New Alphas in New England

SHL GM Chief Chicken Officer We’ve entered into a new stage of the rebuild. We’ve essentially reloaded the chamber with the acquisitions of four studs in the S46 SHL Entry Draft. Names like Perry Morgan, Gordie Boomhover, Guy Zheng and Dick Clapper may not be on the Wolfpack roster for S46, but they’ll be here far sooner than some would expect. These are elite caliber prospects and we’re ecstatic to bring them into the fold. With that significant milestone draft behind us, the Wolfpack have turned to a new page.
Our tenured and universally loved captain Mia Landvik has hung up her skates and sailed off into the sunset of retirement. She won the Stevens Trophy in our eyes. We will miss Mia and cherished our time with her on the ice. Time waits for no man (or woman). With her departure, we need to look to the next player that will represent our team.
When the Pack selects a new Captain, it’s not chosen exclusively based on management’s preference. It’s a democratic process. The Pack have spoken, and the player that will be wearing the C on their chest for S46 and beyond is...
Manuel Gotze!
Manuel Gotze was selected by the New England Wolfpack in the S40 SHL Entry Draft in the first round, 11th overall. He plays a hard-nosed, physical style of play and is always willing to step up and defend his teammates. His game has come a long way in the past two seasons that I’ve been at the helm, and he’s always willing to lend his advice and partake in the major strategic discussions within the New England front office. I am thrilled with this selection, and honored that he will be the face of our franchise as we continue to move forward. Congratulations, @Mavfatha. You’re the face of the franchise up front and our captain.
For S46, our first alternate captain is none other than…
Rafe Ulrich!
Rafe Ulrich is the young Norwegian power forward that was drafted by the Pack in the S42 SHL Entry Draft with the 1st overall selection. His development has been rapid, and his ceiling is sky-high. He’s always having a good time in the locker room and is quite the Apex Legends player. Between Gotze and Ulrich, opposing blue liners cower in fear when they have to collect the puck and look for transition. Congratulations @Raven!
Our final member of the S46 leadership team is…
Johannes Leitner!
Johannes Leitner was selected by the with the 16th overall pick in the S43 SHL Entry draft. That may have been a second then, but today that’s a first round pick! It’s no easy task coming up from the Juniors arguably before you’re truly ready as a netminder, but Johannes Leitner stepped into this team as a rookie goaltender and brought a roster that not many saw as a playoff team into the postseason. He earned a nomination for the Jesster Trophy last season and unfortunately fell short, but he bleeds green and black and will do anything to help this team win. Congratulations @"AndrewWarren13"!
We’re excited about the promise that this season shows and we’re eager to closely monitor the development of our highly touted prospects. S46 is an exciting on for now and the future here in New England, and we can’t wait to get it started.
RIP Dangel. See you on the other side, brother
