The St. Louis Scarecrows are looking more and more like their namesakes every day. With a deep core of send downs, St. Louis is poised to not only turn their season around, but to make a deep playoff run as well. Adam Taylor, Nicholas Williams, and Aleister Cain are just three of the returning players. Rumor has it that only two of their players were called up to the SHL this season.

With the draft occurring tonight, St. Louis is in prime position to add some wondrous talent with the second overall pick in the SMJHL draft. With a much smaller draft class this go around, having the second and eighth picks sets St. Louis up for some prime real estate in the short draft market this season.

And lastly, the atmosphere in the St. Louis locker room is that of a winning culture. Tons of young players ready to show the world what they've got. Ready to show the world that the Scarecrows are world champions, and this season, they're out to do just that.

St. Louis is looking strong this year with a lot of young talent from last years draft stepping in to leadership positions. They have a lot of offensively minded players who are looking to come out of the gate swinging. One strength is their top scorers in Adam Taylor, Nicholas Williams, Nicky Pedersen Jr, and Lil Manius. All whom  are ready to fill the score sheets up and take St. Louis to the playoffs. Another strength is their high end defensemen. After going 9th overall, Kiko Rytmeyr is looking to expand on his season from last year and lead  St. Louis' defensive core. The Scarecrows are also looking at rookie goalie Aleister Cain to have a big season. Playing in just two games last season, Cain is an extremely underrated goaltender who will definitely show off his skill this season. While not many veterans are returning from last year, St. Louis is looking towards it's younger players to make their marks and become Scarecrow legends. The great coaching staff in JKortesi81 and TML99 are not to be trifled with. They preach a great locker room environment and it really shows on the ice. With many players showing great chemistry on and off the ice, St. Louis is a team to watch out for. With the upcoming SMJHL draft, St. Louis is hoping to pick up a few players to finalize their roster and join the Crows for their playoff run.

The blizzard and back in full force for the S43 campaign. Our team is stacked and ready to push for the challenge cup. Among our team are many strengths. One being the sheer amount of 1000+ TPE players we have on our roster. With 14 players over 1000tpe and many of those well over 1300, we already have an edge over almost anyone who enters the arena with us on sim night. Another is our prospect pool, with many young studs waiting in the SMJHL to get their Call up is the best thing we can have as a team, and due to the foresight of Ace, we are not in a position where we have to make premature call ups that end up hurting the team, and the prospects. Lastly, We have a great locker room, and although this doesn’t directly impact the on ice result, it keeps players active and knowledgeable of PT’s and all TPE opportunities and this does directly impact our on ice result.

The Seattle Riot did some good things this offseason by re-signing both Brett Kennedy and Joseph Lombardi. Both are key players on the Riot, but I wouldn't say that the offense is their strongest point. The Riot have done an outstanding job of building a great defense, led by Clint Eastwood. The defense also has talented youngsters like Liam O'Callaghan, Svatoslav Bodnar, Ensio Kalju, Blaine McElroy, and Matej Elias (who is in the process of changing positions). They also boast solid wingers, like Lombardi, Alexander Zajac, DeMaricus Smyth, Elias Lindstrom, Eduard Selich, and Louie Garrett. However, this team has an obvious weakness, which could probably cost them a playoff spot. It's at the goalie position. Johnny Yuma hasn't developed as much as the Riot has hoped he would, and at 572 TPE, Yuma is more of a backup then a starter. That's why you can expect either Benjamin Blue or Scotty Crawfling (the better prospect) to come up and play the backup games. The prospect pool is filled with promising wingers like Noah Nowes, Herb Robert, and Mason Hudson. Now, back to another weakness: center depth. Pavel Pivonka was drafted to become their future #1 center, but he's not even close to ready yet. That leaves your centers as Kennedy and no one else. He's the only outright center on the team. They need to pick up more center depth.

The Dragons are the Cup Champions, so I would say confidence is a strength heading into next season. This should lead to a good start to the season, but even if it doesn't, the players are experienced and have rebounded from tough starts to enjoy winning seasons, and Esa is a big part of that "been there, done that" group.

Another big strength of the Dragons is their stingy defense core. The Dragons have a terrific top 4, filled with players in their prime. Casey Creller had four GWG in last year's cup run, and he should have another great year on the 2nd pairing with Ostap Maksimov. The top pairing is a bit different this year, with Adam Kaiser returning and looking to have another 40 point season, playing with newly acquired Fedor Shirobokov. Fedor was an anchor for the backend of the Chiefs, and he should solidify the top pairing here. Even with a key retirement to Boychuk, Driftwood is coming in strong after a successful rookie campaign, and the depth looks to be even better than last year, so much so that Augustus might be moving to forward to make room.

Finally, the Dragons are committed to winning, and the young stars like Driftwood and McGavin will continue to improve as the new core settles in. The coaches know how to get the best out of their lineup, and this is what separates the good teams from the Championship ones.

As I start my rookie campaign in the SHL as a first year callup I definitely look at my experience in juniors as a catalyst for better things to come. With 3 Four Star Cups, 1 WJC Silver, and 1 WJC Gold, there were obviously expectations for the guy. Dekens has just recently signed a contract and delighted with the opportunity to feature on the Rage's Top 9 for the coming rooke year. I will admit the first time I stepped into the Manhattan Rage locker room I was perplexed. It was a ghost town. Not much going on, little activity, and certainly not the rambunctious locker rooms I'd had previously in Kelowna and Texas. Since the draft, the place has gone full roaring 20s. Not in a dress sense but the place is hoppin! Certainly comradery now has helped fill a void I'd had since being traded from Texas and has given Dekens a new motivation to succeed in Manhattan. Along with the reasons given, one of Dekens favorite new thing about this year, his ability to get acquainted with Manhattan after finally settling in. With a willingness to explore, Dekens with get adventurous with the city nightlife and delve into the fun that Manhattan can bring to a rich young stud.

The Vancouver Whalers have a lot of good things going for them in the coming season. After making it to the Four Star Cup Finals last season, one could fully expect a repeat performance, with hopefully a better outcome. The first team strength is that they have four capped players returning to the team. That's is an incredible amount, and certainly makes them a force to reckon with. The second team strength is the winger position. Five of the capped players are currently playing wing for the team. That gives them two full lines of wingers that could easily play first line minutes with a third line almost boasting the same thing. Their sixth best winger is also very close to the SMJHL TPE ceiling. Finally, this may be stupid, but a third team strength the Whalers possess is their amazing group chemistry. The entire team loves training and hanging out together, which makes everything that much easier on the ice.

Giving a list format of three new strengths of the Manhattan Rage

1 -- Addition of a new Scoring Threat
Harry Hans was on a decline the past few seasons, and with his recent retirement, a spot in the top line was opened. Considering our line consists of two deferrent players in Reginald Rove and Yannick Berger, the goal immediately became setting up someone for them to get the puck to. We traded for Wolf Von Hammersmark, a player with a quick release and heavy shot, and can fully expect him to be a huge piece of our offense this season.

2 -- Ever-Developing Youth Movement
With the call-ups of James Dekens and Cameron Carter II, we will have a continuation of our youth movement in Manhattan. Reginald MacIntyre, Reginald Rove, Yannick Berger and Cedric Moreau were already young players who had been looking to make a major impact. At this stage in the game, they've proven themselves. While they're developing well and MacIntyre is well on pace to be our top defender by the end of this season, the addition of a proven winner in Dekens and an MVP candidate at the SMJHL level in Carter II, the firepower is immense. It can be expected this season for Manhattan to have a sudden boom in point totals compared to last season's dull offense.

3 -- Personality
While it isn't often this is talked about, when you are making the changes you are to a roster here, you have to expect a changing of the guard in some ways. We had a lot of players heading toward the end of their careers in Manhattan, and still have quite a few. However, the infusion of new young talent has brought the locker room to life and given these players something new to fight for. Putting the pieces together will be the hardest part, but with them developing chemistry and showing genuine excitement in Manhattan for the first time in a couple of seaosns, everything is finally looking up for the Rage.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

The Halifax Raiders are poised to have what could be one of there best seasons in team history. The team has had immense internal growth from there young guys and went out an acquired veteran goalie Kata Vilde. It's hard to pick only three strengths, with out excluding some important names, I'll do my best.

First, the team has incredible centre depth. King, Kovacs and Faceoffs down the middle gives them three centres which should be maxed out by the mid point of the season, giving them an incredibly difficult trio to match up with. Since the Raiders only intend to roll three lines, that means opposing teams will constantly be matching up against an elite SMJHL centres ever shift.

Next, the team has one of the leagues best goalies. Kata Vilde is coming of a four star championship where he played a dominate roll, Kata now will look to match that success in Halifax and bring a championship here to. Lastly, the team has impressive skill on the wings. Crush Cile, Richard Metcalf Jr, Oliver Kovacs, Vince Rieper are all first line talents in the SMJHL and will be a handful for opposition blue lines.

The S43 Edmonton Blizzard is looking very strong going into the season. They are very talented up and down the roster. One of the Blizzard's best attributes is their forward depth. With the addition of star player Geronimo Otto from the San Francisco Pride, Ace Redding who is certainly viable as a top 6 player, is pushed down to what may be the best 3rd line in the league. The third line of Becker-Scholz-Redding has been one of the best lines in the entire league during test sims, which is insane considering it is a 3rd line

The Blizzard also have a very strong d core this season. Headed by Isaac Cormier Hale and Connor Tanner, the defense is deep and very strong. Tor Tuck, Brady McIntyre, and Chippy Chiclets round out the top 4 and 6 as well as new addition Jean Luc Picard, who was signed as a free agent and looks to develop while sheltered on the third pairing.

The Blizzard are also very strong in goal, with Michael McFadden between the pipes.

S42 was a disappointing season for the Toronto North Stars as they miss the playoff once again. Things will be different this season, and where are three seasons why:
1. The team was able to keep its star player for at least another season. The major loss during the season is the veteran defenseman Jasper Clayton. However, with the emergence of Bob Bergen, Richard Physt and Ti-Guy Emond the top four looks solid and young.
2. Improvement of young players. The youth movement in Toronto is starting to bear fruit. Core players are now younger including the likes of the goalie Tommy Tuck, forward Mikhail Lokitonov and defenseman Bob Bergen.
3. Presence of all star players like Zander Rhys and Chirs York. Both players were in the all-star team and nominated for individual awards. Age is starting to show, but they still have couple of more seasons at the top level before they become a fringe players.

The Colorado Raptors are set to dominate this year, and after getting swept last year in the first round we have a fiery passion to win a cup. If we take a look at our forward depth we have incredible talent on the wings. The Raptors currently have six capped out wingers, meaning that we will only have one line without a winger, which bodes well for us. Another one of our strengths is our defensive prowess. Usually a team that is so heavy on offense wouldn't have nearly as strong a defense as we do. Currently we have two capped defenders, with the unfortunate news that our former captain Troy McClure III is getting the call up to Winnipeg.I think that our only weakness is our lack of a backup goalie, because Crawfling is getting better and better and I can't see him staying down after this upcoming season. The other thing that people may call a weakness is our lack of center depth, but I think that is something that we can address at this year's draft, seeing as there is an abundance of high quality centers. And that on top of one of our prime wingers last season in Tommy Salami is switching to a center. Overall, I can see us having one hell of a season and a potential cup run. (229 words)

The first strength of the team comes simply from the fact that another off-season as passed, and our main group of players as progressed. Our main core is young with eight players being drafted in season 39 or closer to the coming season. Florence Clijsters, Anders Christiansen, Tommy Tuck, Ti-Guy Emond, Mikhail Lokitonov, Richard Physt, Bob Bergen and Carter Manning are the future and now the present of this franchise has most of them should be put in important roles for the upcoming season. They all continue to rack up TPE which means the team should improve by the simple fact that these players are getting better.

To help this young core, the North Stars have a great veteran presence with Chris York leading the forward and Zander Rhys leading the defenseman. Both these players are part of the best player at their respective position and have had a positive impact on the progress made by the youngster until now.

Thirdly, the locker room is really active, and the team spirit is great heading into next season which should translate into a bunch of players that want to compete with each other and a team that is more competitive.

Detroit Falcons will have a great season this year. Some of the Strengths of the team are

1. S42 Draft Players
S42 Draft Brought some great talents to Falcons like Tig Murphy, Cedric Robinson and Hippo Passamus!
Last Seasons players might had a rough season and been little bird, but over the off-season many of them have evolved into Beautiful Falcons and will fly to the victory!

2. Management
As you may all know Wozy stepped down from the GM position of Falcons leaving a hole in the heart. To fill this hole came Waters who brought JSS as his co-gm. This duo of veterans on SHL will bring us some hope into the dark days. Also with Water being GM he also updated the Management team! He promoted these 2 player we all love in the Detroit LR. And these two guys are Grok and NotoriousTig!

3. Mr Trumpetligma
You may ask your self "Who is Mr Trumpetligma?" and why are you asking this is because you are not in Detroit LR. By Mr Trumpetligma i mean our own Marc Palicka or BaseScoutXI. He's a strong man with great skill on playing trumpet! Also he has ligma. RIP in Pepperoni Mr Trumpetligma
