S29: The Toronto North Stars held a "End our drought" promotion as the team has still not won a Challenge Cup at that point. For every case of water a fan brought to the game, they were given a ticket to a regular season game. The water was to be donated to disaster relief. The promotion started out successfully, but things went south quickly when all the bottled water in Toronto was sold out. The North Stars gave away tens of thousands of free tickets, which destroyed team revenue. Criminal activity in the area skyrocketed as people began to actually break into the arena trying to steal bottled water for home consumption.

S41: St Louis had a bring your own Crow to the Arena day. It turned out really shitty. It seemed like everyone brought a crow in, I guess we should have came out and clarified Scarecrow not an actually living crow. It's rumored that 2 or 3 Crows still haunt the showers.

In S42 the Riot decided to follow suit of the Baltimore orioles and have custom braille edition jerseys for "Blind night in Seattle", except instead of auctioning off for charity they riot thought it would be a good idea to give the jerseys out to any blind person who could complete a scavenger hunt, the problem was that they forgot to print the instructions in Braille, it goes without saying there was outrage and the Riot are still a league wide embarrassment to this day.

Portland Admirals

Every fan at the game received a jersey with a dry eraseboard on the back of it. So when their favorite player was traded, they could just clean the board and put their next favorite player on the jersey. That was the plan, at least. In reality, dicks and other offensive imagery and words were written on the jersey boards, and it was just another blemish on the Portland franchise.

In S38, to celebrate Esa Anrikkanen's 1000th regular season game, naturally the Dragons held Chicken Parm night.

The problem was, the chicken was tainted. All that happened was a world record 18,000 people getting food poisoning the same night.

S23 - The Calgary Dragons held a "Salad Night" Promotion... Let's just say this was not a success and the fall out saw the Dragons finish in last place. In S24 Esa Anrikkanen was hired as GM and introduced "Parm Night" the rest is history.

From season 36-S43 the Edmonton Blizzard had a "promotion" to try and save cap space by trading away all of their second round picks. The promotion has had some mixed reviews after a leak came from the Edmonton front office indicating that the front office was not only trying to save on cap but also trying to avoid having to scout prospects.

The end result of the promotion has been varied. The Blizzard have been able to establish a solid roster with minimal losses, however, the lack of any success in the post season indicates that at this time the experimental promotion was definitely, at least to some extent, a failure.

The S41 New England Wolfpack held $0.25 beer night. The game was canceled after 10 minutes in after the drunks pushed in the protective glass.

During S22 and beyond, then goalie Colin schmidt used the promotional idea of the Platoon hype train. He used a small video clip of a train to be able to hype up the platoon as the young team was able to make it to the playoffs. This promotion was approved by a young GM bojo bisccuit. This promotion ended before the Platoon were able to show their up and coming dominance winning cups in more recent memory

Task: Post a failed promotion for any SHL or SMJHL team. promotion must include the team name, the season, the promotions title and what the promotion entails.

S44 - Heading into S44, the Buffalo Stampede attendance rates were shockingly low, sometimes only filling as much as 40% even during their playoff run. Stuck for ideas Buffalo decided to run the "NOOT NOOT" campaign which encouraged fans of the Stampede to essentially crash live interviews or radio call ins and scream at the top of their lungs "NOOT NOOT". Anybody who did so and gained considerable traction would be offered a free luxury suite for the next Stampede home game. The campaign gained a cult following and now remains the unofficial motto of the Buffalo Stampede.
