Scenario: The SHL has partnered with gaming company Wizards of the Coast to start their own spinoff trading card game. You’ve been selected as a team representative to come up with a card for one of your teammates.

Written Task: Write 150 words or more about the trading card you’ve come up with. This card must have a direct reference towards some aspect of your SHL/SMJHL team and two abilities/effects, as well as reasoning to why the card would have those attributes.

Graphic Task: Design the card. Must include a teammate's name, render, description, and a cost/effect upon playing.

Example.

You will receive 3 capped TPE for fulfilling all requirements.

This PT will close Monday, July 23rd, at 7 pm EST.

Asspancakes, a common card that when used in conjunction with the ultra rare spell card Mr.Shit, spawns an endless supply of recreated
monsters as well as giving you access to spy on your opponents hands as well as their deck. It's a strong combo that can confuse and distract your opponent, giving you enough time to mount an attack that leaves them defenseless, however, this card does have its caveats though, although capable of granting a win, if used poorly, can negatively affect your own hand and give your opponent the advantage. Because of the volatile nature of the card, if an opponent attacks the defenseless Mr.Shit the spell card, asspancakes takes damage as they are one in the same.

Word has it that Mr.Shit is not tournament legal and is often banned from professional decks, meaning the common asspancakes card is nowhere to be seen in the professional circuit.

As the newest representative for Wizard of the Coast, without a doubt the card I would push forth would be based off our the Chiefs' Captain Alonzo Garbanzo.

Due to his age and and leadership within the team I believe the first ability he would have is a buff to increase the morale or the offensive abilities of the cards in play when he is tapped and that until he is removed from play. The fact he is playing on defense within the Minnesota organisation would provide him with an ability that would have pluses against enemy attacks (or shots) and reduce the enemy's attack power thus reducing the amount of damage dealt.

The abilities provided on this Card allows it to be an asset both offensively and defensively which is a card any good Magic player would want to have within their Deck. An absolute must have for sure.

The teammate I would choose as representative of the Montreal Militia, it would be goaltender Petr Vrana.

His card would only cost 2 mana and no card loss. Imagine there were a spell printed that cost 15 mana but that had cycling for 2 mana and put a 0/4 token with defender into play. That would be an awesome cycling ability—it replaces itself, and you gain a nice roadblock to boot. But the Brick Wall of Vrana is better because they work well with everything from Restoration Angel to Reveillark to Fleetfoot Panther to Conjurer’s Closet. It has a long established relationship with the best flickering, bouncing, and reanimation tricks that have ever been spawned. Meanwhile, it gives you the time you need to get there. Oh, and when it comes to defenders buying you time to build up to when you can establish dominance via combo or control, nothing is better than the Brick Wall of Vrana because it gives you a card to keep digging to find that needed mana, combo piece, or removal.

It's a defensive piece that can't be defeated.

Hamilton have a couple people who would be a decent pick here. But when it comes down to it, there is really only one choice. I'd obviously design a card about Ronnie Westbrook. There is just no other choice here. Westbrook is clearly the most talented player on the Hamilton Steelhawks. The card would have to be very powerful, because Westbrook is very powerful. He's got big strong muscles. It would have to cost a shit load of mana. When you play this card, Westbrook scores a fat ripper dood. Some might say this card would be op, and I would agree. But I think when you're desiging a card around Westbrook, it has to be op right? Guy has a stupid wet slappy. I wanted to capture that in the essence of this card. Ronnie Westbrook would be a legendary card. Card would just be stupid rare dood. Extremly hard to get your hands on it.
