S44 PT #4 - Definitive Suggestion Box

Currently there is a cap of three hundred and fifty total points earned (TPE) that is allowed to be applied to a player in the simulation major junior hockey League (smjhl) which is easily surpassed by many players by their second season in the simulation major junior hockey League (smjhl). This message that many simulation major junior hockey League players may become bored with the simulation hockey League as a whole, and stop updating as they will not see their character progress until they are called up to the simulation hockey League to unbank their total points earned. A solution to this problem is to raise the total points earned cap in the simulation major junior hockey League to a higher number like 450 total points earned.
I’m sorry what does smjhl and shl mean again? I forget what the full name is

A second defenseman award would be suitable because of the variety of skilled blueliner we see in the league. The second dman award should go to the best lockdown defender in the league ( take aways, +/- , blocked shots and look at points last). The minutes they log in per game shouldn't matter in judging for this award because the higher the ice time the player gets, it only shows how much responsibility the coach trusts them with and they're capabilities of handling those big minutes.
Offense is what dictates the game and pretty much what it takes for a defenseman (and most of the time it takes a lot more) to win the primary defenseman of the season award. It takes alot of skill to play on both sides of the ice and it makes sense why they're points per game matter in deciding but the secondary defensemen award would be for the defensive specialist, an award giving recognition to the specialists of the art of defense and penalty kill. Besides, defensive forwards have their own award too (best two way forward).

Doubt is a dream killer

I would like to address an issue not listed in the original post, but I think well in keeping with the spirit of the PT, regression. In the recent HO Roundup, regression was menti9ned as something the HO has been discussing. This scared me a bit as it sounds as though major changes are being considered, when in fact one minor tweak will handle everything. The only problem with regression as currently constituted is one more tier to prevent immortal players. As it stands the Esa’s of the world could go on in a half life for fifty seasons if they so desired. Let’s just add one more tier at twenty five seasons just harsh enough to ensure tpe loss every season even if one is a major tpe monster. Twenty five percent would likely do, but our resident math geeks could double check this. Please do not do anything more complicated than this. Don’t change something that works well. The law of unintended consequences is real. Respect it.

It was a grind to get to 150, I wrote it half asleep haha (explains the many spelling and autocorrect errors)

Because I do enjoy waiting til the last minute.

I’m a big fan of the idea of doing a sponsorship system. I think it was Ragnar who first proposed it, but the idea is pretty fantastic. If you had to write X number of words or produce X number of graphics (for all our friends that don’t like to write) every season about a product and you would earn Y TPE or Z dollars, I think it would be a great way to boost activity on the site and give players a way to earn some easy money or easy TPE which is something we’re always looking for. This would have to be pretty carefully balanced because doing this should be a good supplement to your other TPE earnings and not be the primary source of money or TPE for people. It also needs to be beneficial enough to be worth doing. HO should certainly look into this idea more, I’m just not sure what the best balance would be to keep the league moving forward.

A lot of people are proposing for a higher cap in the SMJHL, but I don't really like the idea. In my eyes, the idea is so great for people that have been drafted and are send downs, because it gives them something to grind for and look forward to. With that said, it does shaft the rookies that will inevitably be sitting either scratched or with even less ice time than they already get. It would also make it so that people who aren't even at 350 would see less ice time and an overall push down for people with lower TPE. However, it does make it harder for inactives to reach the cap which would result in more active members playing higher minutes. Overall, I'm torn on the idea. I get why people want it, but I think that both sides of the argument makes sense because it is either helping rookie or helping send downs.
