PT #2 - Promotion Night
#46

This time last year it would be hard to imagine goaltender Jeff Kirkstone anywhere but Toronto. He was drafted and developed by the North Stars and viewed by many as their franchise goalie for the foreseeable future. After leading the Stars to the Challenge Cup he was pulled prior to game 5 with the Stars trailing 3-1 in the series. The former Star stud and future Hall of Famer Mark Harter came in and led the Stars to 3 straight wins and their first ever Challenge Cup, resurrecting his career. During the off-season there were tons of rumors floating around that Kirkstone wanted out of Toronto, feeling that he had been disrespected by management. Those rumors turned out to be true as he was traded to the Portland Admirals and offered a role in management.

On the eve of Kirkstone's return to Toronto in an Admirals jersey, the North Stars have announced they will be having "Mark Harter bobblehead night." Stars management has declined to comment, but it's hard to believe this isn't a shot at the once celebrated Jeff Kirkstone. The atmosphere in the Air Canada Centre will surely be electric. Will Kirkstone get the last laugh? Or will he skate off the ice at the end of the night in shame? Only time will tell.

The Winnipeg Jets will close their season against the Seattle Riot, and to commemorate the budding rivalry will be offering a giveaway to fans -- a Thomas the Tank Engine toy set.

Why a Tank Engine, you ask? As a playful jab at our West Coast friends, the Jets want to give fans something to remember the trainwreck that we anticipate the Seattle season to be. Teams all have their ups and downs, and Seattle's got a lot of talent, but we're willing to put our money on the line (and the tracks) to ensure that this bit of trash talk lands. While totally unlicensed, this toy will allow Winnipeg fans to recreate the Seattle season on their very own living room floors! Please note that passenger body parts and flames are not included.

Feel free to tweet us @WPGJets to let us know your thoughts, and Riot members and fans...if you want to raise the stakes let us know! Who knows, you might even end up changing your team name to something more tank engine themed!

For each game we play against Buffalo, we are going to be giving away "VLAD the Implier" shirts with two tennis balls on them. Considering how much VLAD likes to talk about his balls, the Chiefs are going to get the fans to start chanting balls towards the Implier and make it so he won't be able to score as much on the Chiefs as usual. Of course, it hasn't quite helped yet, but the fans are really starting to get into it, and with the Chiefs in a playoff spot at the current point in time the team is starting to become united with the idea we can shut down VLAD and make it so only the goals are implied, or something.

Honestly our marketing department kind of sucks, so it is good the fans here just love hockey no matter what kind of promotions we hold. Appreciate it, Minny fanbase!!

The First five thousand fans will get the Ronnie Westbrook bobble-heads. The rest of the fans will get a Steelhawks towel for their efforts in supporting the team. During the Panthers next home game against the Toronto North Stars, the team will be giving away free t-shirts to all fans in attendance. The t-shirts will be orange and have the Panthers logo on it, and will be part of the "Orange-out" night in LA.

Since the Toronto North Stars also wear blue and since their fans have a reputation of travelling well, we wanted everyone to know that our fans packed the arena, not theirs.

For every goal, orange-colored smoke will shoot out of the scoreboard and fans will get 10% off in the team store (up to 50% off) after the game.

Panthers fans are the best fans in the league. We want to show everyone that we don't need opposing fans to help sell out the Staples center. So come out for our game against the Toronto North Stars, support your boys in teal, black, and orange, and get a free t-shirt while you're at it!

Our promotion is going to be taking place at the upcoming game 94 where the Kelowna Knights will take on the St. Louis Scarecrows in St. Louis. The theme of the event is our Captain, the one and only Louie Garrett. We will be giving out Garrett themed figurines that are shaped like little garbage cans. We will also be giving out rally towels that feature the phrase “Garrett is mediocre at best”. This is what Garrett had to say about the event. “It’s an honor to be chosen to be the focus of such an event. I am very appreciative that the St. Louis Scarecrows organization is thinking about me when they come up with these sorts of ideas”. Make sure that you are one of the first 100 people into the game to guarantee yourself a Louie Garrett figurine and everyone will be receiving the rally towels. In addition to the giveaways we will be having Louie Garrett food specials. We will be making our mediocre food even more mediocre so be sure to take part in all of the festivities!

Day 52 - Calgary VS Toronto

It may not be the biggest rivalry in the game, but it could be. These teams have seem championships and since the beginning of time have reached and incredible amount of success. Through the years, both these teams have had highs and lows and each one has accomplished so much. This season is no different for both organizations as they push forward through this regular season in hopes to once again capture another Challenge Cup.

For the game, we're going a little offer script here. We're encouraging both Toronto and Calgary fans to show up for the game and we're even going to offer a 10% off discount for the game. BUT, there's a catch. You only receive a 10% discount off to the game if you show up in a costume.. and that costume has to do with either the North Stars or the Legion. Dress as a star, or something to do with Toronto. Rip his soul, but come as Rob Ford. OR, you may want to dress up as a Dragon or gay cowboy. The choice is yours. We want the stands full of random crazy ass shit to celebrate both teams.

Discount will be received VIA coupons for the game. 1 FREE beer, hot dog and choice or popcorn or candy.

Come on down, little gay cowboy or star. It's time to show your pride in your teams colours!

Next up for Minnesota is the home game against Hamilton. The day 40 clash will also see a special giveaway by Żubrówka, the Polish-Belarussian vodka company that has sponsored the Chief's latest acquisition, Ivan Koroviev, since he made his professional debut in competitive vodka drinking two seasons ago.

To mark the occasion, a special vodka-dog combo will be available in the foyer (simply a hot dog and a shot of vodka), and between the second and third periods there will be a special giveaway competition: youth teams from around the St. Paul area are invited to enter a penalty shot challenge, with the winning team taking home a crate of Żubrówka to share amongst themselves.

Additionally, fans can purchase tickets for a raffle, with the proceeds going towards fighting underage drinking in the greater St. Paul area. Tickets are $5 per strip, and there are a dozen bottles of Żubrówka to give away, fifty packets of bison grass seeds, and the chance to meet Koroviev himself after the game.

Last home game of the regular season against Manhattan Rage on day 81 is the chosen day when the whole LA Panthers team focuses on making world a better place, even for one day. The main theme during that day is to raise awarness on the dangers of anger and negativity in general.

Every fan who comes to watch that game will get yelled at the gates by professional hecklers who will say whatever they want. They will comment on what you are wearing that day, how tall or heavy you are etc, basically nothing is off limits, so for you own mental safety and if you want to avoid tears, do not wear Texas Renegades jerseys and other Texas related clothing.

Idea of all of this is to simulate what it feels like when someone else is saying nasty stuff to you. Negativity in social media and internet in general is insane, so it´s good once in a while to get a reminder that there are real people behind nicknames and posts you might see in various forums.

The Hamilton Steelhawks are having a Noro Wozy bobblehead night. The promotion will be during game 278 against Eastern Conference rivals, the Buffalo Stampede. Wozy was chosen for the bobblehead because of the breakout season he is having. Through the first 25 games he has put up 10 goals and 16 assists, for a total of 26 points. Those 26 points put him in the top 15 in league scoring. Pretty impressive for only his second SHL season. The first 1000 fans to enter the Copps Coliseum will receive the Wozy bobbleheads. Don't worry if you are not one of the lucky first 1000 fans. Everyone who attends this game will be getting a Steelhawks rally towel. The Steelhawks are in a tight playoffs race. They are fighting for that fourth and final spot in the East. Hopefully these rally towels will light a spark in the team so they can come out and win this big game.

As the VP of Marketing for the team, we'd want to encourage people to attend the last game of the season to continue a sold-out game on this day like every season previously. This one is especially important, because if the Wolfpack don't make the playoffs, we'll need fans to still stand united and show the team some love. This event would be for the final game for the season, where the New England Wolfpack take on the Edmonton Blizzard at home.

The event would be called "Burn Out the Blizzard," and we'd offer ONLY hot food and drinks at this game, but there'd be cool drinks that are literally on fire before you get handed them. And then there'd be a limited-edition Wolfpack shirt with a wolf hollowing at a red moon and flames surrounding the forest (to also promote putting out fires. All proceeds would go to protecting the forests in Massachusetts). The event's free giveaway would be a fire emoji foam finger.

Honestly, the event would probably be a huge bust, but at least it would make people forget about their team possibly losing the season and just make them talk crap about their marketing team.

On day 176 of the season, The Portland Admirals will face the Winnipeg Jets. On this night the Winnipeg Jets will be giving away some bobble heads with the likeness of none other than Max Weber. Max Weber was drafted first overall and has been a superstar defenseman since entering the SHL. This year is his first year with the Winnipeg Jets, and half way into his first season with the team Weber has taken on a huge role playing 25 minutes at times, most recently on day 165 against the Minnesota Chiefs. During that game Weber dished out three assists and practically lifted his team against the opposition. We are proud to announce the giveaway of these collectible one of a kind bobble heads as they will likely become a collector item in the future as Max Weber continues to develop into the #1 defenseman he is. Show up for this game or regret it! Porland Admirals vs. the Winnipeg Jets. Day 176. Don't miss it!
