Top 100 SHL Players of Today!
Season 45

Welcome back everyone, to the seasonal top 100 players of today. So for those who do not know, this is the 26th edition of this article, awarding the top 100 players heading into the 45th season.

I'd like to give a big thanks to everyone who has helped me over the years and who has helped keep the players and teams accurate each season.

I used a points system which graded over 130 players, narrowing the list down to 100 and ranking those elite 100 players of the SHL.

I'd like to ask the media grader to wait for my PM before grading this article.

100. (S40) RW (Texas Renegades) - Iam Essellemm || New Entry
Grade: 64.20
Past Seasons: None

Starting off the list is Iam Essellemm, Texas Renegade and next up and coming premier winger, Iam Essellemm. Essellemm has had two solid seasons in a row, despite only being a couple seasons removed from his rookie campaign, and is already making a major mark when it comes to putting up the points. He scored 13 goals and 35 points in S44, and while the defensive game needs quite a bit of work, it seems like Essellemm is really making strides in his game.

99. (S38) RW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Dick Skillstedt || New Entry
Grade: 64.40
Past Seasons: None

Another newcomer to the list is Dick Skillstedt, a name you will never be able to properly pronounce but with a solid bite and tenacity to his game. Skillstedt enters the list with a 9 goal, 32 point season, which has been pretty much the norm for him for the last few seasons. His defensive game has been adequate, if not world-beating, and his ability to be physical has been impressive.

98. (S36) C (Minnesota Chiefs) - Éric Pelletier || New Entry
Grade: 64.90
Past Seasons: None

At 98 is another newcomer, this one from the great state of Minnesota, Éric Pelletier. Pelletier made a major jump in production in S44, mainly due to the fact he was given a huge amount of ice-time on a team that was in major selling mode during the season, and through that he scored 12 goals and 43 points. He also was much more reliable when it came to staying out of the box, all while increasing his hits from previous seasons.

97. (S36) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Karl Hefeweizen || -42
Grade: 65.50
Past Seasons: S41-68, S42-22, S43-62 S44-55

At 97 is Karl Hefeweizen of the Winnipeg Jets, dropping like a rock after being unable to work on his S43 campaign and improve. Hefeweizen scored 2 goals and only 21 points, his worst performance since S40, and with regression right around the corner it is going to be hard for this defenseman to remain on this list for much longer. Not to mention the lack of any kind of intangibles to his game.

96. (S39) C (Toronto North Stars) - Anders Christiansen || New Entry
Grade: 66.60
Past Seasons: None

At 96 is Anders Christiansen, another newcomer to his list and surprisingly needed an extra year to get on it after his S43 campaign. Christiansen scored 18 goals and 41 points in S43, but didn't seem to get the looks, but in S44 he responded by scoring 15 goals and 32 points, which wasn't quite up to his S43 season but certainly was solid enough to start getting some recognition. He is finally on the list, but will need to do better if he wants to stay on it.

95. (S36) RW (Texas Renegades) - Colton Hagan || -18
Grade: 66.90
Past Seasons: S41-81, S42-87, S43-35 S44-77

At 95 is Renegades winger Colton Hagan, who has had major issues keeping his standing on the list, and is on the cusp of being removed entirely due to his lack of consistency in terms of high-scoring. Hagan scored 17 goals and 33 points in S44, two points higher than his previous season but nowhere near the same production as his 52 point campaign in S42. His physicality has also had its ups and downs, but his ability to keep up the hits is a big reason he is still on the list at this point.

94. (S37) G (Seattle Riot) - Johnny Yuma || Returning Entry
Grade: 66.90
Past Seasons: S43-42

At 94 is Johnny Yuma of the Seattle Riot, and if there was a physical manifestation of the issues the Riot have faced over the many seasons, Yuma is basically it. Yuma has had a rough go of it the last couple of seasons, finishing S44 with only 34 starts and a .893 save percentage. His record? 11-20-3. His goals against average? 3.61. That is an insanely depressing stat line, especially for a goaltender who looked to be getting things together. Now with regression right on his heels, that seems very unlikely.

93. (S38) RW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Joshua Woodcroft || New Entry
Grade: 67.20
Past Seasons: None

Another new entry on the list is Joshua Woodcroft of the Los Angeles Panthers, a player starting to get into his prime and is looking like he has found his niche in terms of production and play. Woodcroft scored 16 goals and 35 points in S44, two shy of his previous season but still producing at a decent clip. The physical game isn't really up to speed, but he still has a couple seasons to prove that if he has the will and the ability.

92. (S31) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - Matthew Leetch || -70
Grade: 68.60
Past Seasons: , S37-, S38-110, S39-94, S40-79, S41-60, S42-4, S43-5 S44-22

At 92 is Panthers defenseman Matthew Leetch, who took quite the tumble after his impressive S41 and S42 seasons, and with his inability to bounce back from his unfortunate S43 campaign has seen him drop a whopping 70 spots. Leetch scored 3 goals and 23 points, was -3, and only registered 54 hits, fewer than the two previous seasons. Leetch is a former top-10 player in the SHL, which means he absolutely has the ability to vault himself back into the good graces of the list, but regression is going to make it harder for him the longer it takes.

91. (S33) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Zanarkand Abes || -40
Grade: 68.70
Past Seasons: S39-68, S40-14, S41-43, S42-36, S43-60 S44-51

At 91 is Zanarkand Abes, another player who has dropped off considerable. Abes scored 10 goals and 32 points in S44, well below the 13 goals and 46 points the season prior, and even the 20 goals and 39 points the season before that. However the biggest hit to his numbers has been in the hits. Going from 100+ hits season in and season out, Abes registered only 38 hits on the year, demonstrating how impactful regression can be on a veteran player.

90. (S33) C (Buffalo Stampede) - Viktor Vorkämpfer || +10
Grade: 68.70
Past Seasons: S41-84, S42-97, S43-52 S44-100

At 90 is Viktor VorVorkämpfer of the Buffalo Stampede, still holding onto the list for dear life as regression continues to whittle away at the rest of the skill he has left. He is certainly fighting back, however, as he bounced back from his S43 season (where he only scored 26 points) with 11 goals and 39 points. Not to mention he increased his hitting totals, something people were not expecting all things considered. While he may no longer be a contender as a top-50 player, he certainly is finding ways to surprise us.

89. (S40) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Ensio Kalju || New Entry
Grade: 68.90
Past Seasons: None

At 89 is Ensio Kalju of the Edmonton Blizzard, a new entry and with only a few seasons under his belt, seems to be hitting somewhat of a stride. Kalju's better season was a year prior where he scored 7 goals and 37 points, and his 2 goals and 20 points in S44 wasn't much to write home about (worst on his team among those players who played more than 15 minutes a game). Many are unsure of how he was able to get this high on the list, but maybe he has a second gear we just haven't seen, yet.

88. (S39) RW (Toronto North Stars) - Mikhail Lokitonov || +12
Grade: 69.40
Past Seasons: S43-95, S44-100

At 88 is Mikhail Lokitonov of the North Stars, a winger who has finally gotten out of the 90s and 100s and is getting the offense into groove. While not his best season, Lokitonov scored 16 goals and 39 points, fourth on the team in scoring (which was important considering premier forward Kristian Eriksson recently retired). He wasn't particularly great in anything else, but at least now has a foundation to work from.

87. (S36) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Dionýz Vyskoč || +7
Grade: 69.60
Past Seasons: S44-94

At 87 is Dionýz Vyskoč of the Platoon, coming off his second Challenge Cup final appearance in a row, mainly due to players like him getting more minutes and opportunities. Vyskoč scored 16 goals and 39 points in S44, and alongside guys like Trevor Wilson and Dani Forsberg almost made it two championships in a row. Intangible qualities for this winger haven't really materialized, which is interesting considering he is getting pretty close to regression at this point.

86. (S35) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Angelo Odjick || -4
Grade: 69.70
Past Seasons: S41-70, S42-78, S43-68, S44-82

At 86 is Angelo Odjick of the Hamilton Steelhawks, dropping off a bit but still showing some consistency in the last few seasons (6 seasons of at least 30 points now). Unfortunately regression is coming up and it is possible that this may be the beginning of the end for him, despite the physical play coming back into focus for him this season.

85. (S40) LW (Manhattan Rage) - Reginald Rove || +1
Grade: 70
Past Seasons: S44-86

Reginald Rove comes into the list at 85, moving up one spot with a season that was actually worse than the season prior. Rove has been pretty much just an okay player, and his 17 goals and 34 points was pretty much par for the course in his career (which is still pretty short). He did reach a career high in hits at least, though that was not a high bar to hit.

84. (S28) G (New England Wolfpack) - Mikke Laukkanen || Returning Entry
Grade: 70.30
Past Seasons: S32-61, S33-30, S34-17, S35-25, S36-27, S37-34, S38-75, S39-49, S40-67, S41-26, S42-60, S43-51

At 84 is Wolfpack goaltender Mikke Laukkanen, who actually is still in the league despite many believing he was out of it and no longer player. Laukkanen hasn't been anything close to his prime seasons, but at least in S44 had a .902 save percentage regardless of his record (which was 19-20-5). His career may be coming to an end, but at least the goaltender is still showing signs of life late in his career.

83. (S36) C (Buffalo Stampede) - Oliver König || +9
Grade: 70.50
Past Seasons: S43-82, S44-92

At 83 is Oliver König of the Stampede, a center who has been in the league longer than most would even remember, considering his career didn't exactly start with a bang. König scored 14 goals and 40 points, getting him back into the 40+ point range, and not a moment too soon. König even broke a personal record in hits with 66 and did so playing a moderate amount of minutes. It is possible this could be a late surge for König and the beginning of his prime.

82. (S39) C (Manhattan Rage) - Yannick Berger || -14
Grade: 70.60
Past Seasons: S44-68

At 82 is Yannick Berger of the Rage, the center who had a top-tier season in S43 but was unable to continue it or build on it in any meaningful way. Berger scored 15 goals and 33 points, which shouldn't be terribly surprising considering the Rage are not a very deep team, meaning he has had fewer options for earning points. His physical play also took a bit of a dive, unfortunately, so it is unknown exactly how his career is going to go from this point.

81. (S28) D (New England Wolfpack) - Mia Landvik || -1
Grade: 70.80
Past Seasons: S35-56, S36-60, S38-65, S39-40, S40-63, S41-36, S42-28, S43-43, S44-80

At 81 is Wolfpack defenseman Mia Landvik, dropping back and possibly very close to getting knocked off this list considering her age. Landvik scored 6 goals and 29 points, which isn't all that terrible for a defenseman, but considering it is now two seasons since she has been able to pass the 30 point mark, this is an unfortunate end to her very long and successful career.

80. (S33) RW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Halfdan Thorstein || -8
Grade: 70.90
Past Seasons: S37-83, S38-81, S39-76, S40-74, S41-69, S42-74, S43-45, S44-72

At 80 is Blizzard winger Halfdan Thorstein, who recently joined up with the future contender Blizzard and could be a major part of their cup run in S45. Thorstein didn't do too shabby in his first few games with the team following the deadline, scoring 5 goals and 12 points in 15 games. Despite regression taking its toll he could have a resurgence simply because he is back on a contending team again.

79. (S37) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Hercules Rockefeller || +9
Grade: 70.90
Past Seasons: S43-96, S44-88

At 79 is Blizzard winger Hercules Rockefeller who continues to move forward in his quest for the top-10 (or top-50 or whatever) with his S44 campaign which saw him score 17 goals and 40 points. With a career high in points and even another double-digit plus minus in +16, Rockefeller is starting to get things together, even if it is later in his career than anticipated. Rockefeller's biggest problem has been hits during his career, in which he isn't exactly a game-changer.

78. (S32) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Leafer Rielly || -18
Grade: 71.40
Past Seasons: S39-95, S40-44, S41-39, S42-44, S43-66, S44-60

At 78 is Platoon winger Leafer Rielly, dropping back quite a bit as he is starting to lose his offensive mettle over the years. Rielly scored 16 goals and 36 points, below his previous season and well below his career high. It shouldn't be too surprising considering he is getting deep into regression, but it is disappointing to see players like Rielly keep it together but only enough to be in the low end of the top-100.

77. (S37) RW (Texas Renegades) - Logan Jensen || -6
Grade: 71.40
Past Seasons: S43-99, S44-71

At 77 is Logan Jensen, the Texas Renegade who has been quite the renegade during his career. Thankfully he appears to have lost a bit of that unnecessary edge and is an effective hockey player at this point. Jensen scored 18 goals and 38 points in S44, and while he isn't exactly improving in the offense department it seems like he is at least demonstrating a bit more consistency in his own end. Unlikely he makes that into anything more than what it is, but we shall see.

76. (S33) RW (Manhattan Rage) - Yuriy Starkonov || -6
Grade: 71.60
Past Seasons: S43-88, S44-70

Yuriy Starkonov comes in at number 76, playing on a team that really did not have its act together, so it is a bit surprising to see him drop all things considered. Starkonov scored 11 goals and 37 points in S44, which was a step back from the season prior. However he was one of the few positive plus minus players on his team, which has to account for something.

75. (S36) RW (Seattle Riot) - Joseph Lombardi || +1
Grade: 71.80
Past Seasons: S44-76

At 75 is Riot winger Joseph Lombardi, jumping up a single spot but not dropping back despite his brutal season in S44. Lombardi scored 18 goals and 35 points, but was a -16 (a career worst) and didn't meet up to the standards of the season prior. However at least Lombardi appears to be moving away from his S41 season which made some people wonder if he was actually worth the contract he signed in Seattle.

74. (S41) D (Texas Renegades) - Daniel Karlsson || New Entry
Grade: 71.80
Past Seasons: None

At 74 is a new entry on defense, the Renegade Daniel Karlsson who is starting to make waves after his rookie season in S43. Karlsson scored 8 goals and 32 points last season, but considering he is very young and appears to be taking on a very big role in Texas already, he seems like he could be the next up and coming defensive prodigy. But the question remains if he will be able to back that up in the coming seasons.

73. (S36) G (Los Angeles Panthers) - Evgueni Marmeladov || -19
Grade: 74.40
Past Seasons: S41-89, S42-48, S43-39, S44-54

At 73 is Evgueni Marmeladov of the Los Angeles Panthers, a goaltender who is starting to get deep into his career and isn't exactly lighting the world on fire during his career. In S44 Marmeladov went 26-15-5 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.87 goals against average, but with only one shutout and the Panthers not showing much in the way of playoff domination, what are we to make of this goaltender?

72. (S39) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - James Johnson || New Entry
Grade: 74.50
Past Seasons: None

Another new entry on the list is James Johnson of the Los Angeles Panthers, who is starting to demonstrate some solid consistency on the back end with his last three seasons. Johnson scored 8 goals and 31 points, and even continues to bring a bit if physicality to his game (if not that much). Will he stay among the 70s or can he start to improve his offense and get even better?

71. (S34) C (New England Wolfpack) - Xander Green || -29
Grade: 74.70
Past Seasons: S40-99, S41-92, S43-47, S44-42

At 71 is Wolfpack center Xander Green, who is out of the top-50 after his S44 season which was decidedly different than previous seasons before it. Green scored only 11 goals and 37 points, as compared to the season prior where he scored 15 goals and 46 points. Not to mention he is back to being a minus player after his poor defensive efforts, and on top of all that refuses to get into the dirty areas, something needed out of a center to be very successful.

70. (S35) G (Buffalo Stampede) - Jordin Fourfour Jr. || -66
Grade: 75.10
Past Seasons: , S37-, S38-, S39-888, S40-42, S41-74, S42-40, S43-3, S44-4

At 70 is Stampede goaltender Jordin Fourfour Jr., who is having some troubles keeping with the prestige of his predecessor in Jordin Fourfour Sr. Fourfour Jr. went 17-22-5, finished with a .897 goals against average, however did have his moments, as he earned 2 shutouts on the year even with a poor statline like that. Can he bring it back or did the Stampede hitch their wagon to the wrong horse?

69. (S31) D (West Kendall Platoon) - Ludwig Koch Schröder || -22
Grade: 75.20
Past Seasons: S33-98, S34-92, S35-82, S36-71, S37-11, S38-32, S39-32, S40-18, S41-31, S42-31, S43-50, S44-47

At 69 is Ludwig Koch Schröder, out of the top-50 for the first time since S36 (almost a decade), and it isn't entirely surprising to see an aging defenseman with his stats falling. Schröder scored 5 goals and 30 points in S44, in line with his previous couple of seasons (though his worst since S33). His physicality is still there, though not anything to brag too much about, and he did block 85 shots.

68. (S32) C (Edmonton Blizzard) - Teodors Cukurs || -9
Grade: 75.30
Past Seasons: S39-56, S40-59, S41-87, S42-68, S43-59, S44-59

At 68 is Teodors Cukurs of the Edmonton Blizzard, also dropping back, and still unable to crack the top-50 after multiple seasons. Somewhat surprising considering Cukurs scored 14 goals and 41 points in S44 which was a pretty decent statline all things consiedered. He was even a solid contributor on the physical side and even was a career-high +21 on the year. Is 40 points simply not enough, anymore?

67. (S32) LW (Buffalo Stampede) - Luke Atmey || -14
Grade: 75.60
Past Seasons: S34-93, S36-51, S37-14, S38-8, S39-21, S40-10, S41-3, S42-23, S43-49, S44-53

At 67 is Stampede winger Luke Atmey, another veteran dropping on the lists and a far cry from what we had seen from him many seasons prior. Atmey scored 17 goals and 37 points, was a minus 10, but he did break his previous best for hits as he registered 151 on the season. Perhaps he has passed his peak and he is taking it out on the players on the other team?

66. (S38) D (Buffalo Stampede) - Tatu Mäkelä || -5
Grade: 75.60
Past Seasons: S42-84, S43-80, S44-61

At 66 is Stampede defender Tatu Mäkelä, who is starting to hit a bit of a rut in production (but four 30+ point seasons in a row isn't too bad for a young player like him). He scored 6 goals and 34 points (a career high at this point), however despite blocking 86 hits he didn't do much in terms of laying his body out there. Can he become a two-way contributor or will he be a semi-capable offensive threat and nothing more?

65. (S39) D (Toronto North Stars) - Bob Bergen || -8
Grade: 75.70
Past Seasons: S42-58, S43-69, S44-57

Bob Bergen of the North Stars comes in at 65, another player who is stagnating a bit on the scoresheet but at least being consistent. Bergen scored 8 goals and 32 points, blocked 79 shots, and even broke his previous best in hits with 76 on the year. Still young and a lot of room to grow, Bergen just needs to break out of this rut and he could be a dominant defenseman for the Stars.

64. (S42) G (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Geezus Kryyst || New Entry
Grade: 75.70
Past Seasons: None

A new entry on the list comes in at 64, it is Geezus Kryyst, coming in with a pretty respectable 21-17-5 record and .909 save percentage, keeping up the wins but improving his ability to stop shots. Another young Toronto player to look out for, Kryyst has all the tools it seems to be successful, he just needs to figure out how to put them together.

63. (S33) RW (Toronto North Stars) - Chris York || -45
Grade: 75.80
Past Seasons: S39-34, S40-1, S41-1, S42-3, S43-1, S44-18

At 63 is yet another North Stars winger, Chris York. York has fallen a great deal since his dominant seasons a few years back, scoring only 17 goals and 39 points. His physical game completely deteriorated, as well, failing to register 100+ hits for the first time in his career (he only had 58). With the new blood coming in, this appears to be a sign that the old guard in Toronto is not long for this world.

62. (S30) LW (Texas Renegades) - Conklin Owen || +27
Grade: 75.80
Past Seasons: S35-85, S37-57, S38-57, S40-6, S41-47, S42-65, S43-61, S44-89

at 62 is Renegade Conklin Owen, recovering from one of the worst seasons of his career in S43 with a solid showing. He scored 22 goals and 48 points, and while that is basically all he did on the ice (no defensive game to speak of apparently) he still seemed to be a pretty effective player.

61. (S27) LW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Maximilian Wächter || -22
Grade: 76.10
Past Seasons: S32-98, S33-79, S34-56, S35-22, S36-13, S37-16, S38-39, S39-47, S40-55, S41-35, S42-15, S43-14, S44-39

Panthers winger and long time friend of this list Maximilian Wächter comes in at number 61, a solid 40+ point player (6 40+ seasons in a row and 11 in the last 12), he could become the next Nicholas Pedersen (and may get snubbed from the Hall of Fame as well). Can he reach the same heights as Pedersen did late in his career (he is currently only 154 points away from passing him in points) or will he fall short and not be recognized in the same vein when he retires?

60. (S30) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Jean-Luc Reflieux || -47
Grade: 76.30
Past Seasons: S34-96, S35-97, S36-99, S37-43, S38-73, S39-61, S40-68, S41-32, S42-24, S43-10, S44-13

Jean-Luc Reflieux comes in at number 60 and could be falling really fast. The prolific scoring center had a major down season, breaking his streak of 50+ point seasons and ending it at 4, scoring only 15 goals and 35 points on the year. To top it all off his defensive game and physical play has been so inconsistent as to make him a very unreliable two-way player. This could be the beginning of the end if he doesn't get his act together.

59. (S36) RW (Calgary Dragons) - Roman Augustus || +19
Grade: 76.60
Past Seasons: S40-83, S41-49, S42-41, S43-55, S44-78

At number 59 is Dragons winger roman Augustus who moves up on the list after a big drop in S43. Augustus scored 22 goals an 43 points in S44, getting some solid consistency going despite getting very close to regression. Can Augustus sneak back into the top-50 at this point? Time will tell.

58. (S36) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Yuri Boyka Jr. || +23
Grade: 76.60
Past Seasons: S41-90, S42-75, S43-81, S44-81

At 58 is Panthers center Yuri Boyka Jr., having a career year as he starts to enter his prime, scoring 18 goals and 45 points, a +10, and 69 hits. Not exactly elite numbers, but still starting to show some promise offensively and make Boyka Sr. proud of his efforts.

57. (S39) G (Minnesota Chiefs) - Sebastien Primeau || +33
Grade: 76.60
Past Seasons: S43-92, S44-90

At 57 is Chiefs goaltender Sebastien Primeau, a goaltender who hasn't exactly turned heads yet during his career, but may finally be starting to show his worth as a starting goaltender. Against all odds Primeau was able to register 22 wins and a .906 save percentage, helping the Chiefs get into the playoffs when nobody really expected they would. He definitely has some kinks in his game that need to be worked out, however, which will be necessary if the Chiefs want to contend again.

56. (S38) RW (Minnesota Chiefs) - Bobby Watson || +40
Grade: 77.10
Past Seasons: S41-98, S42-80, S43-56, S44-96

Bobby Watson comes in at number 56, a Chiefs winger who along with Terrance Nova and Noro Wozy put the Chiefs on his back and had his best season yet. He scored 22 goals and 49 points, along with a first-time 100 hits and 200+ shots. Watson is coming along as an underrated two-way behemoth who is looking like he is about to explode.

55. (S39) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Gary Grease || +10
Grade: 77.30
Past Seasons: S44-65

At 55 is Jets defender Gary Grease, moving on the list despite a poor response to his S43 campaign where he scored 30+ points for the very first time. Grease scored 4 goals an d28 points, which was 11 points shy of his previous season, but his physical play has really started to blossom, which could make him a very reliable stay at home defenseman. However he has room to grow, so he could hone that offense and become a major Stevens contender if he continues to train.

54. (S32) D (Buffalo Stampede) - Charles Walker || -11
Grade: 77.80
Past Seasons: S39-81, S40-95, S41-55, S42-20, S43-67, S44-43

At 54 is Charlese Walker of the Buffalo Stampede, dropping back due to a drop in production that could have been anticipated considering he is getting deep into regression. Walker scored 5 goals and 27 points, demonstrating a lack of consistency which is why he has been back and forth on the list. With regression getting worse and not better, it is going to be very difficult to find that consistency at this point.

53. (S36) D (Seattle Riot) - Clint Eastwood || -21
Grade: 78
Past Seasons: S42-57, S43-37, S44-32

At 53 is Clint Eastwood, another defenseman who has been plagued by inconsistency, but at least with some time to rectify it. Eastwood scored 3 goals and 29 points, was -28, and blocked only 68 shots despite an increase in minutes. After what we thought was a breakout season in S41 and S42, it is unfortunate to see this slide in production.

52. (S39) G (Edmonton Blizzard) - Tommy Tuck || New Entry
Grade: 78.20
Past Seasons: None

At 52 is Blizzard goaltender Tommy Tuck, a new entry with his increased role in Edmonton and a winning mentality. Tuck went 29-11-4 with a .912 save percentage and 2.58 goals against average, with 4 shutouts to boot. Tuck was a major reason for the Blizzard's success and at such a young age there is a lot of potential, there.

51. (S36) C (Winnipeg Jets) - Vijanupatan Singh || New Entry
Grade: 78.30
Past Seasons: None

Vijanupatan Singh comes in at 51, another new entry and with his second 40+ point season in a row it shouldn't be any surprise to see him this high on the list this early. Singh scored 20 goals an d47 points, a career high in both categories, and while the physicality isn't there, yet, he looks like the kind of player who may not need to do that to be effective.

50. (S38) C (Buffalo Stampede) - Dermot Lavelle || +24
Grade: 78.50
Past Seasons: S42-99, S43-87, S44-74

At 50 is Stampede center Dermot Lavelle, a player who despite Buffalo's struggles has been quite effective during his SHL career (3 40+ seasons in the 4 seasons he has played so far). Lavelle scored 22 goals and 46 points, a solid number for a player this young in the league. Can he get even better, or will this be his high point?

49. (S36) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Alexander Zajac || +7
Grade: 78.7
Past Seasons: S43-91, S44-56

Starting the top-50 (kind of) is Alexander Zajac of the Hamilton Steelhawks, a winger who has had a pretty solid start to his career, and is now getting his stride in during his prime years. Zajac scored 17 goals and 41 points, and while defensively he wasn't anything to write home about, he certainly demonstrated value to the Steelhawks in S44.

48. (S35) D (Manhattan Rage) - Shoyu Kikkoman || -2
Grade: 78.9
Past Seasons: S41-29, S42-26, S43-57, S44-46

At 48 is Rage defender Shoyu Kikkoman, dropping back a bit but still being pretty consistent on a team that has had some major struggles in a rebuilding phase. Kikkoman scored 8 goals and 32 points, was +2, and registered 88 hits. It is a bit of a surprise to see his physicality drop to such a degree, especially since he shouldn't be feeling the effects of regression at this point.

47. (S35) LW (Winnipeg Jets) - Maruizio Arrivabene || +36
Grade: 78.9
Past Seasons: S44-83

At 47 is Jets winger Maruizio Arrivabene, making his first entry into the top-50 after his second straight 40+ point season, showing that he could definitely be for real as an elite player in the league. Arrivabene scored 20 goals and 45 points, not quite as good as the season prior, but the fact he was able to bring in two 40+ seasons in a row (especially in response to his 21 point season in S42) was a major factor in his positioning.

45. (S31) RW (WInnipeg Jets) - Zach Evans || +5
Grade: 79
Past Seasons: S36-62, S37-23, S38-7, S39-4, S40-8, S41-14, S42-18, S43-33, S44-50

At 45 is Zach Evans of the Winnipeg Jets, getting a couple spots in on the list and back to his top-10 self after his 10th straight 40+ point season. Evans scored 14 goals and 45 points, and while he is under regression and isn't likely to hit the 50 or even 60+ point mark ever again, Evans has been a reliable offensive contributor for Winnipeg during his career.

44. (S31) RW (Texas Renegades) - Vasily Horvat || +8
Grade: 79.20
Past Seasons: S43-44, S44-52

At 44 is Renegade winger Vasily Horvat, who entered the list in the 50ish mark and continue to hover around there, a player who took some time to get going but has certainly managed to find a niche in the league as a solid two-way player. Horvat scored 15 goals and 42 points in S44, with his third 200+ hit season in a row. Despite playing while under regression he has remained a staple on the Texas Renegade roster.

43. (S41) G (Calgary Dragons) - Kata Vilde || New Entry
Grade: 79.20
Past Seasons: None

At 43 is another newcomer, blowing people away after registering a regular season that put previous starting goaltender Richard C. Hocolate to shame. Kata Vilde went 17-13-3 in only 33 starts, but in that time registered a .916 save percentage and 2.61 goals against average. Despite taking some time in the SMJHL to get going, Vilde certainly turned heads with his performance as a rookie goaltender.

42. (S36) D (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Sami Owens || -22
Grade: 79.40
Past Seasons: S42-69, S43-46, S44-20

Sami Owens comes into the list at 42, a player who hasn't been in the league as much as some would think, but has had some struggles as of late. Owens scored 10 goals and 28 points in S44, a far cry from what we saw of him in S41-S43, and many are asking questions as to why that is. He isn't regressing, so what exactly is the problem with him at this moment?

41. (S30) D (West Kendall Platoon) - Jon Ross || -7
Grade: 79.40
Past Seasons: S33-89, S34-84, S35-58, S36-63, S37-92, S38-98, S39-99, S40-66, S42-76, S43-70, S44-34

At 41 is Jon Ross, a player who is finishing up his career and doing a pretty good job of it after 14 seasons. Ross scored 4 goals and 32 points in S44, not his best season but certainly not his worst, and his consistency year to year has been pretty darn impressive. 444 career points in 650 career games up to this point isn't anything to scoff at for a defenseman, for sure.

40. (S33) RW (Winnipeg Jets) - Crossfit Jesus || +8
Grade: 79.40
Past Seasons: S39-90, S40-92, S42-86, S44-48

Finishing up the 40s is Crossfit Jesus of the WInnipeg Jets, entering another plateau after finally breaking through to the top-50 on the list. Jesus scored 19 goals and 41 points in S44, dropping back from his 54 point season the year prior, but the fact he was still able to get 40+ points means that people are starting to notice some consistency in his game. However, with regression the way that it is, it isn't entirely guaranteed that he will be able to keep that up.

39. (S31) LW (Winnipeg Jets) - Pietra Volkova || +6
Grade: 79.90
Past Seasons: S36-93, S37-98, S38-85, S39-41, S40-35, S41-21, S42-46, S43-71, S44-45

At 39 is Jets winger Pietra Volkova, in the top-40 once again after a couple seasons on the outside looking in. Volkova has been pretty consistent as of late, even though that consistency is likely to wane over the next few seasons due to regression. She scored 17 goals and 40 points in S44, with 7 straight 100+ hit seasons, making Volkova a surprisingly effective two-way physical presence despite being a veteran at this point with a lot of miles.

38. (S31) LW (West Kendall Platoon) - Trevor Wilson || -14
Grade: 80.30
Past Seasons: S37-82, S38-56, S39-39, S40-12, S41-13, S42-33, S43-25, S44-24

At 38 is Platoon winger Trevor Wilson, finally breaking the streak of 50+ and finishing it at 6, a solid showing for the winger and on a team that emphasizes team over individual more than most. Wilson scored 17 goals and 41 points in S44, with 200+ shots, meaning his ability to get his shots to find the back of the net has been reduced through the years.

37. (S35) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Spitfire || -1
Grade: 80.30
Past Seasons: S43-40, S44-36

At 37 is Blizzard defender Spitfire, moving from a couple teams in the last couple of seasons but maintaining his status as a top-40 player the last three seasons. Spitfire scored 5 goals and 34 points with the Winnipeg Jets, his fourth 30+ point season in a row, and despite the lack of a physical game is likely to continue the trend as a top-tier defensive produce despite entering regression. Can Spitfire replicate his 40 point season of S42 before regression takes its toll?

36. (S39) G (San Francisco Pride) - Chris Partridge || +57
Grade: 80.40
Past Seasons: S44-93

At 36 is Pride goaltender Chris Partridge who makes a major rise up to the top-50 with his S44 campaign, and despite the fact the Pride have been a dumpster fire he has shown some remarkable resilience in net. Partridge went 12-26-6, but posted a .910 save percentage in that time (while facing a whopping 1662 shots (that is around 37 shots against per game on average).

35. (S32) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Cory Knouse || +9
Grade: 80.50
Past Seasons: S37-100, S38-96, S39-70, S40-34, S41-12, S42-17, S43-12, S44-44

At 35 is Blizzard winger Cory Knouse, a player who was oh so close to the top-10 but was only a hair shy of reaching the goal, and is now further out than he likely would want to be. Knouse scored 19 goals and 46 points in S44, which is very similar to his season the year prior and still pretty great all things considered, but isn't up to the level we have seen Knouse play at when he was at his best.

34. (S37) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Connor Tanner || +15
Grade: 80.50
Past Seasons: S42-56, S43-26, S44-49

At 34 is Connor Tanner, another Blizzard player who has struggled to get back to his play in previous seasons. Tanner scored 12 goals and 39 points, and despite not getting to his S42 campaign where he scored 46 points, the double digit goals was a career high and definitely at least partially made up for the lack of points from that season. He hasn't been the most physical of players during his career, but he is certainly more aggressive than others.

33. (S31) LW (Winnipeg Jets) - Corey Bearss || -8
Grade: 80.80
Past Seasons: S37-55, S38-9, S39-2, S40-32, S41-52, S42-11, S43-54, S44-25

At 33 is a winger who is a far cry from his top-10 dominating seasons, Winnipeg Jets winger Corey Bears. Bearss has remained a very present force in the league, however, scoring 19 goals and 41 points in S44, starting to break free from his S42 season which saw him only score 15 goals and 35 points. His physical game has deteriorated significantly, however, which many wonder could inhibit his ability to stay among the leaders on this list in the future.

32. (S35) G (Winnipeg Jets) - Artom Zhumbayev || +6
Grade: 81.50
Past Seasons: S41-100, S42-19, S43-19, S44-38

At 32 is Artom Zhumbayev of the Winnipeg Jets, another player that hasn't quite been at the same form as previous seasons, but is keeping competitive and could still be a force to be reckoned with even as regression begins to hit him. Zhumbayev went 24-14-6 in S44 with a .910 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average, which is pretty solid all things considered. Can he do better? Possibly. Can he do worse? Maybe.

31. (S30) D (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Ben Dover || -14
Grade: 81.60
Past Seasons: S33-88, S34-34, S35-62, S36-29, S37-30, S38-5, S39-6, S40-15, S41-15, S42-8, S43-11, S44-17

Ben Dover comes in at 31, droping back a few spots with him unable to break the 40+ point mark for the second straight season. However, that doesn't mean he hasn't been pretty darn consistent in the last few seasons, as he has registered 30+ points over the last 13 seasons. You rarely see a defender produce that well for that long without at least one lull in production, but Dover has found a way to defy expectations.

30. (S37) G (West Kendall Platoon) - Beaujeaux Biscuit || -15
Grade: 82.60
Past Seasons: S41-53, S42-25, S43-7, S44-15

At 30 is another former top-10 player/goaltender, Beaujeaux Biscuit, falling a bit down to earth after his dominating playoff performances and regular seasons in recent history. Biscuit went 25-12-7, getting his team back into the playoffs and all the way to the finals, but his .910 save percentage was only pretty good, not amazingly great as we have come to expect from him. Either way, he is still a pretty young elite goaltender, which means there is still plenty of time to get back in the saddle and get into the top-10 once again.

29. (S39) G (Manhattan Rage) - Cedric Moreau || +37
Grade: 83
Past Seasons: S44-66

At 29 is Rage goaltender Cedric Moreau, playing well behind a team that is deep in rebuilding mode and despite facing an incredibly high number of shots. In S44 he went 18-21-5, but posted a .916 save percentage, 2.06 goals against average with 1552 shots against, and even was able to registere a shutout to top it all off. Moreau is in a good position all things considered, young and on a team that is possibly a couple years removed from contention status, and he just needs to keep it up to be a McBride contender.

28. (S39) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Brady McIntyre || New Entry
Grade: 83.30
Past Seasons: None

At 28 is Blizzard defenseman Brady McIntyre, a new entry on the list after a major uptick in performance due to an increase in usage. McIntyre scored 10 goals and 48 points, a career high in both, with a +17, 64 blocked shots, 10 powerplay points, and even 56 hits. He improved in every single metric and still has room to grow. Can he become a physical presence and make himself a true Stevens contender in the future? There is plenty of time for that to happen.

27. (S33) D (Toronto North Stars) - Zander Rhys || +3
Grade: 83.50
Past Seasons: S37-99, S38-54, S39-10, S40-5, S41-19, S42-5, S43-6, S44-30

At 27 is North Stars defenseman Zander Rhys, moving slightly on the list and combatting regression despite potentially not being a top-10 player from this point out. Rhys scored 12 goals and 41 points in S44, rebounding from his poor S43 season and doing so despite dropping his hit totals (he still registered 100+ hits on the season). Rhys is a veteran presence that is helping the North Stars rebuild and the youngsters understand the game, but it isn't guaranteed that he can keep this place on the list considering regression is going to get worse and worse as the seasons go by.

26. (S40) G (Texas Renegades) - Walter Hobbs || +32
Grade: 84.50
Past Seasons: S43-74, S44-58

At 26 is Renegades goaltender Walter Hobbs, making a big jump on the list due to a big jump in his performance. Hobbs was under fire a lot during games this season, facing 1468 shots on net (among the most among starters), but kept his cool and finished strong with a .918 save percentage and a 23-19-1 record with a 2.80 goals against average. Hobbs is one of the youngest starters in the league, so this kind of production this early in his career could bode very well for Texas in the future seasons.

25. (S35) C (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Robert Phelps || +3
Grade: 84.60
Past Seasons: S39-66, S40-37, S41-57, S42-35, S43-48, S44-28

Robert Phelps comes in on the list at 25, surprisingly sticking around the same level he was before, although it isn't expected to last with regression knocking on the door. Phelps scored 16 goals and 46 points in S44, and while they weren't career highs, it was a pretty solid showing for the center, especially with him continuing to be a solid physical presence on the ice. However, the question at this point is will he be able to get back to 50 points again, or even continue the 40+ point streak that he has had since he started his career?

24. (S38) D (Texas Renegades) - Thé Dude || -12
Grade: 85.30
Past Seasons: S43-41, S44-12

At 24 is a young and prolific defender, Thé Dude. Thé Dude scored 9 goals and 34 points in S44, and unfortunately this was a major disappointment for the defenseman, as the two previous seasons saw him scoring 40+ points and it looked like this was the start of a Stevens-filled career. Thankfully he is still pretty young and can get back to where he was in S42 and S43, but time isn't going to be a friend if he takes to long to get there.

23. (S36) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Teddy Cuddles || +50
Grade: 85.30
Past Seasons: S41-86, S42-98, S43-77, S44-73

At 23 is Blizzard winger Teddy Cuddles, making a big jump on the list after a career season which saw him score 21 goals (his first 20+ goal season) and 53 points, with a +19 plus minus and 100+ hits yet again (he has not had a season under 100 hits so far in his career). This is about what we should be expecting from a player like Cuddles, who has been on track to be a productive elite player who can do pretty much everything out there despite being a winger. Can he keep it up in the next couple of seasons when regression begins to come calling?

22. (S37) D (San Francisco Pride) - Jack Tanner || -13
Grade: 85.50
Past Seasons: S41-65, S42-21, S43-34, S44-9

At 22 is Jack Tanner of the Pride, falling back a bit but still maintaining a solid productive season. In S44 he scored 5 goals and 34 points, and while he was a -21 that was pretty much the state of the team last season (and possibly in S45). Tanner will need to make that extra step if he wants the Pride to get into contender status, as right now the team has been nothing short of disappointing.

21. (S31) D (Calgary Dragons) - Adam Kaiser || -10
Grade: 85.90
Past Seasons: S38-88, S39-42, S40-25, S41-7, S42-2, S43-8, S44-11

At 21 is Dragons defender Adam Kaiser, who has been incredibly good through the majority of his career, and while he was unable to keep his 40+ streak going, he has been a valuable addition to a Dragons team that is only just now starting to get into a rebuilding phase. Kaiser scored 11 goals and 37 points, with only 39 hits, but was still a +6 and solid defensively all-around.

20. (S36) D (San Francisco Pride) - Isak Ødegård || +7
Grade: 85.90
Past Seasons: S42-59, S43-53, S44-27

Rounding out the 20s is Isak Ødegård, former Minnesota Chief and now entering a phase in his career where he is going to be mentoring the youngsters on a rebuilding team. Ødegård scored 12 goals and 36 points, but his movement to San Francisco is noticeable as he was a -25 on the year, a career worst plus minus by far. He did record a career high 111 hits on the year, which is somewhat surprising considering his age.

19. (S34) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Matthew Auston || +7
Grade: 86
Past Seasons: S42-81, S43-38, S44-26

Matthew Auston enters the top-20 for the first time in his career, coming in at number 19. Auston scored 23 goals and 48 points on the year, his fourth straight 45+ point season (and fourth season in a row with 20+ goals). In the middle of his prime, Auston appears to be really putting the pedal to the metal, and continues to be a very consistent player. His hits are even starting to go up, even though that may not last all that long.

18. (S31) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - Toivo Kosonen || +5
Grade: 86.90
Past Seasons: S36-76, S37-76, S38-84, S39-46, S40-60, S41-40, S42-53, S43-22, S44-23

At 18 is Panthers defenseman Toivo Kosonen, moving into the top-20 for the first time in his career as well. Kosonen has had quite the long career, doing pretty well for himself but not exactly being the center of attention. He scored 8 goals and 40 points, his third ever 40+ point season, which is somewhat surprising to see considering he has been a major staple of the Wolfpack lineup for many years, alongside Jasper Clayton during his hey-day there.

17. (S31) LW (West Kendall Platoon) - Alex Light || -3
Grade: 87.90
Past Seasons: S37-74, S38-80, S39-53, S40-49, S41-37, S42-62, S43-23, S44-14

At 17 is Platoon winger Alex Light, a player that has been incredibly consistent in his production over the last decade or so, scoring 40+ points for the last 7 seasons, and 8 of the last 9. Light scored 25 goals and 49 points, actually tying his career best goal total from S42 despite his body starting to break down. Light certainly isn't getting any younger, but to be at this level at his age is pretty incredible.

16. (S39) D (Texas Renegades) - Liam O'Callaghan || New Entry
Grade: 88
Past Seasons: None

At 16 is Renegade defender Liam O'Callaghan, a player who just exploded onto the scene after his first season in Texas, scoring 14 goals and 46 points. This was a career year for the young defender, even registering 102 hits which nobody was anticipating going into S44. O'Callaghan was certainly a sparkplug on the ice as well, so it will be interesting to see how his play continues from this point.

15. (S31) RW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Joe Kurczewski || -5
Grade: 88.80
Past Seasons: S37-44, S38-18, S39-18, S40-26, S41-2, S42-6, S43-2, S44-10

At 15 is newly added Blizzard winger Joe Kurczewski, who after 12 seasons is finally seeing a change of pace with a new team. His trade from Calgary shocked the world, and with Edmonton in contention status Kurczewski has nowhere to go but up. He scored 21 goals and 45 points in his final year with the Dragons, registering 211 hits (just 1 shy of his career best) and even 229 shots. Kurczewski has shown no signs of slowing down as of yet, and Edmonton is going to be happy for picking him up.

14. (S35) D (Toronto North Stars) - Finn Krüger || +19
Grade: 88.80
Past Seasons: S39-82, S40-77, S41-79, S42-66, S43-72, S44-33

At 14 is North Stars defender Finn Krüger, who vaulted into the top-20 for the first time of his career. On the cusp of entering regression, Krüger has been pretty solid of a defenseman, getting his physical game up (he registered 100+ hits for the first time in his career in S44), he also produced a career-best 10 goals and scored 40 points yet again.

13. (S35) LW (Calgary Dragons) - Mike Izzy || +8
Grade: 91.50
Past Seasons: S40-56, S41-59, S42-55, S43-27, S44-21

At 13 is Mike Izzy, a player who has demonstrated to the SHL world that you don't just need to be a one-way offensive forward to get up high on this list. One of the most physical players in the league right now, Izzy has averaged almost 200 hits through his entire career so far, and in S44 it was no different as he had one of his best seasons yet. He scored 19 goals and 52 points, his second 50+ point season in the last three, and topped it all off with 180 hits to boot.

12. (S36) RW (New England Wolfpack) - Tigole Bitties || +7
Grade: 91.90
Past Seasons: S41-66, S42-63, S43-18, S44-19

At 12 is Wolfpack winger Tigole Bitties, just a bit shy of the top-10 but not for a lack of production. Bitties is one of those players who has been surfing under the radar, scoring 50+ points twice in the last three seasons and averaging 20+ goals in the last five. Bitties scored 22 goals and 51 points in S44, and enjoyed a career high 181 hits, and with him getting into the thick of his prime seasons the best is likely yet to come.

11. (S34) LW (Minnesota Chiefs) - Noro Wozy || +20
Grade: 92
Past Seasons: S37-88, S38-68, S39-58, S40-30, S41-20, S42-27, S43-65, S44-31

At 11 and a hair outside the top-10 is Noro Wozy, a winger for the Chiefs who has finally come into his own and is single-handedly willing the Chiefs to victory these days. Wozy scored 22 goals and 54 points in S44, which was almost as good as his 29 goals and 56 points the previous season. With a lot of their players either being traded or retiring, the team relied on Wozy more than anyone to produce for them and actually get them into the playoffs, and with his prime years starting to run out he is going to need to work overtime if he wants to see the Chiefs win a cup with him in the lineup.

10. (S37) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Tor Tuck || +54
Grade: 92.90
Past Seasons: S43-93, S44-64
[Image: oCnvDsq.png]

Starting off the top-10 is Tor Tuck, Blizzard defenseman who has come into his own in a big way. S44 saw him with a career year, scoring 13 goals and 51 points, not to mention continuing his physical dominance with 110 hits. His two-way game has blossomed, and with a couple years left before regression even starts knocking, it is very likely that Tuck will be a contender as a top-10 player for seasons to come.

9. (S32) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Max Weber || -1
Grade: 93.50
Past Seasons: S36-74, S37-29, S38-12, S39-9, S40-31, S41-9, S42-12, S43-30, S44-8
[Image: xG7k55A.png]

At number 9 is Jets defenseman Max Weber, remaining a top-tier talent in the league despite his point totals dropping a bit. Weber scored 14 goals and 42 points, was +26, and was still solid in the two-way game even though he isn't as physical of a specimen as he has been in previous seasons. The Jets have really benefit from having him in the lineup, and he remains one of the best defenders in the league right now.

8. (S35) RW (Texas Renegades) - Louie Garrett || -5
Grade: 94
Past Seasons: S40-48, S41-42, S42-32, S43-16, S44-3
[Image: 3OfqyaH.png]

Louie Garrett comes in at number 8, his second straight top-10 ranking with his fourth 50+ point season in a row and fifth 20+ goal season in the last six seasons. Garrett has been the model of consistency on the Riot and the Renegades, and regardless of the strength of his teammates he has been able to produce. He scored 24 goals and 50 points, and even registered 128 hits (the second most of his career). He has all the tools and could definitely keep this up for at least another five seasons.

7. (S28) G (Toronto North Stars) - Michael McFadden || +34
Grade: 95
Past Seasons: S31-73, S32-73, S33-56, S34-58, S35-21, S36-26, S37-42, S38-16, S39-26, S40-21, S41-10, S42-13, S43-24, S44-41
[Image: IQoYqe8.png]

At 7 is Goaltender Michael McFadden, with one of the greatest individual seasons as a goaltender that we have ever seen. McFadden put the North Stars on his back in S44, going 29-13-2 and registering a .932 save percentage and 2.06 goals against average. Despite the team floundering in the playoffs McFadden was dominant, and even deep in regression he is still able to put up those kinds of numbers.

6. (S36) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Oisin Fletcher || +10
Grade: 96
Past Seasons: S40-86, S41-96, S42-95, S43-17, S44-16
[Image: f1CyyQe.png]

At 6 is Oisin Fletcher, his first ever top-10 ranking after being able to rebound from a not-so-great season in S43 (which was not-so-great due to the amazing season he had before where he scored 29 goals and 64 points). Fletcher scored 27 goals and 58 points in S44, was +22, and registered 124 hits, making him one of the most productive two-way wingers in the league last season. This is quite the response considering the ciriticism of all those players who requested out of New England last season, and it is clear that Fletcher is doing just fine despite that controversy.

5. (S32) RW (Minnesota Chiefs) - Terrance Nova || +1
Grade: 97.10
Past Seasons: S34-83, S35-28, S36-36, S37-56, S38-24, S39-15, S40-7, S41-45, S42-43, S43-31, S44-6
[Image: cJPDDxR.png]

Starting out the top-5 is Terrance Nova of the Minnesota Chiefs, another dominanting figure that has been arguably the most important piece of the Minnesota Chiefs franchise for the last 5 seasons. Nova has registered at least 40 points since his sophomore season, and in S43 he earned his first 60 point season in the SHL. In S44 he followed it up with more elite play, scoring 19 goals and 55 points, with 151 hits and minutes on both the powerplay and penalty kill.

4. (S31) D (Buffalo Stampede) - Alexis Metzler || -2
Grade: 97.30
Past Seasons: S36-66, S38-44, S39-35, S40-13, S41-33, S42-16, S43-4, S44-2
[Image: tXmqXdi.png]

At number 4 is Alexis Metzler, a defenseman who has been a top-10 player for the last three seasons, and going into S45 he is considered the number 1 defenseman of the entire pack. Metzler scored 9 goals and 46 points in S50, his fourth straight 40+ point season, and 7th in 8. Couple that play with his 169 hits, and there is no wonder why he is ranked as highly as he is with the seasons that he has been having in recent years.

3. (S31) C (Winnipeg Jets) - Jason Visser || -2
Grade: 98
Past Seasons: S36-49, S37-6, S38-4, S39-3, S40-28, S41-11, S42-1, S43-28, S44-1
[Image: iHYCFRE.png]

At 3 is a very familiar face, Jason Visser, who unfortunately once again surrendered his number 1 crown (he and Chris York are the only two current players with more than one number 1 ranking) but is still within the cusp of taking it again. Visser scored 19 goals and 47 points in S44, which is certainly a major drop from his 29 goals and 74 points a season prior, but not too unexpected all things considered. With his history being taken into account, don't be surprised if he scores 70 points in S45.

2. (S35) RW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Sophia Bennett || +5
Grade: 98.20
Past Seasons: S40-98, S41-54, S42-37, S43-21, S44-7
[Image: 1J64iqo.png]

At number two is Sophia Bennett f the Los Angeles Panthers, the second top-10 ranking of this veteran's career. Bennett has been one of the premier talents for Los Angeles, scoring 50+ points the last four straight. Bennett scored 22 goals and 56 points, right in line with the last few seasons, and with 144 hits (a career high) to boot.

1. (S34) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Dani Forsberg || +4
Grade: 98.50
Past Seasons: S41-51, S42-38, S43-13, S44-5
[Image: PPq3ERG.png]

Hitting the number 1 spot for the top-100 is none other than Dani Forsberg, a winger who has seen his fair share of regular season and playoff success. Forsberg has scored 50+ points in the last five seasons straight, topping it off with his 22 goals and 53 points in S44. Not only that but his 234 hits was the most among all skaters, which is something you don't typically see with the stars in this league. Because of his two-way prowess, his physical dominance, and his consistency, he was an easy pick for the number one player in the top-100 this season.

98. (S36) C (Minnesota Chiefs) - Éric Pelletier || New Entry

97. (S36) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Karl Hefeweizen || -42

96. (S39) C (Toronto North Stars) - Anders Christiansen || New Entry

95. (S36) RW (Texas Renegades) - Colton Hagan || -18

94. (S37) G (Seattle Riot) - Johnny Yuma || Returning Entry

92. (S31) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - Matthew Leetch || -70

91. (S33) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Zanarkand Abes || -40

90. (S33) C (Buffalo Stampede) - Viktor Vorkämpfer || +10
