first off a timely contribution from Karpotsov. The second period saw both teams exchange goals, Dean Colt and Mikael Talo the contributors. Sadly for the hometown fans the Blizzard were unable to equalise in the third, ultimately losing 3-2 and dropping the first of the series at home to the visiting New England Wolfpack. goal scorers Buckner and Talo took home 1st and 3rd star respectively, and the setup man Bennett Jones who double dipped for 2 assists locked up the 2nd star designation. TASK THREE
Quote:Who is your MVP candidate for these playoffs and why? Must be 150 words and have 3 stats minimum
There are a lot of worthy candidates, but the easy case is for the goalies that brought there teams to the finals. Brett Broadway in Edmonton and Jakob Tanner in New England have been swatting away pucks on a very consistent basis, and have arguably carried their teams in several games. Seeing as New England bested the Blizzard in a best of 7 the nod ultimately goes to Mr. Tanner. Through 2 rounds Jakob posted a tidy 6-2-0 record with a glowing 0.916 save percentage and 2.63 goals against average, good enough for 3rd and 2nd overall respectively. The finals saw those numbers climb even more, highlighted by an insane 10-2-0 record. Even more impressive, Jakob witnessed an increase in save percentage from seasonal to post-seasonal play, showing just how big he can be in the clutch. Naturally a team is made up of more than just one, or even two, players, but it easy to see that Jakob Tanner is a big reason why the New England Wolfpack were able to complete their Cinderella story and dismantle several early favourites on the way. [184 words].

TASK EIGHT:
Quote:Take one Cup finalist and talk about how they made the playoffs (free agent signings, trades, outstanding rookies, a career season from someone). Must be 200 words
.
The season 30 Edmonton Blizzard were largely the same team that managed to win it all in season 28, minus a few key additions and subtractions such as Dean Colt and Chuck Goody to name a few. One player I'd like to highlight that made significant changes between the season 28 and season 30 squad is none other than German center turned winger Nikolaus Scholz. In season 28 Nik was an off-season addition coming in from Portland that was forced to shift from his natural center position to a left wing spot on the second unit. The change took longer than expected to adapt to and Scholz' numbers plummeted from 43 points to a measly 19 points. In season 30 Scholz was able to re-capture some of that offensive flare, going on to post 40 points, including a career high 18 goals. Easily his best season since being acquired by Edmonton, Scholz continued his surge in to the playoffs posting 3 goals and 5 points in the first round helping the Blizzard dispatch the Renegades in 6 games. Sadly for Nik and Blizzard fans alike the well dried up in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as he was largely invisible for the remainder of the playoffs. [206 words].

Task 1

In Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the New England Wolfpack defeated the West Kendall Platoon in double overtime, swinging the series momentum to the Wolfpack's favor. Mia Landvik and Tim Buckner struck early in the game for New England, putting them up 2-0 over the title contending Platoon. Power forward Ray Pejonis put West Kendall on the board late in the 2nd period, giving them some life. With less than 5 minutes to go in the game, Tim Buckner took a minor penalty for interference which gave the Platoon an opportunity on the power play to tie it all up at 2. At 16:01 in the 3rd, Maria Maximova sent home the game-tying goal. The two teams continued to battle well past regulation time, until Raven Silverwing scored his 4th goal of the playoffs to win the game for the Wolfpack.

Task 3

Jakob Tanner is this year's playoff MVP. He carried the Wolfpack with his play in net and his coaching ability to a 4 game sweep of the Edmonton Blizzard for the Challenge Cup. Tanner boasts an impressive 12-2-0 record this postseason with a .929 sv%. With only 1 shutout, this proves that Tanner's numbers weren't inflated by multiple shutouts in the early rounds. He stood on his head as the Wolfpack's #1 netminder consistently throughout the playoffs. The leading goal scorer for the Wolfpack only had 7 goals, so it was up to Tanner to lead the way for a team that found success in scoring by committee. The trade that brought Tanner in from the Hamilton Steelhawks has to be considered highway robbery in hindsight, as he brought the Cup back to New England for the first time in a long time on the strength of his back and glove hand.

Today in "Championship Week Task 1" we are covering Patrikov Bure's performance in Game 4 of the Challenge Cup Finals against the Edmonton Blizzard. New England was up 3-0 prior to this game starting and were looking to finish the sweep. With a 5-0 victory for the New England Wolfpack, lets look at what Bure did to secure this decisive cup win. Bure picked up 2 assists, with his first as a primary assist on the 4th goal of the game, and the second with a primary assist on the 5th goal of the game (Mainio Makinena and Jonathan Lundberg being the goal scorers of each respective goal). Patrikov Bure was a force out on the ice for this game by being the only player out on the ice besides netminder Jakob Tanner for all 5 of the goals. With four shots and 1 hit also in the game, Bure played a phenomenal game that isn't as recognized as some of his teammates due to their performances being deemed better.

Task 1. Game 7 SMJHL Finals

The Halifax Raiders and Prince George Firebirds played a back and forth series that culminated in game 7 on Friday night between the two underdog teams. The Raiders came out of the game strong, making life on goaltended Ben Waters difficult. Waters was outstanding for the Firebirds and was able to keep the Raiders off of the scoreboard during the initial barrage of shots. The Raiders were playing with a little bit too much energy, Alex Reed took an early tripping penalty and Joey Ryan soon followed him to the penalty box. Sven Wolf would capitalize on the Firebirds second powerplay, scoring his fifth goal of the playoffs and giving Prince George a 1-0 lead. Kobe Bulgogi would add a second goal less than 3 minutes later and the Firebirds would end the first up 2-0, despite being outshot 13-8. Richard C. Hocolate sobered up in between periods and would be lights out the rest of the way. Reed Laing kicked off the scoring for the Raiders, scoring her league leading 12th goal of the post-season, on the powerplay, just under 5 minutes into the second period. Alexander Komarov bit off a finger, and the Firebirds were seemingly playing short-handed. The Raiders outshot the Firebirds 15-5 in the second period and had clearly grabbed the momentum heading into the 3rd period. The Raiders kept up the pressure and Kip O'Callahan scored his 1st goal of the post-season early in the third period. The game would remain scoreless until the final moments of the 3rd period, that's when Cleo Green fired home a nice pass from Taro Tsujimoto and the Raiders held on to secure the organizations second Four Star Cup.

Task 3.

While it will be a close race, I feel that the most valuable player of the Raiders 4 Star Cup win was Reed Laing. Laing played exclusively on the Raiders second line and performed at an elite level, stepping up her play significantly during the post-season. Reed scored a playoff leading 12 goals and added 9 assists, during the Raiders 18 game march to the cup. Laings 21 points tied with Prince George rookie Eduard Selich for the post-season lead. Reed scored 5 goals during the finals, including the 2nd period marker that started the Raiders comeback in game 7. Reed tied with teammates Joey Ryan and Isaac Kaiser for the highest plus/minus in the post-season with a +8 rating. Laing played in all situations, scoring 3 goals and totaling 7 points on the powerplay and scoring a shorthanded goal during game 1 of the finals. Reed played with fellow rookies Alex Reed & Isaac Kaiser, the trio made tremendous strides during the playoffs, becoming known as the KRL line. Others who should be in consideration include Colin Banning, Eduard Selich, Ben Waters and Victor Lindstrom.

Task 7

Task 8

The Season 30 Halifax Raiders featured a mix of send downs players and more rookies than any other team. The Raiders have seen their roster change quite a bit over the past few seasons. Richard C. Hocolate returned in goal giving the Raiders an experienced goaltender in between the pipes. The Raiders also had 4 send down defenseman; Blake Battle, Colin Banning, Victor Lindstrom, and Matthew Shea. Jean-Luc Reflieux was the Raiders only returning forward. Halifax focused on forwards early and throughout the draft, selecting forwards with 5 of their first 6 selections, and drafting 10 in total. Key players added up front included Pietra Volkova, Niklas Flower, Joey Ryan, Isaac Kaiser, Alex Reed, Reed Laing, Solaire Azarov and Kip O'Callahan. The Raiders also landed a pair of highly regarded defenseman in Toivo Kosonen and Greta Iversen. The Raiders signed potential franchise goaltender Georgette Pel shortly after the draft. Despite the addition of all of the talented players to an already talented core, the Raiders struggled to find a way to score goals. Veteran defenseman Matthew Shea was traded to the Montreal Militia for a veteran forward, Cleo Green, along with promising defenseman Brock Bailey. The Raiders finally started to click. The Raiders went on a 5 game winning streak and gained a lot of confidence heading into the post-season. On deadline deal, The Raiders made a last minute trade to acquire superstar center Casper Jakobsson. With some publications regarding Jakobsson as the best prospect not playing currently in the SHL, Jakobsson added a scoring element that had been missing up front prior to the trade. The Raiders veteran defense provided great play down the stretch and the Raiders were able to control the pace of play in almost all of their remaining games. The post-season saw the second line of Alex Redd, Isaac Kaiser and Reed Laing take their games to the next level and show the rest of the league that they have the potential to be among the future stars of the SHL.

Task 1:

The Seattle Riot take on the Calgary Dragons in the West’s first round of the playoffs. These two teams are no stranger to each other, having met many times in recent memory in the playoffs. Calgary has been getting the upper hand these past few years, winning a couple of cups in the process.

Who’s the favourite this year? The standings say the Calgary Dragons, but let’s break it down a bit more.

Calgary has a fantastic offence, but Seattle’s is also very dangerous. Esa Anrikken is the leader on the Calgary side, and Sean Leonidas leads the way for Seattle. David Benson is another great scorer for Seattle, actually lead his team in scoring this season. The offences are pretty difficult to split.

When looking at the defenders however, we know about Creller and Koskinen in Seattle, who score all kinds, but Calgary definitely have the edge, with one of the top scorers in the league, Bubba Nuck,

Finally, we compare an established goaltender, Hunter Wong and he faces off against rookie sensation Michael McFadden, it’s clear that Wong takes the edge here, but don’t count McFadden out yet.

Task 3:

When you take a look at who are the candidates for the most valuable player award in these SHL playoffs, only a couple players come to mind. The 2 top scorers, Pedro Srantez and Freidrich Muller. Along with the 2 starting goalies, Brett Broadway and Jakob Tanner.

My pick for the top player in the SHL Challenge cup playoffs, is Brett Broadway. Broadway has managed to win 7 games while only dropping 3 games. He’s also leading the league with a save percentage of .921. His Goals Against Average is also a top of the league, at 2.48.

Many will say, yeah well Edmonton is an all around great team, Broadway’s job is easy. Think again. He’s the goalie who has faced the most shots, with 331 and only let in 2 more goals than Tanner, yet playing 2 full games more than Tanner.

Theres a strong case to be made over all 3 of the Edmonton players to win the honour so far this post-season.

Task 5

The Seattle Riot take on the Edmonton Blizzard in the opening round of the playoffs.
Game 1, Brett Broadway show ladies and gentlemen. The Riot step their game up and dominate the show, but Broadway can not be beaten, Edmonton wins 2-0 scoring an empty netter in the final minute.

Game 2, both goalies are outstanding, Edmonton picks their play up, its a good well rounded game and Seattle gets the OT winner with David Benson as the hero. 2-1 final.

Game 3, after splitting the series in Edmonton, Seattle look to take home advantage and make good use of it. Michael Mc Fadden doesn’t have much work to do, but he’s perfect when he was tested, Seattle dominates again but this time wins 2-0.

Game 4, Edmonton comes out on fire, but McFadden is hard to beat. After 2 OT periods finished, it was Creller who smacks home the winner in tripple OT 2-1 final.

Game 5, McFadden’s rookie status shows in this game, after a great showing these playoffs, he is beaten one too many times in a pretty even contest, 4-3 the final.

Game 6, Seattle is perfect at home, but Edmonton was not going to be stopped tonight. 3-0 final, Colt with 3 points.

Game 7, its all on the line, both teams are scared to make a mistake, both goalies are outstanding, but it’s an unlikely hero in Jack Burton that scores late in the 3rd, 2-1 final. Seattle moves on.

Task 8

Dean Colt was a Hamilton faithful, he won so many times with the Steelhawks and when the Hawks decided to blow up the franchise, and trade away everyone, it was only a matter of time before Colt was shipped out.

Colt was shipped to the Edmonton to play for the Blizzard, while Simons and Clitsome who were considered to be the dynamic duo for Hamilton, went to Toronto.

Toronto failed to make the playoffs, while Colt is back in the finals again. He’s got 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 10 games. He's in the top 10 in hits with 27 hits in 10 games.

Colt could never have imagined to be traded to Edmonton and find his way back in the finals, could he? Well Colt has never been one that was shy of confidence, and if you ask him, he’d tell you he knew he was coming to Edmonton to win a cup, and he’s 4 games away from doing so.

What adds to this story, is the fact that he’s lining up against his former team, that drafted him, the New England Wolfpack. Colt has always stated his love for the Wolfpack and his desire to return to them one day, so it must be a bitter sweet moment for him, having a chance to win another cup, and doing it against NEW.

Cup winning goal; Dean Colt

TASK ONE
The first game in the S30 Playoff Finals occurred between the Edmonton Blizzard and the New England Wolfpack just recently. A back and forth game that featured a ton of saves and a ton of hits either way. The biggest point to take from this game was the amount go times the commentator mentioned the positive New England plays. The commentators for the second game have been rumoured to be more neutral and less bias towards one of the teams, but the jury is still out on if thats official or not. The positive for both teams is that in a one goal game, this series does look to be bright and possibly come down to one slip up or two. Going with the theme of slip ups, it appears both teams will have to do better in certain areas. Edmonton will have to control the face-off more than they did in the last game. New England will have to better with the extra man as they had a horrible effort on their power play in game one.

TASK TWO
[Image: Comparison.png]

TASK THREE
MVP for this postseason has to be none other than Pedro Sarantez who has 14 points in 10 games thus far. Pedro's 8 goals so far have led his team, as no other teammate is within 4 goals of that total. As something that is just short of a miracle, Pedro has yet to register a single hit in these playoffs. However, Sarantez isn't exactly a physical player and his offensive side is exactly what Edmonton has ordered off the menu. He is a lethal source of offence for the squad and has added 6 assists as well to share the bacon on his Edmonton squad. With a game winner and a game tying goal to his credit, Pedro has led by example. With a shooting percentage hovering around the 18% mark, Pedro might be one of the most feared snipers left in the playoffs. MVP would have to go to Pedro and he can solidify that in the final series.

TASK FIVE
The final series in the Season 30 Playoffs should be a good one. A good one that involves a lot of Edmonton Blizzard goals and shall be a good series. With all that said, the Edmonton Blizzard should come out victorious over a bunch of young kids who still need to grow up. Instead of watching game tape the Wolfpack apparently watch "My Little Pony" which someone says all you need to know about their focus and their maturity levels. The veteran Blizzard have been the the finals before and won, so they know how to pay attention and will use that to crush the little kids on the Wolfpack. The biggest matchup is in goal where young stalwart Brett Broadway looks to upset often distracted Jakob Tanner. Tanner is a solid goaltender but no one can say he has been a SHL great. Tanner reminds us a lot of Antti Niemi where he is an okay goaltender but will need to the team to carry him through. Broadway hasn't skipped a beat since being put in goal in early in the season. We think Edmonton should dispose of these pretenders and the New England Wolfpack will go back to drawing cartoons and watching them at the same time.

TASK EIGHT
The Edmonton Blizzard made the finals through veteran leadership and the ability to get the most out of their players. They have some very young roster players as well as some savvy veterans who get the job done. This team was built through drafting, free agency and trades; just the way a championship team would most likely be built. The funny part about this team is that it is spare parts from other teams and it makes the engine move. The Blizzard are a team full of superstars and star power which push them through. The depth lines chip in as well and take greta pride in their roles. Jaxson reynolds is a sniper by trade but has bought into the role of third line checker and he has been rewarded with a strong campaign. With a backend that makes the engine tick, this squad is powerful all the way through. We haven't even talked about Brett Broadway yet who is the new sheriff in town and has laid down the law throughout this season and into the postseason. The best part about this team is that every single player has bought in and they know that a cup can last a lifetime, whereas personal achievements can last only a season or too. This is a collective bunch full of power, humbleness and wise play.

BONUS: Who scores the cup winning goal?
Pedro Sarantez
