Time has come for the final edition of this series because this is regular season award and post-season doesn't have any bearing on it.
I plan to make three editions of this series:
Nominees
LW Flacko Lagarfield @JSS TPE: 739 -> 782 Strengths: 90 Scoring, 90 Defense, Skating 87 Weaknesses: 46 Checking, 70 Endurance Projected Role: 2nd Line for better part of the season (due to Marius suspension) Projected Stats: 8 G | 12 A | 20 P | 30 HIT | 5 SB | +1 | 18.50 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line Midseason Stats: 7 G | 6 A | 13 P | 4 HIT | 4 SB | +6 | 16.97 AMG End of season Stats: 14 G | 11 A | 25 P | 8 HIT | 12 SB | +2 | 16.69 AMG Two very good halfs for player on the team that was firmly in the playoff spot for the whole season. He was solid on both sides, and strong third-line performance was crucial for the Buffalo success. Still, a bit short of my projections, it was great showcase of what re-signed Stampede Star in the making and S41 1st OA pick is going to bring to the team for a long time. D Daniel Karlsson @dankoa TPE: 733 -> 764 Strengths: Defense 90, Puck Handling 86, Skating: 88, Passing: 86 Weaknesses: Scoring 71 Projected Role: 1st/2nd defensive pairing Projected Stats: 5 G | 25 A | 30 P | 87 HIT | 60 SB | +20 | 24.50 AMG Current Role: 2nd defensive pairing Midseason Stats: 4 G | 8 A | 12 P | 28 HIT | 38 SB | -7 | 22.70 AMG End of season Stats: 4 G | 22 A | 26 P | 73 HIT | 74 SB | -11 | 22.36 AMG Great season for the rookie defenceman and my projections were almost on point, with one small detail of +/- being entirely different. While Texas Renegades might have not made playoffs their future should look bright. While he didn't score any goals in the second half he certainly improved his skating and passing numbers. He also played a lot of penalty kill minutes, negatively impacting his numbers. RW James Dekens @monkey10pts TPE: 539 -> 565 Strengths: Scoring 89, Skating: 83, Endurance: 65 Weaknesses: Checking 40 Projected Role: 2nd/3rd forward line Projected Stats: 11 G | 14 A | 25 P | 60 HIT | 10 SB | +3 | 18.00 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line (I think he was 2nd forward line for the first part of the season though) Midseason Stats: 9 G | 9 A | 18 P | 26 HIT | 2 SB | -16 | 19.17 AMG End of season Stats: 16 G | 14 A | 30 P | 34 HIT | 6 SB | -17 | 18.69 AMG Leading scorer and point getter of this rookie race. He slighly slowed down in the second part of the season, though arguably was more efficient and had better impact, suprising a lot of people Manhattan finished just 4 points shy of the post-season berth. LW Cameron Carter II @Boomcheck TPE: 476 -> 476 Strengths: Checking 68, Skating 86 Weaknesses: Endurance 54, Passing 70, Strength 51 Projected Role: 2nd forward line Projected Stats: 3 G | 4 A | 7 P | 75 HIT | 5 SB | -25 | 13.50 AMG Current Role: 2nd forward line Midseason Stats: 7 G | 7 A | 14 P | 48 HIT | 2 SB | -10 | 17.49 AMG End of season Stats: 13 G | 12 A | 25 P | 125 HIT | 6 SB | -14 | 17.88 AMG Cameron Carter II continued his good rookie ride and led the class in hits. I wonder whether with his development it's not going to be one and done career, but even if it's the case it's going to be one of the more impressive ones. Definetely outpefrformed his preseason expectations and deserve place in the highest tier of probable nominees. G Geezus Kryyst @Narconis TPE: 549 -> 583 Strengths: Style Control: 91, Hand Speed: 90, Reaction Time: 93 Weaknesses: Rebound Control: 82 Projected Role: Starter/Backup (at the season start) Projected Stats: 40 GP | 25 W | 12 L | 3,35 GAA | 0.895 PCT Current Role: Starter Midseason Stats: 20 GP | 10 W | 10 L | 3.12 GAA | 0.889 PCT End of season Stats: 44 GP | 26 W | 17 L | 2.83 GAA | 0.896 PCT Fantastic improvement in the second half in nearly every aspect, but overall he still struggled, which is to be expected from rookie goalie. He benefited immensely from the best defence in the league, but I don't want to discredit an achievement of surrendering least goals and assesing goalies is quite hard, without any other rookie to compare him too. You did something well
D Harvey Danger @hockeyfan TPE: 478 -> 521 Strengths: Defense 85, Checking 58, Skating 80, Fighting: 27 Weaknesses: Scoring 72 Projected Role: 2nd/3rd defensive pairing Projected Stats: 3 G | 7 A | 10 P | 88 HIT | 40 SB | -18 | 20.50 AMG Current Role: 2nd defensive pairing Midseason Stats: 0 G | 8 A | 8 P | 37 HIT | 21 SB | -3 | 20.48 AMG End of season Stats: 2 G | 12 A | 14 P | 76 HIT | 45 SB | -4 | 19.99 AMG He finally scored! Surprisingly played ton of power play minutes, despite being defence first player and overall it was really sucessful campaign for S42 player and bodes well for cotinued improvement of the renegades. RW Piotr Czerkawski @majesiu TPE: 728 -> 751 (not updated due to lack of playoffs, at 784 now) Strengths: Passing 90, Defense 90, Puck Handling: 87 Weaknesses: Checking 42, Scoring 79, Endurance: 73 Projected Role: 3rd forward line Projected Stats: 7 G | 8 A | 15 P | 64 HIT | 10 SB | -7 | 15.00 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line Midseason Stats: 2 G | 6 A | 8 P | 26 HIT | 8 SB | -11 | 16.26 AMG End of season Stats: 8 G | 8 A | 16 P | 43 HIT | 14 SB | -19 | 16.25 AMG Much more lethal scorer in the second part of the season, but overall it quite was dissapointing campagin, that resulted in worst individual statistics among Top 3 TPE players in this race. Smaller role played a part in that too, but certainly my expectaions were here and I'm already looking to improve in the Sophomore campaign, after missing the playoffs for the first time. C Alex Andani @Carbine TPE: 583 -> 583 Strengths: Defense 87, Puck Handling 80, Face Offs 80 Weaknesses: Scoring 71, Checking 40 Projected Role: 3rd forward line Projected Stats: 3 G | 6 A | 9 P | 38 HIT | 8 SB | -18 | 15.00 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line Midseason Stats: 2 G | 5 A | 7 P | 18 HIT | 4 SB | -7 | 14.67 AMG End of season Stats: 4 G | 9 A | 13 P | 43 HIT | 6 SB | -14 | 14.61 AMG Nearly identical second part and slightly better results than expectations, including respectable 47.88% FO%. Developement of this player is crucial for the New England Future. RW Kristaps Ball @jcfbey01 TPE: 549 -> 584 Strengths: Scoring 90, Puck Handling 83 Weaknesses: Checking 40, Passing 80 Projected Role: 3rd forward line Projected Stats: 5 G | 2 A | 7 P | 41 HIT | 0 SB | -7 | 15.00 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line Midseason Stats: 3 G | 3 A | 6 P | 30 HIT | 2 SB | -7 | 14.67 AMG End of season Stats: 6 G | 6 A | 12 P | 45 HIT | 2 SB | -14 | 14.61 AMG 3 goals and 3 assists yet again, even though he made nice leaps in different aspects of his game like passing. He is looking to be ready for a bigger role with the wolfpack next season. RW Noah Konn @NJBadApple TPE: 564 -> 587 Strengths: Scoring 83, Checking 70, Skating: 81 Weaknesses: Passing 71, Discipline: 62 Projected Role: 3rd forward line Projected Stats: 5 G | 4 A | 9 P | 80 HIT | 10 SB | -11 | 14.50 AMG Current Role: 3rd forward line MidseasonStats: 2 G | 3 A | 5 P | 61 HIT | 1 SB | -5 | 15.75 AMG End of season Stats: 5 G | 6 A | 11 P | 99 HIT | 4 SB | -1 | 15.93 AMG Top TPE wise player of the S42 class had his struggles during a season and his scoring wasn't quite up yet, but he still exceeded projections. He certainly hit people though, being second in that category and had fith best +/- on the renegades. D Matěj Eliáš @Samee TPE: 520 -> 552 Strengths: Defense 86, Puck Handling: 81 Weaknesses: Passing 70 , Checking 41 Projected Role: 3rd defensive pairing Projected Stats: 3 G | 5 A | 8 P | 45 HIT | 50 SB | -10 | 14.50 AMG Current Role: 3rd defensive pairing Midseason Stats: 0 G | 5 A | 5 P | 24 HIT | 18 SB | +0 | 14.24 AMG End of season Stats: 2 G | 12 A | 14 P | 63 HIT | 32 SB | +13 | 14.49 AMG He really picked up the slack in the second part of the season, being crucial part of Riot playoff push. Led the rookies in the +/-. D Troy McClure III @Troy_McClure03 TPE: 528 -> 567 Strengths: Defense 90, Checking 68, Passing 80 Weaknesses: Scoring 52 Projected Role: 3rd defensive pairing Projected Stats: 0 G | 5 A | 5 P | 64 HIT | 35 SB | +15 | 13.00 AMG Current Role: 3rd defensive pairing Midseason Stats:0 G | 2 A | 2 P | 27 HIT | 20 SB | +1 | 13.36 AMG End of season Stats: 0 G | 5 A | 5 P | 47 HIT | 36 SB | +3 | 13.28 AMG Slightly better second part of the season for the best team in the SHL. He doesn't deserve to be in a limbo and with his developement and excellent team he is on, Jets should expect much bigger things coming from him in the future. LW Finn Jakobsen @Pope [Leo] TPE: 338 Strengths: Defense: 77, Passing: 75 Weaknesses: Strength: 55 Current Role: 3rd forward line Midseason Stats: 3 G | 6 A | 9 P | 38 HIT | 6 SB | -8 | 18.46 AMG End of season Stats: 5 G | 12 A | 17 P | 73 HIT | 12 SB | -16 | 18.35 AMG He played. Spreadsheet for grading It was fun following this race, first and foremost congratulations to the obvious frontrunners! I hope everyone, involved or not, enjoyed that too and that I didn't miss anyone. While for me my individual season didn't exactly end up as I hoped for, there is always a light at the end of a tunnell and I hope to represent for many seasons to come, maybe even chasing team legends and establishing some records on my own. We'll see what future holds and see you next season!

I was hoping to take the award in emphatic fashion after my first 3 quarters of the season. I trailed off but kept it up to hit the 30 point mark. Nice write up bud, and best of luck to all the hopefuls.
