S46 PT #3 - The Red Carpet

Before the release of new blockbuster movie Schindler Fist. Hippo was invited to Hollywood as one of his "friends" had starred in a scene. He accompanied her to the event. She is a smoking hot red head and looks like a 11 next to Hippo. His wide frame compared to her elegant form, it was truly a beauty and the beast type of deal. They met at a game in Los Angeles where she saw her home team Panthers get smashed and rookie Passamus with his unique form caught her eye. She initiated contact and one thing led to another.
Schindlers Fist was a film involving both cyberpunk costumes and birthday suits, as it was Hippo was wearing leather pants and Dr Martin's and a black net singlet. She an elegant leather dress with a long silk skirt. He looked kinda like a sewer rat and she like a rockstar.

Now the red carpet event happend very quickly as they walked into the event hall. As the strolled towards the doors from the limo Hippo stepped on her dress. Tearing it straight from her waist down. As it was a long dress she went commado. And lo and behold, the red carpet was revealed.

Hippo tried to salvage the situation by taking off his pants to but she was already helplessly embarrassed

With so many of his teammates eligible for big time rewards, Bobby Sharp along with most of the other Knight's rooks came out to support their teammates at the S45 SMJHL awards ceremonies. All 3 MVP nominees were Knights players so they felt like we had already won in a way. Several of them rolled up together in a limousine that Sharp somehow got out of paying for, and hit the red carpet with a swagger in their step. It didn't take long though for them to run into Scarecrows players, who instantly started chirping at them about what happened last post season. Sharp and his boys were swept by the Scarecrows on their way to a cup win, so they didn't have much to chirp back at them. By the end of the night though, the Knights "table was weighed down" with rewards, so the sting of the Scarecrows chirping subsided a bit. The boys went out to celebrate after, where Dick Clapper promptly went missing shortly after Sharp saw him talking to a large group of women. As usual, Clapper was the true winner that night.

A little known fact is that Crossfit Jesus is apart of the GQ Line, with his sleek style and fashionable taste, CFJ doesn't go to the arena to any award or party without being fitting by a GQ suit and GQ shoes. Maroon has always been one of CFJ's favorite colours and the no socks has been a recent trend into the formal attire in the sports world and in the entertainment world. He's walked many red carpets either with his girlfriend Sasha Banks, WrestleMania Parties where he's brawled with likes of HHH and nearly got his knee destroyed, the Shield showing up as a trio back in the hay day of the Winnipeg days when they would beat justice into other members of the SHL like Jack Durden. CFJ has been everywhere and anywhere with a suit on him fitting by GQ, as you rarely see him in Street attire, even that he's in GQ attire, everything is GQ for him. It's like he's GQ obsessed. I guess he really doesn't buying his own clothes either, aha.

Let's face it, a 20 year old kid doesn't exactly get hyped up about awards shows and red carpets. Honestly, most people don't. If anything, it's like this PT and something we're effectively forced to do in spite of any desire to. Luckily, Jax isn't really one to go along with being forced into anything.

Actually, if we take into account this is a hockey site and can use a hockey analogy, Jax is a lot like himself on the ice when it comes to off the ice. On the ice, he's hard headed in getting into the slot and forcing shots off as often as he possibly can. Off the ice, he mostly just mumbles shots at people he dislikes, but he's still very stubborn about everything he's being pushed into.

In this situation, while his dad may be telling him it's time to head out, he's not one to listen very well and instead refuses to get dressed. So going to a red carpet in sweat pants and a training shirt makes sense to him, after all the "who are your wearing" questions are some of the dumbest in the world. Nobody cares, and if they do, that's them. It must be a slow and boring day for them. Jax was busy training, working, doing. He's focused on getting better, preparing. He isn't going out to the red carpet unless he's required to because he's winning something.

Until that day comes, maybe he'll be out in his sweat pants, or maybe a pair of shorts and flip flops. But more likely, he'll be in the gym wearing shorts and a tank top and focusing on tomorrow more so than tonight.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

GOING DOWN IN STYLE. TOAST4LYFE

The red carpet experience for Donny McMasters is an uneventful one. Arriving on the red carpet and being dropped off in a black SUV, lots of reporters and photographers rush to the vehicle and are excited to see who will step out. As Donny steps out, he is quick to realize that no one recognizes him and the media crowd that was forming, quickly runs off to the next arriving vehicle. Wearing a black suit and blue tie, Donny walks down the carpet alone as he was not informed that he could bring a +1. Luckily a reporter from Lethbridge recognizes Donny and does a quick interview with him. Going into the auditorium, Donny was escorted by an usher and was sitting relatively close to the front. Unfortunately, he did not recognize anyone and no one recognized him and he sat quietly through the award show as he was not nominated for any awards this year.

After this experience, Donny vows to be a bigger name and a potential nominee for an award next year.

Wearing a vibrant red and white SUPREME suit, the man of the hour, I, Dick Clapper, with his abundant comma usage, stepped out of a deep blue lambo suv. Absolute waste of 200k, especially since you can purchase a much nicer car with less money, but what else am I supposed to waste my first contract on? This was my first time at an SHL awards show and I came all alone since I'm an absolute nobody. I was like a ghost walking through the buzz, nobody asked me any questions, which is understandable as I'm yet to play a single game up in the big leagues. I met up with a couple of my teammates from Kelowna and Team Canada WJC and after a bit of conversing with them, I went inside and took my seat near the back. Great experience overall and I can't wait to come back next year where hopefully I get a seat closer to the front!

Hitting the red carpet as a player or even a nominee is always a glamorous occasion. Some players love it and some players hate all the extra attention and flash, but there is no denying that an evening on the red carpet will mean that all eyes are on you and that a lot of people will be screaming for your autograph. Well things aren't quite the same for the people who actually vote on the awards, the members of the awards committee who usually are present at these ceremonies and therefore on the red carpet as well, but don't get nearly the same kind of love and attention. Well attention they do get, especially in the days leading up to the awards, after the nominee lists have come out, but it's not usually the attention you'd want. Open hostility and mockery by the people who feel that they or their teammates got slighted isn't just limited to the comment sections of the world, but often carries over to the red carpet as well. It can go all the way from some behind-the-back trash talk to open confrontations and even fistfights with dozens of cameras around and lots of happy reporters who just got their story for tomorrow!

Toivo Kosonen arrived at the awards show in unique style. Donning a black tuxedo and top hat, popping out of a horse drawn carriage, Kosonen made an interesting appearance. Kosonen did not hang out too long on the red carpet. He talked to some reporters about how things were progressing in the off-season, and about his season in Seattle. The struggles with the being over -20 plus/minus, and the desire to win another championship. He broke out the cellphone and updated twitter for the first time in a long time. Early in his career, twitter was a popular medium for hockey players, but has died down since then. The night was okay, would have been better with some Toivo Kosonen awards, but getting the points for predictions made the night a pleasant evening. After so many seasons, these awards shows begin to start blending together. There’s not really much innovation going on, so if you attend one, you’ve experienced it.

Alexis Metzler doesn't usually go to the SHL/SMJHL awards unless he's specifically been nominated for something (which has happened in several seasons, mind you). However, this time he chose to show up after being pushed to do it by the team coach, in order to support fellow team mates that had been nominated for awards. Metzler drove a rented BMW to a pay carpark near the show, and then walked the rest of the way to the front of the red carpet. He wore a fairly ordinary suit, ignored the reporters as he went down the red carpet (and fortunately, they ignored him this time, too). He sat at a table with the retiring Jordin FourFour Jr, and the retiring Viktor Vorkampfer, along with fellow veterans Charles Walker and Viktor Marius, and the recently retired friends Brynjar Tusk and Eduard Selich. They got appropriately plastered and went out the back door about 15 minutes before the show (but after all awards that Buffalo players were nominated for had been handed out), and went to the nearest burrito cart to stuff their faces.

When I hit the red carpet in the Simulation Hockey League I wear the exclusive Brand JY Suit Jacket, with some nice Grayish-Black Dress pants. I come along bearing gifts to all my Manhattan Teammates with some nice Gold Watched from my homeland of the Czech Republic. I pulled out of my moms Minivan because my other car broke down the day before. I was asked about how I am adjusting to Manhattan and I said that I am adjusting well both in the city and on the ice, as I am getting some really good opportunists on the ice with some great people. I sat in the same row as my Czech Brothers of Brady McIntyre, Alex Winters, and Barret McCarthy sat in the same row as me as we sat there for the stuff. I did not create any social media buzz because I am still a young person still trying to make my way in the simulation hockey league league.

Yoshimitsu McCloud ended up missing on the event, mostly because he didn't even know such an event existed, a result of his lack of knowledge of North American culture as a whole. Apparently, he spent most of the day helping kids out in the local orphanage before coming back home and listening to records with his sister, both apparently taking that as an opportunity to learn more about the new culture. They would, however, find about the event hours after it ended when they were checking the news while eating some really tasty tacos, a portion of food they weren't very familiar with but found out to be solid enough.

McCloud would spend the remaining hours of the day training via standing on the top of a tree with a single foot. This has no regards towards hockey talent, it's just something true Irish ninjas do to spend the time between dinner and nap time.

This was Guy Zheng's first ever red carpet event, and he arrived with the rest of the Kelowna Knights. He decided to go with a safe choice for his outfit, but encorporated a little flair. Zheng wore a velvet tuxedo jacket with normal tuxedo pants, paired with a crisp plain white shirt and a standard black bow tie. The team arrived spread between several limos, and Zheng emerged from a black hummer limo with his teammates Dick Clapper. He was approached for a quick interview by a reporter from Glutes Media, and the exchange went something like this:

Q: Guy, why didn't you come with a date?
A: What do you mean, my date's right here *signals to Clapper*. Bros before hoes is the unofficial team motto -- none of us brought dates so we could focus on supporting each other.

Q: Makes sense. You had a stellar rookie season but ultimately weren't nominated for any awards. Do you think you deserve to be a Rookie of the Year or Defenseman of the Year nominee?
A: I think I did well this season but not well enough to warrant being nominated for those awards. There were definitely some more deserving players in the league for both of those awards, including my teammate Karl.

Q: Thank you for your time and enjoy.
A: Thanks Glutes reporter.

Zheng then moved inside, where he sat with teammates Clapper and Sharp.
