After a surprising lead after the first period, the Prince George Firebirds managed to take a 2-0 lead early in the second period. From then on out, Montreal dominated the game and managed to tie the game while still in the 2nd period. A scoreless, but hard-fought third period lead to overtime and neither team was able to score. A long shoot-out ended with the Firebirds winning the game.</center>

Three Stars

⋆⋆⋆ Ernesto Castro (PGF)
The defense-man for the Firebirds had an important assist for the first goal that gave Prince George the lead. He was also vital on the defense end, responsible for two hits and a crucial blocked shot.

⋆⋆ Brennan Kennedy (MTL)
Kennedy played on the left wing, both on the 2nd and the 4th line in this game. He played the most minutes of his entire team. Additionally he scored the tying goal for Montreal, his 7th of the season. He was all over the ice, adding 3 shots, 2 hits and a blocked shot as well.

⋆ Teodors Cukurs (PGF)
Teodors Cukurs opened the scoring in this game in the first period. Only his second goal of the season, the center on the second line for the Firebirds was fantastic today and added 3 shots and a hit to his successful game. The only critique on him would be his less than optimal face-off percentage, winning only 13 of 32 face-offs.

Post-Game Interview with Eduard Selich

While not among the three stars, Eduard Selich was an important man in this game. Scoring one goal during the game and adding a shootout goal as well, he was an important part of the Firebirds win, but he also had a costly penalty that lead to a Militia goal. We caught up with Eduard after the game and asked him a few questions.

How did it feel to win this game, especially thanks to your goal and your shoot-out goal which helped keep the game going and then to win it after?

It always is a great feeling to win a game but when you made major contributions yourself that win becomes even more gratifying. I mean thanks to my goal, which was only possible because Kristy and Tapper fed me passes, the score was at 2 to 0 for us but later in the 2nd period we took some dumb penalties which resulted in Montreal tying the game (I had one of these. Shame on me). Scoring the shoot-out goal to keep us in there is also a great experience. I struggled a bit in the shoot-outs earlier this season the bury the puck in the net so I am very happy that I was able to step up when needed.

I know you were getting frustrated with your goal percentage this season, how good did this goal feel for you personally?

To be honest this season so far is shaping up to be better than my Rookie season in which I had 15 goals and 12 assists. So I shouldn't be that frustrated but then again I was above a point-per-game player in the playoffs with 21 points in 17 games and led the league in playoff scoring therefore carrying PGF offensively in the finals. I thought I would be able to do this in this regular season too but yeah apparently things are shaping up differently. It felt good to score my 4th goal of the season but I am still hungry for more. I would love to have 50 points this season because I consider myself as one of the best forwards in the SMJHL right now.

How do you see this teams chances going forward?

think we can achieve the same thing that we achieved last year but this time please with one more postseason win! The playoffs are always a tricky thing and there is still a lot of time until they start but realistically anything can happen. A first round exit or us winning the Cup are both very possible but I would prefer the latter.

Thank you very much Eduard Selich!

Game Summary

The first period saw Montreal dominating from the start. While there was a bit of nervousness early on, both teams seemed to get comfortable soon and first shots on the goal were saved by both goalies. Against the initial dominance of Montreal, the Firebirds landed a counter attack, lead by Ernesto Castro, over to Trick Edwards, who found Teodors Cukurs open in front of the net and he scored!!!!. An unexpected early lead for the Firebirds, through the counter-attack even though they played at home.

The rest of the first period saw neither team score, though both teams had a good number of chances, especially coming on powerplay, twice for the Firebirds and once for the Militia thanks to penalties to Jeziak, Boone and Maatta. The lone goal of the period also happened during a 4vs4 situation after both Shnekinsen and Forbrook were called for hooking.

The second period was the most crucial one of the game. After only a minute, the Firebirds had their first attack of the period. An offensive masterpiece saw passes from Kottbulle to O'Sullivan, who finally put Eduard Selich in position to score and he did!!! 2-0 Firebirds that quickly after the start of the period. It was only the 2nd goal of the season for Selich who had been struggling a little and it was also the first assist of the season for O'Sullivan, the new addition of the Firebirds, who is already playing on the first line.

After that, Montreal started dominating even more, as the Firebird rested a bit after their surprising success. A penalty to NoRetornable only resulted in a few chances for the Militia, but a few minutes later the next powerplay could not be defended anymore. After a penalty to the aforementioned Selich, Montreal used the power-play to score their first goal of the night. Marcos Maciel with a pass to Nathan Russett and he finds Travis Jeziak who scored his 2nd goal of the season!!!

This was not the last power-play of the period though. After the Firebirds had a power-play (penalty to Hallfredsson) that they could not use, Montreal was back on the power-play after Obrana was called for Roughing. Filip Granlund played a smart pass to Wesley Wells, who in turn got the puck to Brennan Kennedy and he will not say no to that and scored his 7th goal of the season already!!!. The game was now all tied up!

Going into the third period, neither team seemed to have the advantage anymore. Montreal might have still had the better chances, but nothing came to fruition. Two more power-plays were not used for them and the Firebirds also did not use theirs. A tied game at the end of three periods meant we go to overtime!

Overtime was careful on both ends, nobody wanted to lose now. Only a very limited number of shots, none really dangerous. We all know what that means, we go to a shootout!

Marcos Maciel was the first to score in the shootout and while it looked like that could be the win for Montreal, Prince George had one last chance with Eduard Selich. While Selich struggled in the shootout so far this year, he was perfect here and kept the game going for the Firebirds. Eventually it was NoRetornable who scored for the Prince George Firebirds and gave them the win!!!

Both goalies were very good today, both saving 25 of 27 shots. Ben Waters gets the win and is now a fantastic 9-4-1 on the season.

HERE. WE. GO

With the season series in Vancouvers favour leading into this game 2-1 and outscoring the Firebirds 11-8, we come into the 4th meeting between these two conference rivals. With Vancouver on a 5 game winning streak and Prince George coming off a disappointing 4-0 loss to Kelowna the Firebirds looked hungry entering this game.

Period 1

A period completely dominated by the Firebirds on the shot clock, Prince george came out of the gate swining. They wanted to score early to get themselves off to a roll. Unfortunaely the Whalers and namely Wehner had other ideas and came out of the period laying as much body as possible and holding the fort against the barrage of shots. The Whalers D continued it's rather torrent pace of putting the puck in the net piling up the points. Despite being out worked in generating shots the Whalers come out ahead just barely.

After a bit of a scramble play in the Firebirds zone, Lindstrom finds himself a lucky recipiant of a pass right out front and makes no mistakes as he tucks a back hand pass Waters to put the Whalers up 1-0.

-Victims of the Whalers in the first: Castro | Cukurs | Caelum | Obrana x3 | Edwards | Boone

Shots - VAN: 4 || PGF: 15

Period 2

The Whalers seeming like they had learned from their mistake the 1st period of playing the game half asleep while their goaltender bails them out, woke up to produce a much more competitive period. The Firebirds only down by 1 stepped up their physical game a bit against the Whalers, but started to ignore getting the puck to the Whalers net not leaving much work for Wehner to stop. The Whalers managed a 2nd goal near the back part of the period to put them in a more comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the final period of play.

Vancouver Whalers , Victor Lindstrom 4 (Dusty Cox, Corey Bearss) at 15:53

https://streamable.com/rv74 - Replay

After a sequence which saw the Whalers throwing 5 shots at the net in a matter of 15 seconds finally resulted in a goal again from Lindstrom to put them in a more comfortable lead of 2-0. After the made scramble Lindstrom found himself with a bit of time moving down toward the face off dots and made no mistake making sure to get it up and over Waters.

The hit parade

- Victims of the Firebirds in the second: Koch Schröder | Brooks | Owen |Llewellyn x 2 | Kaiser

-Victims of the Whalers in the Second: Cukurs | Riccardelli | Obrana | Selich
Shots - VAN: 8 || PGF: 4

Period 3

The period where this stopped being a game and became a rout. Vancouver now smelling blood went in full force after the Firebirds and did not let up. Repaying the favour of shots in the first period the Whalers were all over the Firebirds while limiting them to next to no shots all while depositing another 3 into the net. Vancouvers Adam Kaiser continued his torrent pace for points by being a part of 2 of the 3 goals and sent Vancouver home with smiles with the now dominant win.

Vancouver Whalers , Jon Ross 4 (Adam Kaiser) at 0:57

https://streamable.com/5pqe - Replay

After a poor attempt to clear the puck Vancouver found itself a gift off the delfection from a body straight to a pinching Kaiser to a now wide open Ross to tuck it in to start to put the game out of reach.

Vancouver Whalers , Adam Kaiser 7 (Ieuan Llewellyn) at 8:33

https://streamable.com/g0xl - Replay

Kaiser coming down the boards to keep the play alive then heads to the front of the net to then tuck one in after the fan from Llewellyn right out in front to put the game out of reach only half way through the 3rd.

Vancouver Whalers , Seppo Repo 1 (John Brooks, Alex Mbb) at 18:14

https://streamable.com/ohn3 - Replay

Getting his first goal like you'd almost suspect, Repo the player who normally speaks with his finds some junk out front after the failed attempt to squeeze the puck and like the garbage man cleans up the trash and sends the Firebirds home with a now convincing 5th goal.

The hit parade

- Victims of the Firebirds in the Third: Latta x2 | Stamkos Jr. x2
-Victims of the Whalers in the Third: Pham | Castro

Shots - VAN: 8 || PGF: 2

3 Stars ***

1 - Adam Kaiser (VAN)

G: 1 | A:2 | PTS: 3 | MP: 20:06 | +/-: 4

Even though Kaisers offensive efforts came later in the game for the Whalers he was still a huge factor through out the game being on the ice for 4 of the 5 goals scored and leading the way again in points. A season where he seems on fire Kaiser earns the 1st star for his complete play this game while pushing the offense.

2 - Maximilian Wehner (VAN)

SV%: 1.000% | SO: 1 | GAA: 0.00

His first period efforts alone held the team in the game in order to be allowed to even try for and push for a win. Shutting the Firebirds out the rest of way, he was a steady force in the net for the Whalers, and earns the shutout and the 2nd star.
3 - Victor Lindstrom (VAN)

G: 2 | A:0 | PTS: 2 | MP: 20:15 | +/-: 3

The man who started the Vancouver offensive after a rough start gets the team going and the score climbing up. The Whalers Defense man shows he is not about to be left behind by Kaiser and pots 2 really huge goals for the Whalers to get them back into the game.

<div align="center">SMJHL Today: Game 51
Falcons Detroit Falcons @ St Louis Scarecrows Scarecrows
Final Score: 4-2 Scarecrows</div>

Hello, one and all, to yet ANOTHER scintillating repetition of SMJHL Today. In today's edition, we're going to discuss a rivalry that is already so relevant in this young S31 that we're going to change some of our usual programming format! The Detroit Falcons and the St Louis Scarecrows have had some bitter matchups so far this season--4, to be exact. Considering they have 4 more times to play each other over the course of the remaining 30-something games, we here at SMJHL Today felt it necessary to summarize the other three games we aren't recapping. That way, we highlight what made this game especially awesome ... or business as usual. You don't know yet, after all. We do, but, yeah. Keep reading. THIS game proved to be a nuisance for some players who swore they had boxing practice today. The Scarecrows pulled this one out in the end, 4 goals to 2.

Tale of the Tape
This game we're recapping - Game 51 on our master schedule - was the 2nd of 4 times these two teams have met thus far. Since it's fairly rare to stumble across such a series when recapping specific games, we made the executive programming decision of summarizing these matchups, too:
  • Game 40: Scarecrows 3-2 (SO)
While Detroit actually led off the scoring just four minutes into the first period (Henrik Vikstrom's third of the year), a pair of Scarecrows rookies made their debut on the scoresheet, both receiving help from veteran defenseman Rhaegar Targaryen. Then, the Detroit defense kicked in. They allowed just FIVE shots by the Crows in the remaining 40 minutes of regulation. In the beginning of the third, Jari Sinikka scored a powerplay goal to tie things up. Overtime was a defensive standstill, each team only allowing a single shot. In the shootout, Dos Diablo got the game winner past Sivy McSieve.
  • Game 51: ...We'll get to this, hold your horses Wink
  • Game 55: Falcons 4-3
The second leg of a home-and-home, Detroit did not want the same outcome as the other night. They opened play up similar to how the first game winded down; a goal from Jari Sinikka on the powerplay gave them a 1-0 lead. Wouldn't you know it, though, Sinikka was sent to the box 3/4 through the 1st period and Rhaegar Targaryen scored in the last 20 seconds of the power play. Sure enough, Joey Ryan put one home a few minutes later--the Falcons scored on TWO of FIVE shots in the first; rough night for Kyle Wahlgren. The game went back and forth, and Tremaine Versace's first of the season was a game winner, but the momentum was all Detroit for 60 minutes.
  • Game 64: Scarecrows 3-2
This game proved to be rather enjoyable, as it looked like a defensive standstill through the first 7:30 of play. Then on the powerplay, DarryL Landry opened up the scoring for the Crows to go up 1-0. Just one minute later, it was Jason Visser scoring his 5th of the year, and all of a sudden the Crows had a comfortable lead. Almost as soon as it came about, however, the lead was 1 again thanks to Jari Sinikka - the very same person who was in the box for Landry's goal! Funny how things go full circle like that ... almost as funny as the number of times I've already mentioned Sinikka's name. Both goalies played well, but it was Joe Kurczewski who got one of his seven shots to fall in at the end of the second, and a very defensively sound 3rd period got St Louis 2 points.
Plays of the Game
Alright, now that that's out of the way, it's time for a few highlights. There are two moments in this game that truly stand out, and the first one is hardly something that'll show up in the scoring summary. There's no denying that these two teams have some of the most physical players in the entire league, namely Danny Foster for St Louis and Zach Evans for the Falcons. These guys don't even have to be the ones hitting on any given night; their physical prowess is contagious. Tonight, however, it was indeed Evans who got himself ... and some others ... involved in something late in the 2nd:

"Bobandy dumps the puck back down the ice, and both teams go for a change ... Alexis Metzler picks it up for Detroit ... and dumps it back the OTHER way realizing no one is back yet. Now Dos Diablo for the Crows ... and Evans lights him up! Oh no, here comes Glover - he did NOT like that hit and they're gonna go! Glover has his right glove off and he's taking off Evans' helmet! Evans is usually one to fight but he doesn't like this matchup.

"...What's this? Now VISSER is going after a Falcon ... is that Bailey? Yes, Jason Visser and Brock Bailey trading some words and now THEY'RE gonna go! Flurries of punches from both men here, really quick ... I don't know if any of them are really landing. More of a frustration fight than anything. Back to the Evans fight and OH, my goodness, that's it. Glover got him with a straight right that booked Evans a trip to the locker room. He's leaking on the ice and the refs are writing it up. Are we still playing hockey?"

Believe it or not, they WERE still playing hockey, as was mostly showcased in the 3rd period, when all of the ruffians had already taken their showers. The two teams had exchanged powerplay goals to start the scoring in the 3rd. Then Terrance Nova tied things up at 2 at the 14:00 mark. It was an intense game in the final minute, until someone emerged ...

"It's Merica against Visser in the circle after the offside call. Just over a minute and a half left in this 2-2 game. The puck goes to Visser! He gets it back to Targaryen and the Scarecrows are on the offensive again. Lots of shots in this 3rd period. Targaryen looks for Diablo -- picked off by Kylrad! Kylrad moving up the left side. He passes to Ghost Bear, and Derrick Glover takes it back for St Louis ... Detroit is way too far forward to defend a fast break here, could this be it? 70 seconds left! Visser's there! Glover finds him ---- Goal Goal Goal GOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!! Goal Goal Goal Visser BOLTED through the Falcons defensemen who were still moving forward with Kylrad. What a game winner, provided there aren't any late heroics."

There weren't. An empty netter made it a 4-2 final in what was the closest game these two teams have played all season.

Your Three Stars
★ - Dos Diablo had 2 goals and a +3 rating in just 13 minutes of play, making his line and his overall play easily the best of the night. Although he gave up the puck late to Kylrad, his line stayed resilient and that's important!
★★ - Terrance Nova scored an amazing game-tying-goal when the game was winding down. While it's unfortunate he couldn't find the net again in overtime or even get to take a penalty shot in a shootout, he fought valiantly and had to pick up the pieces from the fighters.
★★★ - Joe Kurczewski had an assist on Diablo's first goal and played a solid defensive game, posting 2 hits. I have to say, though, why not give it to Jason Visser who put away the game winner -- or even Kyle Wahlgren who saved 26 out of 28 in a tight game? There must have been 4 or 5 people who could have been put here, not to take away from Joe K's night.

The Prince George Firebirds Firebirds Vs Scarecrows The St-Louis Scarecrows

If you tuned in last night to watch the Prince George Firebirds take on the Saint Louis Scarecrows, we could probably guess which team you were cheering on by this simple observation; did you watch the entire game?

If you did, then you are probably a Crows fan! And if you didn't, well it didn't end well for the Firebirds.

The Crows broke out of the gate with a commanding lead in the shot department, 10-4, but waited until the last 5 minutes of the first period to register the game's first goal. It was Weber that fed Hanley, who ripped a shot, deflected in front by Glover who records his first goal of the season. The Firebirds went on to take a penalty immediately following the goal, which resulted in Ronnie Westbrook, stoping the dump at the blue line, feeding Joe Kurczewski on the half boards who Stammer styled one timer into the back of the net! 2 zip Crows after the first.

In the 2nd, things were slow, 6-2 were the shots for the Crows, they had 2 opportunities on the powerplay, while PGF had just 1. No goals were scored, it remained 2-0.

At this point, the Crows had only allowed 6 shots on goal, which must have been incredibly frustrating for Firebirds fans. However, it only got worse in the 3rd, the Crows turned up the heat shooting 13 times, and only allowing 4 shots on Wahlgren. It took 13 minutes for the Crows to make it 3-0, when Joe Kurczewski tried a similar shot off the half boards, this time passed by Visser, but Waters made the stop, it was Landry on the doorstep to bury the rebound.

This was probably the point where most Firebirds fans turned off their TV, but if you were still watching, the Crows added one more, it was Joe Kurczewski again, this time he was sent in alone and scored on the back hand.

Ben Waters made 25 saves from 29 shots and Kyle Wahlgren had an easy night at the office, but remained perfect on the 10 shots he faced.

The 3 stars were

1 - Joe Kurczewski (STL) with 2 goals 1 assits
2 - DarryL Landry (STL) with 1 goal
3 - Derrick Glover (STL) with 1 goal

Joe Kurczewski is our MVP tonight, with his 2 goals and his helper, but also for his 5 shots on goal, his 2 hits and 2 shot blocks, it was a great all around night for the youngster.

Thank you for watching, and until next time!

Game 24
[Image: ox2XFvL.png]

Scoring Summary
Alright fifteen minutes into the fucking game and rookie d-man for the Crows Max Weber picks up a loose puck and carries it into the attack zone. Dude turns that shit over, but quickly takes it back from Johnny Pollak. Weber fires it in deep from the blue line for King Hanley behind the net. Now Hanley will fuck your day up and deke your ass into prolapse if you don't put the body on him. Hanley carried that bitch along the left wing boards, before darting across and firing a shot in the slot that went off Derrick Glovers juicy ass for his first career goal.

Bam three seconds later Hylytyr NoRetornable takes a hooking penalty right after the Crows score, and the power play makes PGF pay quickly -Westbrook gets ejected from the draw, and the VIsshound comes in to win possession for the power play. Fuck he lost it actually god damnit, the Firebirds cleared it down the length of the ice off the stick of Obrana, that dirty whore. Westbrook was back to pick it up before he swung it up to Kurczewski curling at the blue line. One head pump to the left, and Joe goes right fooling Cukurs. He fucks one defenders life up by walking right through him and shelfs the fuck out of Ben Waters
[Image: oG10PdF.gif]

No goals for a while until 13 minutes into the third where Whalgren settled the puck behind his net for Landry and Rivet fresh off the bench. They played catch before working the puck into the neutral zone, Kurczewski carried it into the Prince George end and dropped it to Visser at the blue line -Visser sends it back to Kurczewski along the boards, he works it up to the bottom of the left wing circle and rings one of the post! Waters is fucking lost and DL23 is there to hit the open net from the opposite side of the ice.

Just two minutes later Hylytyr NoRetornable turned the puck over to Dos DIablo in his own end! Diablo's trapped at the blue line and carries it out to keep possesion, Kurczewski is striding the other way up the center of the ice and Diablo finds a lane, Joe Mo'fuckin Kurczewski rips a shot hard and low after crossing the blue line and Waters sends a rebound right back to him! He raises his stick from the top the of the right wing circle and get's one defender to drop, Kurczewski cuts to the center of the ice and let's it fly hard and low again and finds the back of the fucking net, my god what a legend.

3 Stars
Kurczewski put up 2G and 1A on five fucking shots, hit two bitches and he is your first star with out a doubt. Dude is getting used to putting the team on his back and leading the offense, this game was nothing new, but hey quality performance, well deserved n shit.

DarryL Landry was one of seven players to register a point besides JK81, but he put five shots on goal, sacrificed the body with a shot blocked, and managed to stay out of the box. Not a lot more you can ask for #2 like achoo

Derrick Glover was awarded third star honors after scoring his first goal, only had one shot all night playing nearly 19 minutes... Glover struggled on the dot going 6/23 but shit, he probably like.. skated fast... yeah i he was fast as fuck guys and I heard he rubbed one out during the 2nd intermission -he's your 3rd star.

Kyle Whalgren had a 10 save shut out... yeah go Kyle you are sung now

Just like last season, the shot opened up to a Fox Sports One banner, and then zoomed in towards a radio desk, where world-famous sportscasters Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole sat, headsets on, ready and raring to go. They looked a lot more put together than last time we saw them.

Jay: Well Dan, can you believe it? Our sponsor has actually asked us to come back for another exciting season of SMJHL recaps!

Dan: Well clearly our ratings must have been through the roof, so it’s a no brainer. Who else could possibly call a better highlight package than us?

Jay: Right you are Dan. Happy to say that a sponsor has finally stuck with us for longer than two months, and we are delighted to bring you another exciting season of post-game-shows from the Fox Sports One studio!

Fake applause is heard and an audible “**** yeah!” (they have this on loop, obviously).

Dan: And why don’t we just get down to business right now. Our first game up features the reigning SMJHL 4-Star cup champions, the Halifax Raiders in a rematch against the Prince George Firebirds from the cup finals that went to game seven!

Jay: Ah, what a glorious series that was. You know, we were tapped to call a live-cast in the finals, but then a bunch of jerks from other stations got to their studios faster than we could and began calling the games before us! I mean SMJHL officials … wouldn’t you have liked to give this deserving crew the opportunity to call at least one game?? ORGANIZERS … WOULDN’T IT HAVE BEEN A TREAT TO GIVE US AT LEAST ONE GAME??? MAYBE NEXT TIME???

The monitor behind the pair flashes up a swanky SMJHL graphic, and away we went.

<div align="center">Game 19: Prince George Firebirds Firebirds vs Halifax Raiders raiders

Dan: The Firebirds come to town looking for some kind of revenge tonight, as goaltender Ben Waters, who basically stood on his head for the duration of the playoffs last season, tries to topple the man who snatched the crown out from under him at the last second in Dick Ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hocolate!

<b><div align="center">First Period</div></b>
Jay: Best name in the biz, easily. Pick this one up just under a minute in, as Alex Reed of the Raiders gets called for slashing. I gotta say Dan, he looked like an uncoordinated cacophony waving that stick there. He looked like I do after a night at the Pal in Winnipeg.

Dan: But for some reason this penalty seemed to inspire the Raiders, because they seem to rally behind Reeder being in the box, and manage to score the first goal of the game on some beautiful passing, Ryan to Azarov to Kosonen, back to Ryan baaack to Kosonen, over to Komarov who drops it back yet again to Ryan, who fires a pass over to Azarov who hammers it home!

Jay: We call that a tic-tic-tic-tic-tic … -tic-TAC-toe play! Just like Coach Stevens drew it up behind the bench!

Jay: Alright, and now let’s play that goal over and over and over again, because pretty much – nothing – and I mean nothing happens for the next 40 minutes of the game! I think they had about 10 shots each but aside from Baraaaaaaaaaack Obrana going on a penalty spree in the second frame, nothing the hell happened!

Dan: Can’t we do better than that? Can’t we hype this up as a tense see-saw affair? Isn’t there some kind of glorious strategy that we can build up … like a coaching duel or something? Or both goalies standing on their heads in an epic war??

Jay: Well we could try and do that, but wouldn’t you rather squeeze in an episode of Mr. Robot right now and then come back for the third?

Dan: See you in the third!

<b><div align="center">Second Period</div></b>
***Watching Mr. Robot***

Dan: I still have no idea what’s going on. Who the hell is Mr. Robot? And why the hell is that married Danish couple so damn weird?

Jay: … And kinky. You’ve never tried out some of those things with the wife?

Dan: Honestly … I don’t even know if I’m still married right now …

Jay: Aaaaaaaaaand were back – Raiders in more penalty trouble … and this time the ‘birds make them pay as the Boooonehammer tips one in on Dickey, off a scintillating shot by the Sellisher!

Dan: A second assist goes to Mr. President, and we’re all tied up!

Jay: Holy crap, Reed Laing is really blowing her brains out right now. Already the Raiders culprit on the Firebirds first power-play goal, she finds herself back in the box six minutes later on a double minor for roughing. I gotta say, she looks as wasted as Reed did out there early in the first!

Dan: Maybe it’s not watermelon slices and juice boxes at the intermission for these guys. What’s gotten into her!

Jay: And it doesn’t take long to capitalize, just thirty seconds into the advantage, off a missed shot by the president, Tom … Toms? Shneckiner – SHNECKISTIEN – Schnecker? Yeah – SCHNECKER bangs it home to give Prince George the lead!

<div align="center"> 3. Prince George Firebirds, Toms Shnekinsen 1 (Barak Obrana, Frederick Boone) at 8:24 (PP)

Dan: And you can see Laing throw the Gatorade in the box. She’s livid with herself!

Jay: And well she should be.

Dan: And to add insult to injury, late in the third, with the Raiders pressing, Laing takes her fourth minor of the period for hooking this time! She’s lost the plot!.

Jay: I wish I only got two minutes for hooking.

Dan: And that will run out the game! Prince George exacts a small measure of revenge in winning this game in Halifax, to the dismay of the local fans who see their championship team off to a poor start this season.

Jay: Definitely not the same pain as losing the cup would be, but it’s something for the plane ride home at least.

</div>
Dan: Hey, the sim actually put out reasonable stars this time, with the winning team getting the top two! Maybe this is a sign of a new and improved simulator??

Jay: To be fair, in our first game last year it had reasonable stars. So we’ll have to give it a few more trials. Gotta feel good for Waters to beat Hocolate in the rematch here. Although these two could play 100 games against each other and probably win 50 each.

Dan: Which is about as many games as they play each other in a regular season.

Jay: Oh, the joys of an eight team league. Everyone plays everyone a million times! Everyone makes the playoffs!

Dan: A millennial definitely runs this league, eh?

Jay: Participation trophies for everyone! We’ll see you next week!

The Detroit Falcons Falcons Vs Firebirds Prince George Firebirds

Welcome everyone to tonights post game show, where we will be recapping the action that took place between the Detroit Falcons and the Prince George Firebirds.

The first period was a physical one, 5 penalties accorded in total, 3 to Detroit and 2 to Prince George. However, Prince George was all over Detroit from start to end of this period, it seemed like Detroit could only get chances on their powerplays. The shots were 11-6 for the birds of fire, but they could not beat McSieve, and headed into the 2nd with a 0-0 draw.

In the 2nd period, the story was incredibly different, with only 6 shots on goal this time, the Firebirds took a 2-0 lead, despite Detroit dominating the scoring chances with 14 shots on target. The secret? Powerplays!

Josh Merica took an early penalty which the Birds scored on within just 4 seconds in the penalty, when Boone made a great move off the draw, Castro getting the loose puck and finding an un-marked Selich who fired it home. Not even a full minute later, Free took a penalty, and the Birds scored again at the 3:01 mark of the 2nd period, with a goal from Cukurs, who deflected a shot as he was crossing the shooting late, Noretornable was the shooter of a one timer, set up by Wolf.

That woke the Falcons up, as they went on to dominate the period, but Waters stood tall. In the 3rd, it was nearly the same show shots wise, 15-6 this time for Detroit, but they managed to score on, on the powerplay as well, just 42 seconds in. Vikstrom has the puck in the corner, dug out it to Metzler who passed to Evans right in the slot, and he made no mistake.

The Falcons pressed hard to get their tying goal, but Waters was outstanding, and Selich added his 2nd of the season near the final minute of the game, when Boone and Pollack set him up with a beautiful tic tac play on the 3-1.

The 3 stars for tonight are:

1 - Eduard Selich (PGF) with 2 goals
2 - Ben Waters (PGF) with 34 out of 35 saves
3 - Frederick Boone (PGF) with 2 assits

Our MVP for tonight, well it has to be Ben Waters. He took an onslaught of shots in the last 2 periods. I mean, 35 in a game is a lot, but to think his first period he only faced 6 shots. That means 29 in 2 periods. He was only beaten once, and was the key to the Firebirds winning this one.

Thanks for tuning in again, and until next time!

The Militia will be hoping to recover from their slow start, with hopes that Nathan Russett will return to his preseason form and Brennan Kennedy can contribute more as their top left winger. Keep an eye out for Alexis Metzler in the Falcons jersey, as he has been red hot all season and should be a driving force for Detroit tonight.

Three Stars

2. Alexis Metzler (1-0-1, -1) Falcons
As expected, Detroit's leading forward helped them earn another victory for their successful season. He scored the game winner on the powerplay tonight, and did a thorough job of wearing out Montreal's defense.

<center>Day 25, Game 56</center>
<center>Game Link</center>

Short Game Preview: Colorado looking to continue their recent success, while Montreal looks to turn around poor play thus far.

Goals:

Code:
1. Colorado Mammoths , Martin Svensson 8 (Matthew Leetch, Taro Eichelele) at 10:25
Quote:Martin Svensson wins the draw back. Leetch at the point has it. Sends it down to Eichelele. Turns toward the net. No shot. Feeds it back to Leetch, blasts it towards the net!! Save!! Rebound and a goal!! Martin Svensson strikes first and Colorado is on the board.

Code:
2. Montreal Militia , Jason Forbrook 2 (Marcos Maciel, Travis Jeziak) at 14:37 (PP)
Quote:Montreal breaking out now. Defender falls down, it's a 3-on-1!! Forbrook to Maciel to Jeziak to Maciel back to Forbrook...SCORE!! Montreal ties it!! An odd man rush for the Militia ends positively with a goal.

Code:
3. Montreal Militia , Ryan Vas 1 (Viktor Nerokov, Marcos Maciel) at 16:18 (PP)
Quote:Maciel who's had a good night tonight, carries it up the side. Drops it off to Nerokov. Nerokov loses it but it finds it's way onto the stick of Vas and he buries it!! Montreal now up two one.

Code:
4. Colorado Mammoths , Jacob Renninger 5 (Colton Hagan, Maverick O'Dooley) at 1:31
Quote:O'Dooley at the point, nice play off the boards to Hagan. Hagan with a nice spin move and throws it on goal and it goes in!! I believe Renninger may have gotten a piece of it. My goodness a fluke goal it looked like, but if Renninger tipped that, which I believe he did, than that's very good work by him getting a piece of that.

Code:
5. Montreal Militia , Brennan Kennedy 6 (Filip Granlund, Viktor Nerokov) at 16:14 (PP)
Quote:Montreal on the power play. Nerokov backhands a soft shot on net. Rebound pops out and Granlund is there. Now a scrum out in front. Militia digging for it. Puck jars loose and Kennedy is there to put it home!! It squirted out and he got there first. Colorado wanted a whistle. They didn't get it. Montreal on top.

Code:
6. Colorado Mammoths , Taro Eichelele 3 (Martin Svensson) at 9:43 (PP)
Quote:Colorado has a golden opportunity to tie the game here. Svensson wins the draw...SCORE!! Right off the face off. Eichelele one-times it top shelf and the game is tied folks.

Code:
7. Montreal Militia , Jason Forbrook 3 (Johnny Watson, Brennan Kennedy) at 12:18
Quote:Krysak for Colorado, shoots, puck goes wide and rings around the boards. Here's an odd man rush for Montreal back down the other way, it's a 3-on-2 for the Militia. Forbrook drops it off to Kennedy with Watson crashing the net. Kennedy SHOOTS!! Tipped in front by Watson and wide. Rebound pops off the boards right to Forbrook...SCORES!! And just like that, Montreal has regained the lead, this time with under eight minutes to go in the game.

TSN Turning Point: It had been a back and forth type game, up until this one goal. Forbrook scored his second of the game and Montreal never looked back. Colorado couldn't get another goal and eventually lost the game 4-3. Had Montreal not scored, the game may have gone to overtime or a shootout (which Colorado has been good in this season).

Short Game Summary: In the end, it was one of the closer games this season with the result coming down to one goal mid-way through the third. An evenly matched game otherwise, a tough loss for Colorado, but a much needed win for Montreal.

Game MVP:
No doubt this goes to Jason Forbrook. Not only did he have two goals, but one of them was the game winner. Forbrook also generated six shots on goal. He didn't do much else besides those, but the two goal and game winner were enough to award him tonight's game MVP.

<div align="center">Detroit Falcons @ St. Louis Scarecrows</div>

Game 64
[Image: xN1kLKh.png]

Scoring Summary

Code:
1. St. Louis Scarecrows , DarryL Landry 3 (Jason Visser) at 7:44 (PP)
Sinikka went to the box for being a dirty whore and put the Crows to the man advantage six minutes into the game. The Falcons cleared their zone, and stopped St. Louis in the neutral zone a few times before DarryL Landry got on the ice and retrieved a loose puck in his own end. Landry found Visser in the neutral zone who managed to hang on to it long enough to enter the zone and find Landry at the point. Ronnie Westbrook was tied up in front with Prince Daniel James and McSieve never saw DL23's shot. Got fucked big time by the Crows PP.

Code:
2. St. Louis Scarecrows , Jason Visser 5 (Rhaegar Targaryen, Dos Diablo) at 8:47

One fuckin' minute later and the Crows control the puck in the Detroit end on the stick of Targaryen-Jason Visser and him exchange passes along the left wing boards before Visser fires one wide. Diablo the god damn legend picks it up, swings it back to Targaryen at the point -motherfuckin' one touch passes it to Visser at the top of the left wing circle. The Visshound does some shit who knows it went in though, maybe he curled into the center and fired a shot, or what if he let the pass go by him -chased the puck into the corner, took his cock out and wrote his name in the corner while dangling the fuck out Zach Evans and shot the puck off the back of McSieve's bald head for the goal? You decide.

Code:
3. Detroit Falcons , Jari Sinikka 6 (Matthew Rossi, Sami Free) at 8:54

Fuck the Falcons came back real quick, just 7 seconds after the 2nd goal for St. Louis Sinkika buried it after Sami Free won the face off against Westbrook and the Crows top line. Rossi skated it into the St. Louis end and fired one from blue line that bounced up the center of the ice onto the stick of Jari Sinikka. Wally was getting the shakes after just nine minutes in goal and could really use another drink it was obvious so the Crows called him a time out so he could get a proper drink.

Code:
4. Detroit Falcons , Kyle Kylrad 7 (Alexis Metzler, Jari Sinikka) at 13:06 (PP)

Derrick Glover the beautiful sexy white and gifted rookie for St. Louis caught Joey Ryan with a high stick and took a seat in the penalty box, he didn't have enough time to rub one out and he knew that, but it didn't stop him from giving it a few tugs while he watched Josh Merica skate the puck into the offensive zone -Merica looses the puck but Nova, fuckin' Nova picked that shit up and gave it to Metzler a dangermouse man from Austria, Venzia the city of gay pride and marijuana. Alexis Metzler is challenged by Jason Visser at the point, but the Visshound can't do shit before Kyle Kylrad received Metzlers sauce down low. Kylrad curls around the net avoiding the sticks of Kurczewski and Weber and beats Whalgren to the fuckin post on the wrap around.

Code:
5. St. Louis Scarecrows , Joe Kurczewski 6 (Danny Foster, Rhaegar Targaryen) at 15:37

Awh shit the Falcons had the Scarecrows pinned in their end, Whalgren had frozen the puck a number of times before Rhaegar Targaryen intercepted a pass from Metzler and hit Joe Kurczewski fresh off the bench who tore into the Detroit end 2 on 1 with Foster with Jari Sinikka back for Detroit. Foster took a pass from Kurczewski and McSieve came out to challenge towards the right face off circle before it was sent right back to the big man for the Scarecrows Joe Kurczewski on the back door.

3 Stars

Code:
1 - Jason Visser (STL)
Jason must have worked his ass off through his 21 minutes played cause he looked like a real bitch on the draw all night -was scored on killing a penalty but fuck 12/30 just not cutting it taking face offs, nonetheless the first star with 1G 1A, took 3 shots and hit Joey Ryans bitch ass at the start of the game after he lost the goddam draw

Code:
2 - Danny Foster (STL)
Fuck Foster had 6 hits in 14 minutes played what a fucking guy. He went +2 and didn't take any penalty minutes, best thing you can get from an enforcer especially when the team sucks at killing penalties so makes some fuckin sense Foster is the #2 star. He blocked a shot as well off the stick of Prince Daniel James shortly after the first goal of the game was scored so good on him settling things down n shit.

Code:
3 - Rhaegar Targaryen (STL)
Targaryen played nearly six minutes on the power play and notched one assist on the man advantage, and one during 5v5 play. He intercepted 17 fucking passes which is cool most other guys who played as many minutes have 5-10 with exception of Rivet, Metzler and Evans who all did some good shit. Either way the two assists make Targaryen more sexually attractive and therefore star #3.

unsung balls and whatever jsut cause

Metzler intercepted 19 passes

Ronnie Westbrook went 20/34 in the face off circle, huge ass workload.

Casper Ek was the closest player to playing 4 minutes and 20 seconds with 4:49, but Randy Bobandy had a strong performance with 7:20 so your imagination can kind of make up the dream.

<div align="center">GAME 55 - ST. LOUIS SCARECROWS VS. DETROIT FALCONS

Scarecrows 3-4 Falcons
</div>

Entering the game on a five-game losing streak, Detroit needed to shake things up to improve their team performance. They did just that, trading Henrik Vikstrom to Halifax for Joey Ryan. Ryan made his presence known immediately, scoring a goal and an assist in his first game with Detroit as part of a 4-3 win over St. Louis

GAME LINK

Joey Ryan made an indelible mark in his Detroit Falcons debut, tallying a goal and an assist in Detroit’s 5-3 win over the St. Louis Scarecrows.

Ryan, a center in the Manhattan Rage pipeline, played an integral part in scoring the victory for Detroit. Between his two points and his 11-for-16 performance on faceoffs, Ryan was crucial in helping the Falcons snap a five-game losing streak.

Detroit opened the scoring early, as Jari Sinikka scored on a slap shot following a Ryan face-off win. St. Louis equalized late in the first period, as Rhaegar Targaryen scored a power play goal. However, Ryan pushed Detroit back in front just before the intermission, tucking away a rebound after missed shots from Zach Evans and Adam Greenholm.

Jace Smith extended Detroit’s lead to two goals, scoring six minutes into the second period with assists from Joe Gray and Matthew Rossi. Jets prospect Jason Visser dragged St. Louis back into the contest over the remainder of the period, scoring two goals. The first came 7:22 into the second period on a power play from an Alexis Metzler holding penalty. Visser notched the tying goal with 3:47 remaining in the period.

Falcons rookie Tremaine Versace notched his first career goal to open the third period, and it proved to be the game-winner. The California native’s goal came just 34 seconds into the final period, cleaning up a Prince Daniel James miss for the goal.

TURNING POINT

Versace's game-winning goal came early in the third period, but the turning point came just before the teams went to the locker room for the second intermission. Noted goon Danny Foster picked up a hooking penalty with just 16 seconds remaining in the second period, creating a Falcons power play to open the final frame. Versace capitalized on this advantage, and that made the difference in the game.

THREE STARS

Third Star, Rhaegar Targaryen, St. Louis: Targaryen scored a first-period goal, while assisting on the first of two Jason Visser goals in the second period. Targaryen also blocked a pair of shots in the final minute of the game, which admittedly didn’t mean shit but sure helped pad those stats. Insert Game of Thrones reference even though I don’t watch.

Second Star, Jason Visser, St. Louis: The Visshound’s pair of goals brought the Scarecrows back into the contest after falling behind by two scores. It wasn’t enough to maintain what had been a blemishless record for St. Louis against the Falcons this season, but it sure looked cool.

First Star, Joey Ryan, Detroit: Making a nice first impression, The King of Dong Style tallies two points in his first game with the Falcons. His face-off success helped his team as well (and directly led to a goal), Hopefully this is the start of a great season in Detroit for Ryan. What? Nobody else wants that? Well, to hell with y’all.

NOTEBOOK

Zach Is Back?: The Falcons victory snapped a five-game losing streak, but that was not the only cold spell broken tonight. Detroit winger Zach Evans entered the game on a four-game pointless streak before assisting on the Joey Ryan goal (by missing the net on a shot). After dominating the preseason in quintessential Falcons fashion, Evans has nearly been literal dog shit for most of this season. Hopefully, the addition of Joey Ryan to the first line will help Evans figure out what he’s actually supposed to do with his stick.

No Joe-K: Joe Kurczewski, St. Louis’s leading scorer, didn’t get on the scoresheet tonight, but it wasn’t from lack of effort. The Calgary first-round draftee put eight shots on net in the game, but couldn’t get any of them past Sivy McSieve.

Hole in the Wahl: Kyle Wahlgren struggled in the contest, allowing four goals on 19 shots. The third overall selection in the SHL Entry Draft, Wahlgren was arguably the best goalie in the SMJHL last season - if only they gave awards for things like that. Oh, wait, they do? Anyways, Wahlgren has failed to match last season’s production, as he’s currently sixth in the league in save percentage and eighth in GAA. I’d blame it on his team not generating any offense while subjecting him to a firing squad, but Ben Waters has the same problem and is doing just fine. Clearly, the responsibilities of being a father to twins are just getting in the way. RIP Wally.

Whalers Vancouver Whalers Whalers 4 vs 3 Firebirds Prince George Firebirds Firebirds
Game summary
A game with a large amount of animosity linked to it because of the famous 3 way BC rivalry, as well as the way the whalers crashed out of the playoffs in S30, it was a fairly physical game to represent the rivalry well, with a total of 10 penalties between the 2 teams. Whalers come out on top after a long shootout, 4 to 3.

Goal summaries
1st period
Mbb retrieves the dump, finds Schroder in the neutral zone. Schroder moves into the Firebirds zone, takes a shot….. Misses the net. He picks it back up, moves to the point, TAKES THE SHOT! VASSILIOS DEFLECTS OVER WATERS’ SHOULDER!
1 NOTHING FOR THE WHALERS!

Schroder recieves the puck from Latta, back to Latta. Finds Schroder once more, he dumps it. Boone has it, but Latta ROCKS HIM! Finds Schroder rushing towards the net… WHAT A SNIPE!
2 NOTHING FOR THE WHALERS, BOTH GOALS OFF POWERPLAYS!

2nd period
Dangler takes the shot… misses the net. Trick has it now, he takes the shot! Reaper deflects, but Wehner sees it coming. Rebound in front of the net for Trick! HE SCORES!
THE ROOKIE BRINGS IT BACK WITHIN ONE!

Cukurs wins the opening face-off. Wolf now has it, he’s hit by Llewellyn but Hylytyr has it. Finds Cukurs in the Whalers zone, Pollak, Wolf, he takes the shot… SCORES!
2 GOALS IN 10 SECONDS AND THE FIREBIRDS HAVE TIED IT!

Bearss retrieves the puck for the Whalers, finds Kaiser in the offensive zone. Bearss, Kaiser, Bearss, HE TAKES THE SHOT! Blocked by Kottbulle. Kubrak picks it up! SHOT! SCORES
Whalers take the lead off Kottbulle’s unintetional screen!

3rd period
Llewellyn wins a face-off. Huh? Finds Kaiser, OH HYLYTYR DESTROYS HIM! OBRANA PICKS UP THE PUCK, SENDS HYLYTYR ON A BREAKAWAY! DANGLES TO THE LEFT, THE RIGHT, BACK TO THE FOREHAND, SCORES!
WHAT A GOAL FROM HYLYTYR TO TIE THIS UP!
Tusk has it. If he scores, this shoot-out is over. He moves over the neutral zone. Skates. You can see Waters getting nervous having to face this slapper. Tusk moves to the left, raises his stick… IT’S IN THE NET! THE WHALERS HAVE WON THIS GAME IN A SHOOT-OUT!
3 stars
1 – Ludwig Koch Schroder
The german had a great performance, carrying the Whalers powerplay in the first period, and generating offense like nobody else could, having 5 shots, equaled only be teammate Stamkos Jr.
2 – Trick Edwards
Making his contribution with only 8 minutes of ice time, the young winger started the 10 second goal marathon, scoring at exactly the tick of the 4th minute to bring his team back in it.
3 – Yason Vassilios
Definitely not fair to forget Vassilios. He only shot once, but made it count, with strong positioning was able to get in front of Schroder’s shot and stick it past Waters.

TSN Turning Point
The 2 goals in 10 seconds kickstarted the Firebirds squad, and allowed them to be motivated enough to get at least a point tonight. Had it not been for this switch in momentum, we might have been looking at a 4-0 or 5-0 ballgame.
