Player Name: Troy Reynolds

1. Early Life

Troy P. Reynolds was born on a beautiful night on February 24th. Son of a loving mother and alcoholic douche of a father, Troy devoted his early years to his studies. He could add 2+2 with the best of them. Reynolds grew up in his hometown, on the mean streets of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. There, he saw things that would shape his life. He witnessed a man toss his cigarette out of his car. He witnessed a woman walk across the street without a crosswalk in sight. Reynolds himself stated that "watching the heinous crimes in my hometown play out scarred me. I was never the same person after watching her jaywalk. I'll always have to live with those memories." Reynolds would go on to join his school's hockey team, as a means of escaping the traumatic events that he had witnessed. His life of controversy began there, as he was well known to be a partier, whether he was invited or not. Reynolds gained a reputation that would follow him for the majority of his career for drinking, partying, use of narcotics and getting himself in trouble by talking too much.

2. Playing Career

Reynolds would tear up the Wisconsin high school hockey circuit. He would routinely make fools of the opposing players, before taunting them to his coach's dismay. "Reynolds is a fine player, but he doesn't know when to shut up and play hockey like a gentleman." Nonetheless, Reynolds' talent drew the attention of numerous scouts. US scouts wanted him to the USA-U18 club, but Reynolds refused. "I don't want to go play with a bunch of assholes who don't understand what it's like to have lived in the mean streets of Manitowoc. They've been pampered and protected their whole lives from the reality of the world. The men I play with today understand. They know what it's like. These are my people." Many of Reynolds' teammates were overwhelmingly confused, but were just happy not to lose their teammate. After years of dominating in Wisconsin, the SMJHL came calling. On the day of the S45 Draft, Troy Reynolds fell. He slid down the draft boards despite a strong showing at the Prospect Showcase. In the 6th Round, the Halifax Raiders made him stop waiting and selected him. Troy Reynolds was upset at the development of sliding down the draft, but was pleased to land in Halifax. Some believe his attitude and baggage caused him to fall. Either way, Reynolds proclaimed himself a new man and said he would cease being a distraction and called himself the opposite of a headache. "I'm more like Advil", claimed Reynolds. He proceeded to cause multiple distractions during the worst stretch in Halifax Raider history. In his rookie season, Reynolds only had 10 points and lived up to being a sixth round pick. Then in the playoffs, he turned it around and was the leading performer in the first round against the Anaheim Outlaws. Then came the most infamous of his many rants about other teams, the letter to Detroit. Many claims were made, many mistakes were made, and everyone was worse off for it.

Player Name: Sophia Bennett
2. Playing Career

After winning two four star cups with the Vancouver Whalers, Sophia Bennett was drafted 6th overall by the Los Angeles Panthers in the SHL. She joined the team in S37 and was named alternate captain in season 40 and the next season took the jump as the captain of the Los Angeles Panthers. She was a big part of the Panthers organization but the management knew it was time to move on and start to retool. Recently Sophia Bennett was traded after 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Panthers organization to the West Kendall Platoon. Since that trade Bennett has been over a point per game and looks like there is no slowing down. After the trade she signed a 3 year/15M contract to stay in West Kendall. It looks like there is no retirement in sight for Bennett as we found out in her latest interview she hasn’t even put a thought into it and will be staying in the SHL until they tell her she can’t. She has stated she is looking for a challenge cup and she won’t stop until she brings one to her home town in Edmonton.

Player Name: Ola Wagstrom
1. Early Life
Ola Wagstrom was born in Malmö, Sweden in 1992. His father had been a defenseman in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) for 11 years and played a big role in getting Wagstrom involved with the game. Wagstrom originally started out as a defenseman, but would switch to forward shortly after. He moved to Canada at the age of 13 and played in the GTMMHL, where scouts first started to notice him; he was selected 14th in the CHL Import Draft. He posted point-per-game numbers in all four of his OHL seasons, but went undrafted by any NHL franchise due to his short stature. KHL teams were more willing to take a chance on him, and he had a late growth sport that summer, blossoming to his current 6'3'', 213 pounds frame.

2. Playing Career
Wagstrom impressed beyond what had been expected in his first KHL season, finishing 3rd in goal-scoring in 2013 at just 21 years old. He was rewarded with a five year deal, but that his first season in Russia turned out to be his career high numbers; he still was a KHL All Star three times in those five seasons. Rather than re-signing in Russia, Wagstrom decided to pursue his dream of playing in North America, and entered the SMJHL entry draft.

He was selected by the Detroit Falcons first 13th overall, and played third line minutes on a deep team. Putting up only 11 points in his rookie season was not impressive, but the Winnipeg Jets saw something they liked and picked him second overall in the S44 draft class. Wagstrom rewarded their faith by flashing some of the skill he had shown overseas, tallying 38 points and tying the lead for goals on his juniors team with 19. He was called up in time to join the Winnipeg Jets for the S44 Challenge Cup finals, which they would go on to win.

S47 marks his third season in the league after two seasons in the majors; his first season was spent on Line 4 and resulted in an unimpressive 8 points. S46 marked significant improvement, as Wagstrom moved up to Line 2 and tallied 24 points. He has matched last season's total so far in S47 37 games in, and more than likely will set a new career high for points.

3. International Play
Wagstrom won the gold with Team Scandinavia in his first-ever WJC, where he was part of the team management. He has played for Team Sweden in all of his years, where the international squad has struggled immensely. He currently is listed as co-Head for Team Sweden, but has seemed to be disengaged from the national team in recent times.

4. Personal Life
Wagstrom has accumulated significant wealth through media deals, contracts, and sponsorships, and as such, he lives a glamorous lifestyle. He resides in a penthouse nearby the Winnipeg arena and has been spotted driving around multiple different sports cars. Wagstrom has yet to get married, but over the summers, he is known to return to Sweden to visit his family.

6. Controversy
While a second year player with the DEG Metro Stars, Darrow allegedly got into a physical altercation with veteran DEG goalie Hans Ylmech, three years his senior, during practice. Darrow allegedly punched Ylmech in the face during practice after Ylmech showed a halfhearted effort in a breakout drill. No team representatives would confirm this.

Days before the S44 SMJHL Entry Draft, Darrow courted some controversy with negative comments about the Montreal Militia, saying he would refuse to play for the Militia, citing the history of cultural prejudice in the city of Montreal. Later that season, Darrow and teammate Alexander Selich were asked to leave a “German” sausage house in Kelowna after Darrow began screaming at the owner over the quality of their food.

There have been many murmurs about verbal and physical altercations between Darrow and former Colorado center Zivan Zidek during S45. These rumors state that the Czech forward and first year captain frequently disagreed, both on and off the ice, sometimes escalating in practice to physical scuffles. They have not spoken since Zidek joined the Hamilton Steelhawks

Player Name: Manuel Gotze
3. International Play

Gotze has been a part of Germany's IIHF squad since the S42 tournament. In his limited time that first season, he only managed 1 goal and no other scoring across 10 games. His ineptitude continued in S43 when he once again played limited minutes in 10 games and contributed no scoring to the team. He was actually something of a star of the team the next season, tying for second with 8 points and leading the team with 36 hits while competing with several other strong offensive and defensive presences. The S45 tournament was an embarrassing one for scoring once again with only 3 points, though 30 hits led the team - this was followed with yet another 3 point, 30+ hits performance for the squad in S46. Though the team has reached the bronze medal game twice during his career, he has yet to claim any actual hardware thus far. Other than on the physical side of things, I'd have to say Gotze has been a disappointment to the team.

Former Teams: Port Moody Pooches

Player Name: Tibuk Soonika
3. International Play: Soonika's International play started with his home country of Canada. In his first WJC Tibuk took the reins as backup and provided invaluable water bottle and gate opening services. Canada would go on to win the Silver medal that year falling just short to team World. In his second WJC with Canada Soonika was successful and earned numerous accolades taking over as starter. Despite Soonika’s outstanding performance in the tournament Canada would eventually land in a disappointing Bronze position. With the WJC in the rear view mirror Soonika is looking forward to what is ahead. After leaving the Canadian roster he has found his new home in the Alpines of Switzerland.

6. Controversy:
Switching teams has not come without its adversity though. After leaving team Canada Soonika was met with hostilities from fans who were upset that their tournament MVP would just suddenly up and disappear. While understanding their concerns Soonika knew that there would be no future for a busy crease for Canada and so he chose to part ways...As it would turn out everyone felt the same way and now Canada is screwed. Hahahaha.

Coming from a family of professional hockey players, Winter started skating at an early age, putting on skates for the first time at the age of three and joining his first team shortly after his sixth birthday. He also dabbled with some other variants of hockey during his childhood, including field and indoor/hockey, Unihockey/Floorball and even Lacrosse, before settling on ice hockey and deciding to try and go the professional route just like his father and grandfather. Winter played for his local highschool both in Buffalo and after his familys move to LA and also spent time as a member of the Junior Panthers before going the major junior route and joining the SMJHL, where the Colorado Raptors picked him up 9th Overall. Winter spent three seasons with the Raptors but was traded to the St. Louis Scarecrows at the trade deadline of his third junior year, where he went on to win a SMJHL Championship, beating his former team in the finals. In the S43 SHL Entry Draft, the Los Angeles Panthers selected Winter in the first round, seventh overall, and he has been on the teams active roster since S45.

Player Name: Theo Morgan
1. Early Life

Growing up in Whistler, BC, Theo Morgan was surrounded by those who loved to ski. However, Morgan's fascination with hockey grew as he saw more of it as a young child. Amazed by the size, speed and skill of the players on the ice, Morgan wanted to give this sport a try. Morgan had an immediate liking to the game, and the skill with which he played the game was unmatched for anyone who had just picked up a hockey stick. Since he started playing at the age of 5, all the way up to the age of 12, Morgan was the biggest and best player in all of his teams. He was known around BC and when teams played him, they were very careful of him.

Schools were very conscious of him and all wanted him to join their program when he was growing up. Offered many scholarships and endorsement deals, Morgan was everywhere in BC. When he turned 15, his life would change forever.

Player Name: Jakub Aittokallio
2. Playing Career
Jakub joined the NWJHL's Detroit Falcons in S12 midway through the season as a somewhat sought after free agent, and following a short season as the starter in Detroit was drafted to the Edmonton Blizzard 9th overall. While the Blizzard went on to win the Challenge Cup in S13, Aittokallio was sent back to the St. Louis Scarecrows to hone his skills. Jakub followed up with an admirable rookie season in S14, to then set records in S15 as the starter for the Blizzard. He led the team to an all-time record in shutout minutes, the longest win streak since S4 and greatest winning season since S4. Aittokallio became the first goaltender in SHL history to win the Ron Mexico Trophy as league MVP at the time, while also gaining the John McBride Trophy, Mike Honcho Trophy and Anton Razov Trophy as playoff MVP leading his team to the Challenge Cup. The following season was a setback for the Blizzard, however the playoffs continued to be a point of success for Aittokallio again leading the Blizzard to win the Challenge Cup in S16. This would be the last he would win the Challenge Cup until becoming the first goaltender to win the Cup three times in S28. However, Aittokallio did make his name as one of the most clutch performers of SHL history, winning multiple Game 7s and finding himself with an over .940 save percentage in elimination games. While his regular season wasn't the most successful, his playoffs and international play show when the lights get brighter, Aittokallio takes over the show.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

Player Name: Reginald MacIntyre
Born: 21 January 1997; Inverness, Scotland, United Kingdom
Height: 6' 5"
Weight: 250 lb
Position: Defenseman
Shoots: Right
Current Team: Manhattan Rage
Former Teams: Halifax Raiders, Vancouver Whalers
National Team: United Kingdom
SHL Draft: S41 - 5th overall, Manhattan Rage
Player Career: S40-S41 (SMJHL); S42-Present (SHL)

1. Early Life

Reginald MacIntyre was born to a middle-class family in Inverness and was involved with the local shinty scene in his youth. On a holiday visit to Sweden, he insisted he be taken to a local club hockey game and immediately fell in love with the sport. Though his development was behind due to the late start and lack of local resources, MacIntyre took to the ice relatively well and found a niche as a big presence on the blue line and staying back on defense.

2. Playing Career

MacIntyre was drafted fifth by the Manhattan Rage at the S41 SHL Entry Draft. He stayed down one season in the SMJHL before he was called up to fill a great need in defense for the club. Despite being a frontrunner in several categories, the extra season difference was apparent between him and the candidates for the Ryan Jesster in S42. He had more of a personal breakout season in S43, scoring a career high 33 points for the Rage. He had since settled into his role as the physical presence and the first line against shots, taking a top 10 place in shot blocks in S42 and S46. His first postseason appearance in the SHL came in S46 with the Rage, making their first playoffs in a while and winning the inaugural Atlantic Division championship. He pulled decent numbers in his first postseason, contributing 9 points in their 12 games along with 32 hits and 15 blocks. Sadly, the Rage fell to in-state rival Buffalo en route to their first-ever Challenge Cup title.

3. International Play

MacIntyre started out of the gate before the SMJHL Draft as a member of the British Isles WJC team for the S39 tournament. He would gradually contribute more to the juniors squad as the tournament extended to more games in his three seasons in it, eventually earning WJC silver in S42 and bronze in S43. He also helped make an immediate impact on the senior squad for the United Kingdom as the team earned silver in his first season with them in S40 and their first-ever gold in S41. Having grown and made more of a difference on defense, he helped rally the Lions to silver in S46, falling short in the final to powerhouse Ireland.

4. Personal Life

MacIntyre is currently single, though had dated and engaged at one stage. The wedding was called off as MacIntyre found out two months into the engagement he would be marrying a "bridezilla who cared not for the burdens of constant back-and-forth travel imposed on my parents," he admitted in an interview for the New York Times. "She expected them to come to the United States every other week and constantly pressured them to just move here. I have not the faintest clue why."

Player Name: Guy Zheng
Born: Brighton, United Kingdom
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 215 lbs
Position: D
Shoots: R
Current Team: New England Wolfpack
Former Teams: Kelowna Knights
National Team: Great Britain
SHL Draft: S46, 15th Overall - New England Wolfpack
Player Career: S45-S46 (SMJHL); S47-Present (SHL)

1. Early Life

The son of two Canadian-Chinese immigrants to the United Kingdom, Zheng developed an early fascination with hockey when he would visit his grandparents in Ontario with his family in the winter months. He has fond memories of learning how to skate and clap bombs in the small rink in his grandparents' backyard, and soon he became one of the best youth hockey players in Brighton. Another contributing factor to his early hockey dominance is his interest in the video game Starcraft 2. In order to play the game with sufficiently high APM (actions per minute), Zheng would often perform wrist exercises in an attempt to increase his endurance and speed in mouse clicks and rapid keyboard presses. This would eventually lead to him having an almost super-humanly high grip strength and incredible wrist dexterity, which went a long way in increasing the power and accuracy of his shot on the ice as well as improving his dirty dangles.

3. International Play

Guy Zheng started his international career in the offseason of S45, when he played as the fourth pairing waterboy of the Team British Isles in the WJC. His playtime improved throughout the seasons, as he anchored the second pairing in his second WJC showing in S46, helping the British Isles finish in the 5-8th position. In his third WJC showing in S47, he was the star of the first pairing, and helped secure a 4th place finish for Team British Isles. He is currently hoping to make the senior Great Britain IIHF team in S48, where he may possibly be slotted into a forward position due to an abundance of Great British defensemen.

Player Name: Chico Smeb
6. Controversy

Chico has been in plenty of controversy since being drafted to the SMJHL a few seasons back. When he fell crazy far to 64th overall, his attitude became very hostile. He was so cocky heading into the draft thinking he was royalty coming from his father Chico Salmon, but teams frankly didn't care. Immediately he was put on the 3rd pairing for pretty much the entire season, this created many fights behind the scenes with Raptors coaching staff, some even becoming physical.

This is where the downfall started with his brothers. Daniel and Parker Smeb started to have enough of Chico's complaining on the team. This led to many fist fights where Daniel and Parker would get knocked out even 2 vs 1 against Chico. A film leaked from a bar of this happening where Parker and Daniel approached a cranky Chico at the bar by himself, they proceeded to get knocked out with a quick 1,2 from Chico and they never spoke again. This is believed to be the reason why Chico has refused to play with his brothers in Chicago and will instead play his career on the Dragons.
