39. (S36) G (Los Angeles Panthers) - Evgueni Marmeladov || +9
Grade: 81.10
Past Seasons: S41-89, S42-48

At 39 is Panthers goaltender Evgueni Marmeladov, entering his fourth straight season as the starter for the Panthers, and doing pretty well so far. Marmeladov went 23-19-0 in S42, had a .902 save percentage, and a 3.21 goals against average. Despite the high shots against and goals against average he was able to hold his own in net, and could be getting even better by S43.

38. (S34) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Matthew Auston || +43
Grade: 81.40
Past Seasons: S42-81

At 38 is Panthers center Matthew Auston, making big strides in his game, particularly offensively. Auston scored 24 goals and 54 points in S42, a career high in both categories, and did so by doing one thing: putting shots on the net. Auston registered over 200 shots for the first time in his career, and didn't even play as many minutes as the season prior.

37. (S36) D (Seattle Riot) - Clint Eastwood || +20
Grade: 81.40
Past Seasons: S42-57

Clint Eastwood comes in at 37, starting to find his game midway through his developing years, scoring 40+ points for the second straight season with 7 goals and 40 points. His defensive game needs a bit of work, but with his physical game still up to par (never had a season below 100 hits) all he has to do is concentrate a little harder to become a two-way monster.

36. (S28) RW (Calgary Dragons) - Mikko Linna || +6
Grade: 81.40
Past Seasons: S32-76, S33-81, S34-98, S35-61, S36-48, S37-48, S38-17, S39-38, S40-24, S41-16, S42-42

At 36 is new Dragons acquisition Mikko Linna, who is already fitting in nicely with his new team. Linna scored 18 goals and 48 points in S42, his ninth straight 40+ point season, and despite dropping back on the list a couple seasons back, seems poised to jump right back in it with a new team and new locker room to feed from.

35. (S36) RW (Texas Renegades) - Colton Hagan || +52
Grade: 81.70
Past Seasons: S41-81, S42-87

At 35 is Colton Hagan of the Renegades, pretty early in his career, but already enjoying his first point per game season in S42. He scored 24 goals and 52 points last season, was a +7, and even registered a career high in hits with 149. As of right now he can do it all, and if he continues to be a consistent contributor he could be a top-10 player in no time at all.

34. (S37) D (San Francisco Pride) - Jack Tanner || -13
Grade: 81.70
Past Seasons: S41-65, S42-21

At 34 is Jack Tanner of the San Francisco Pride, falling back somewhat after being unable to repeat his S41 performance where he scored 16 goals and 46 points. Tanner instead had to settle for 8 goals and 38 points, which is still a very good stat line for a defenseman, but with his -10 (his fourth straight minus season) and a lack of physical play, he may not be getting the benefit of the doubt much longer, and may have a reputation as a soft one-way defenseman.

33. (S31) RW (WInnipeg Jets) - Zach Evans || -15
Grade: 81.80
Past Seasons: S36-62, S37-23, S38-7, S39-4, S40-8, S41-14, S42-18

At 33 is Jets winger Zach Evans, another dropper after his multiple top-10 and top-20 finishes. Evans scored 16 goals and 45 points in S42, which is still really good considering he is entering regression and may not have as much in the tank. For those counting that is eight straight 40+ point seasons. However he isn't showing the same kind of mettle as previous seasons where he scored 50 point and 60 point seasons at will.

32. (S31) D (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Ronnie Westbrook || -23
Grade: 82.60
Past Seasons: S34-97, S35-83, S37-40, S38-27, S39-25, S40-4, S41-25, S42-9

At 32 is Ronnie Westbrook, dropping out of the top-10 once again but still within striking distance to get back there again. Westbrook scored 3 goals and 33 points, and was even a +11 on the season. What is confusing is Westbrook scoring so few goals. This was the first season in his career (even going back to his rookie season) where he failed to score at least 10 goals, and some have to wonder if there is a nagging injury to his wrist that is keeping him from taking a ton of shots.

31. (S32) RW (Minnesota Chiefs) - Terrance Nova || +12
Grade: 82.90
Past Seasons: S34-83, S35-28, S36-36, S37-56, S38-24, S39-15, S40-7, S41-45, S42-43

At 31 is Terrance Nova of the Minnesota Chiefs, getting back into the swing of things and trying to get back into the top-20 wit his recent performances. Nova scored 24 goals and 49 points in S42, registering 200+ shots and over 100 hits on the year. Despite getting older it doesn't seem like Nova is planning on slowing down, and with this being his ninth straight 40+ point season there is no indication that we should expect anything less.

30. (S32) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Max Weber || -18
Grade: 83.10
Past Seasons: S36-74, S37-29, S38-12, S39-9, S40-31, S41-9, S42-12

At 30 is Jets defender Max Weber, falling out of the top-20 after failing to register 40 points, a streak that has surprised many in the league to a degree. Weber has been very productive in recent years, particularly with the Jets, and S42 wasn't much different as he scored 9 goals and 37 points. The physical game still hasn't developed, but he has found a solid niche as a defenseman and is sticking to it with a lot of success.

29. (S30) LW (San Francisco Pride) - Kelly Rivet || +18
Grade: 83.40
Past Seasons: S36-86, S38-41, S39-29, S40-38, S41-28, S42-47

At 29 is Pride winger Kelly Rivet, right back in the top-30 after his first 50+ point season. Rivet scored 23 goals and 51 points, averaging a little over 47 points the last five seasons. His physical play has dropped slightly, and defensively he has not been immune from San Francisco's defensive struggles, but the veteran winger certainly has been consistent offensively and demonstrated a lot of value to a team looking for the talent to become a contender.

28. (S31) C (Winnipeg Jets) - Jason Visser || -27
Grade: 83.50
Past Seasons: S36-49, S37-6, S38-4, S39-3, S40-28, S41-11, S42-1

At 28 is Jets center Jason Visser, taken off his throne and stuck with being a top-30 player this season after seeing his point totals drop by half from 78 points to 39. To top it all off his goals went from 34 to 13, his plus minus went from 36 to -2, and all this without any real change to his intangibles. So what happened? Was he just not that good? Or was it an anomaly of a season? The voters think a little of column A and a little of column B. He won't be as bad as this in S43, but he probably won't be as good as S41.

27. (S35) LW (Calgary Dragons) - Mike Izzy || +28
Grade: 83.90
Past Seasons: S40-56, S41-59, S42-55

At 27 is Mike Izzy of the Calgary Dragons, with his first ever 50+ point season and not only first top-50 selection but first time in the top-30 to boot. Izzy scored 26 goals and 52 points in S42, which shouldn't be all that surprising to those who followed him closely, as his last three seasons of 40+ points indicated he had a lot more offense to bring than some assumed. Topping off his physical play continuing to be a major facet to his game, Izzy is a deadly force both with the puck and without it.

26. (S37) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Connor Tanner || +30
Grade: 84
Past Seasons: S42-56

At 26 is Blizzard defender Connor Tanner, with his first top-30 selection as well, having the most productive season of his career with 9 goals and 46 points, along with 77 blocked shots. While his defensive game and physicality aren't exactly all-world, he is bringing a defensive charge to the Blizzard that the team has been looking for for awhile.

25. (S31) LW (West Kendall Platoon) - Trevor Wilson || +8
Grade: 84.20
Past Seasons: S37-82, S38-56, S39-39, S40-12, S41-13, S42-33

At 25 is Trevor Wilson, Platoon winger and one of the biggest acquisitions in terms of bringing the points to the table. So far with West Kendall Wilson has scored 206 points, over a point per game pace, which is the kind of consistency that is hard to come by in this league. His physical game is also on point, and defensively he is one of the most dangerous wingers in the game, making him the exact kind of player the Platoon need going forward.

24. (S28) G (Edmonton Blizzard) - Michael McFadden || -11
Grade: 84.60
Past Seasons: S31-73, S32-73, S33-56, S34-58, S35-21, S36-26, S37-42, S38-16, S39-26, S40-21, S41-10, S42-13

At 24 is Michael McFadden of the Blizzard, a goaltender who has been pretty damn good over the last few seasons, though not quite up to the level the previous two seasons showed. McFadden went 28-12-4, had a save percentage of .906, and a goals against average of 2.79. He is still a solid goaltender, but in his long career he may be starting to slow down.

23. (S31) LW (West Kendall Platoon) - Alex Light || +39
Grade: 84.80
Past Seasons: S37-74, S38-80, S39-53, S40-49, S41-37, S42-62

At 23 is Platoon winger Alex Light, jumping up and into the top-30 for the first time with his first ever point per game season as an SHL player. Light scored 25 goals and 55 points in S42, and even was a +28, making him a major two-way figure and really only needs the hitting to get back to form for him to really do damage. Unsure if that will happen with regression knocking on the door.

22. (S31) D (New England Wolfpack) - Toivo Kosonen || +31
Grade: 85.60
Past Seasons: S36-76, S37-76, S38-84, S39-46, S40-60, S41-40, S42-53

At 22 is Toivo Kosonen of the Wolfpack, with a season we haven't seen for a few years, now. Kosonen scored 14 goals and 49 points in S42, which was a major step up to form from the previous season which saw him just a hair above 30 points. Not to mention he went from -21 to +5, meaning he was really able to get his defensive awareness in check, and could be using it to fight regression and stay a viable player for a while.

21. (S35) RW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Sophia Bennett || +16
Grade: 85.60
Past Seasons: S40-98, S41-54, S42-37

At 21 is Los Angeles Panther Sophia Bennett, who wasn't able to match the season prior but is starting to really find her groove in the league. Bennett scored 25 goals and 50 points in S42, along with 113 hits which was a career high for her. As she continues to get closer to her prime she will likely continue to turn heads, as her dogged determination doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.

20. (S25) D (New England Wolfpack) - Jasper Clayton || -6
Grade: 85.60
Past Seasons: S29-99, S30-84, S31-66, S32-22, S33-8, S34-19, S35-8, S36-8, S37-12, S38-25, S39-14, S40-41, S41-34, S42-14

At 20 is Wolfpack defender Jasper Clayton, coming back home for his final season in the SHL before retirement. Clayton has had an incredible run as a defenseman, winning trophies and Challenge Cups, and S42 was no different in terms of his abilities, as he scored 6 goals and 43 points last season. Not to mention he blocked nearly 100 shots, a career high in fact, which surprised everyone. While this is his last moment on the SHL's Top 100, it is unlikely he will be forgotten any time soon.

19. (S35) G (Winnipeg Jets) - Artom Zhumbayev || Even
Grade: 86.20
Past Seasons: S41-100, S42-19

At 19 is Jets goaltender Artom Zhumbayev, sticking right where he was last season with another solid season. Zhumbayev went 21-19-4 in S42, with a .903 save percentage and 2.89 goals against average, and is holding his own each and every game behind a Jets team that could potentially be a perennial contender. At this point, all he really needs to do is be solid and consistent and he could be winning multiple Challenge Cups in the near future.

18. (S36) RW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Tigole Bitties || +45
Grade: 86.50
Past Seasons: S41-66, S42-63

At 18 is Blizzard winger Tigole Bitties, moving up to the top-20 for the first time ever after being unable to crack the top-50 for so long. Bitties scored 29 goals and 58 points in S42, which was even better than the season he had in S41 where he scored 50 points, and in the process improved on his defensive game as well. He still has room to grow, too, which means there is no telling what kind of skills he could improve upon before regression finally hits, and by that time it may be too late for the rest of the league.

17. (S36) LW (New England Wolfpack) - Oisin Fletcher || +78
Grade: 86.60
Past Seasons: S40-86, S41-96, S42-95

Oisin Fletcher comes in at 17, taking the biggest jump in the rankings after one of the biggest jumps in production. Fletcher went from 17 goals and 38 points in S41 to 29 goals and 64 points the very next season, going from -23 to +24 in the process and even doubling up on hits from 40 to 89. Fletcher had a season for the ages, and arguably had the best up and coming seasons we have ever seen from a player. Could he continue this streak and be a dominant force for seasons to come?

16. (S35) RW (Seattle Riot) - Louie Garrett || +16
Grade: 86.60
Past Seasons: S40-48, S41-42, S42-32

At 16 is Riot winger Louie Garrett, moving up into the top-20 with his 30 goals and 53 points. Not quite at the same level as the previous season where he scored 31 and 56, but with two straight 30 goal, 50 point seasons in the books, he is starting to show consistency and ability to bring his A game on a nightly basis. His physical game has also improved, although not to the degree anyone would call him either a two-way winger or power forward.

15. (S31) C (Edmonton Blizzard) - Geronimo Otto || +15
Grade: 86.90
Past Seasons: S36-90, S38-69, S39-36, S40-8, S41-6, S42-30

At 15 is Geronimo Otto of the Blizzard, with continued success despite the previous drop out of the top-10. Otto is still at it, scoring 21 goals and 55 points in S42, his fifth 50+ point season in a row. Now if he could get out of the minus category again he may be an all-world player that the SHL has rarely seen.

14. (S27) LW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Maximilian Wächter || +1
Grade: 87.70
Past Seasons: S32-98, S33-79, S34-56, S35-22, S36-13, S37-16, S38-39, S39-47, S40-55, S41-35, S42-15

At 14 is Maximilian Wächter, getting oh so close to the elusive top-10 spot after another incredible season. While it wasn't up to the same level as S41, he still scored 22 goals and 54 points, and did it despite the lack of a physical game and his shot totals dropping like a rock.

13. (S34) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Dani Forsberg || +25
Grade: 88
Past Seasons: S41-51, S42-38

At 13 is Platoon Winger Dani Forsberg, moving up just shy of the top-10 but not too far out with the way he has been playing. Forsberg scored 21 goals and 54 points, just shy of his career high of 55 points the previous year. Another model of consistency, and a solid physical resume to boot. Add in the playoff pedigree and you have one of the most clutch players in the league.

12. (S32) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Cory Knouse || +5
Grade: 88.30
Past Seasons: S37-100, S38-96, S39-70, S40-34, S41-12, S42-17

Cory Knouse comes in at 12, a player with some ups and downs recently, but the ups have been so high that he is getting national recognition. Knouse scored 24 goals and 55 points in S42, with a plus minus of +29 and even some blocked shots along the way. His physical game has appeared to drop off considerably, so it isn't entirely known if he will be able to stick around the list much longer.

11. (S30) D (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Ben Dover || -3
Grade: 88.70
Past Seasons: S33-88, S34-34, S35-62, S36-29, S37-30, S38-5, S39-6, S40-15, S41-15, S42-8

At 11 is Ben Dover of the Steelhawks, dropping just outside of the top-10 after his top-10 finish last season. Dover continued to produce at an elite level, however, scoring 17 goals and 44 points in S42. His hits continued to be solid, however he was not getting in front of as many shots last season, blocking only 47. Was it because the team was much better offensively or because Dover doesn't feel the need anymore?

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):

10. (S30) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Jean-Luc Reflieux || +14
Grade: 88.90
Past Seasons: S34-96, S35-97, S36-99, S37-43, S38-73, S39-61, S40-68, S41-32, S42-24
[Image: 1J64iqo.png]

At number 10 is Jean-Luc Reflieux of the Los Angeles Panthers, entering the top-10 for the first time in his career with his recent streak of 50+ point seasons. He scored 23 goals and 53 points in S42, and while it wasn't the same level as his 26 goals and 62 points in S41, not only did he get back to his physical play that was sorely lacking the previous season but he is demonstrating the type of consistency he has been unable to show for the majority of his career. Reflieux is even doing this while in regression, which is quite the feat, all things considered.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
