Game 20: Kelowna v Anchorage

It’s Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and it was a CLOSE game between Anchorage Armada and the Kelowna Knights. I’ll start off with the goalies tonight who were on fire! Mark McFleury saved 18 out of 19 shots, and Benjamin Blue saved 20 out of 22. Shots. We also had some really great supportive players tonight from Greg Conners, Oliver Dahl, Shouta Aizawa, and Time Murda with some beautiful assists for Kelowna and Tucker Baloo and Muhammad McLovin who were really strong provision for the Anchorage team.
Now let’s Go over the periods of the night, shall we?
1st period: Anchorage was the only one to score, but it seems as though the Knights couldn’t seem to get themselves together by the end of the period. Although they manage to squeeze in 5 shots by the end of the period Anchorage doubled that with 10 shots on their goalie, one of which went in of course.
2nd Period: Although Anchorage was starting to get sloppy at the beginning of this period with three icing calls. Kelowna is still really struggling for the first 8 mins of the second period, losing almost all of their face-offs. However, 12 seconds passed the 8-minute mark Vladislav Konstantin Saves the day with Kelowna’s first goal of the night. About 6 minutes later Pavel Volkov takes 2 shots on Benjamin Blue and Armada Anchorage and lands on in the net giving Kelowna the lead. This period was definitely a comeback for the Kelowna Knights scoring 2 out of their 14 shots, and Anchorage really slacking by only taking 5 shots.
3rd period: This was a long for Anchorage, they really fought in this last period but they couldn’t get past Kelowna’s strong defense. Ending the night with a 2-1 win for Kelowna.
Next, on to the 3 Stars of the night, number one goes to no doubt Pavel Volkov of Kelowna Knights. Pavel Scored the winning Goal after taking 2 shots on the net back to back and really fighting for that win. At number 2 we have Doug Dimmadome of Anchorage who scored the first goal of the game and the only goal for anchorage that night within the first 4 minutes of the first period. Talk about getting right to it! And finally, at number 3, Tim Murda of Kelowna Knights. No surprise here as he came through with a beautiful assist and really supported his team throughout. I would also like to give an Honorable Mention and shout out to Maurice Amin. This kid is a fighter. He took a majority of the shots for Anchorage Armada tonight. The next step for him would be to actually score one of them ?
