Riding high from the adrenaline of winning a comeback game down 3 goals two days ago the Militia run into the ocean this time without a life preserver. It seems they weren't ready for this game! How does a team give up a goal in 4 seconds after the puck is dropped!? This has got to be some sort of record?? I was there to see it and still can not understand how it happened. Borromini Cannellini (that's a mouthful) wins the face off and the puck is perfectly placed on Cullen Grays stick. He skates up ice, shoots and scores, just like that beating Aleksi O'Koivu-Vokova on the glove side in the top corner. In my head, I hear the voice of the Montreal Militia's own Marty Lange telling everyone how he has just been cow kicked! The Vancouver Fans go wild as they have packed the house just like the Militia did less than two days ago. It seems these teams could be trading wins and losses for the entire season. Although when you look at the stats you have to worry a bit as Vancouver has scored awful fast against the Militia in their first 4 periods of play this year. It certainly did not take long for the crowd to give the Whalers the energy they needed as Miller scores at 6:43 and about 11 minutes later Jon Forty-One shoots and scores at 17:34 in the first period. Nobody can shut these fans up as they keep chanting the Militias goalies name over and over trying to get into his mind. A glimmer of hope came 17 seconds later as Kristoffer Svensson and Zarley Zalapski feed the Commander of the Militia for his third goal of the season cutting the lead down to 2! At the first intermission the Whalers seemed to have all the control leading 3 to 1 with the Fans never letting up with the chanting.

At 7:59 in the second period, Marc Hagan tries to end the party in Vancouver and scores another goal bringing his total up to 4 in 3 games! He also has 5 assists which leads the team and league in both categories for the time being. The Fans will not allow Marc and his hot streak to ruin their party as they seem to get even louder. I honestly did not think that was possible but they did seem to find another level. What can you say? Canadians just love this sport above all others. The game was played very clean by the Montreal Militia, only committing one penalty for the entire game. It seems that the Referees did not treat the home team so kindly giving the Militia every chance to get back into this game with a total of 4 Power Plays. Neither team was able to convert and when Theo Morgan scored for the Whalers to make the game 4 to 2 it proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Militia.

The third period was a snooze fest as the Militia never seemed to have enough gas in the tank. They only got off 10 shots on goal and only 24 shots on net for the game. It is pretty tough to win hockey games with that low of a shot count. The Militia had 2 Power Plays in the third period but just couldn't get good entry into the zone and seemed to be chasing the game from the get go. A goal against you in the first 4 seconds of the game will do that to you not to mention giving up the first 3 goals does not help. They made the effort but the Whalers refused to choke two games in a row to Montreal.

We caught up with the rookie, Zarley Zalapski, after the game but he wasn't in much of a mood to talk to us. He did state that he was happy the team is trusting him to be on the third line for defense and keeps playing him about 14 minutes per game. He had another assist for 2 now in his first three games and has a plus minus rating of +3 which he is happy with for the time being. He did let us know that he feels he needs more training, better equipment and above all else more TPE which he plans on making in the near future. We could tell that losing really seems to bother him and we let him hit the showers but will catch up with him real soon.
