The Militia had to battle back in the series as they lost the first two games on home ice. The team regrouped and forgot about the losses. All good teams have a knack for this to make a run for the Four Star Cup. It wasn't easy but they went into Kelowna in must win situation and were able to tie the series up heading back to Montreal. Coaches told us that they used the Latin Pharse: "Concordia Salus" or in French known as:"le salut par la concorde". In plain English, we know the phrase as: "Salvation Through Harmony" and the Militia seemed to have plenty of Harmony through the season but had lost it at the start of the playoffs. Coaches and management insisted on finding that "Harmony" once again so they could be saved! They started to do everything together as a team and it appeared to work. They came back home and won their first shut out of the playoffs 3-0! All they talked about, for the next two days, after that win, was ending the series on the road in Kelowna. They achieved that feat last night wining with a showcase of offense 5-2.

Recapping Game 6, for those reading, is my pleasure. Montreal was in early trouble, in a difficult environment as the Kelowna Knights struck first, at 4:36 of the first period to keep the crowd behind them. The Knights were obviously feeding off of their energy and came out buzzing like never before. They were able to capitalize on a turnover in the neutral zone. Big Fudge got his third goal of the playoffs and was assisted by Barry Batsbak and Aleksandr Scherbak. It seems someone was inebriated when they tried to spell Alexander. The Militia Fans all over Canada were a bit nervous. However, they knew if they lost this game, they still had another chance on home ice in the city of Montreal! Fortunately, that would not be necessary as Marc Hagan got the equalizer at 10:27 which quieted down the crowd. The Commander scored 26 seconds later and you could hear a pin drop. The teams went into the locker rooms, for a much needed rest, as the Zamboni resurfaced the ice.

Period 2 would be more trouble for the Knights as the Militia would go up 3-1 just 32 seconds in. Griffith Cadwalader would get his first playoff goal while Keegan Angello, along with Oliver Klozoff, would assist him. Klozoff has had some season and this was his 5th assist in 6 games! Angello wouldn't wast much time about 4 minutes later scoring at 4:57 to put his team up by 3 with a score of 4-1. The silence in the crowd was deafening, except for a few Militia Faithful who let their voice be heard. Not that it was over but the crowd certainly didn't like the situation. They got riled up, late in the second, as Vadim Malichov would get his 3rd goal of the playoffs. Fudge and Laliberte assisted him on the goal. Zach Laliberte has had an amazing playoff performance with 7 assists! The crowd was still nervous but they had some hope as the players went back to the locker rooms for the second intermission.

Unfortunately, for the Knight Fans, Herry Morris the Fourth would slam the door shut less than two minutes after the 3rd period puck drop. His goal came at 1:55 of the period and he was assisted by Cadwalader and Zalapski. Rookie Zarley Zalapski hasn't played very well in his first playoffs of his young career. He was expected to do more as he was one of the top Rooke Defensemen this season. This was his third assist but he has either been irrelevant or made some mental mistakes costing his team. His ice time has been cut more and more as the playoffs go on and has also been eliminated from the power play and penalty kill for the most part. This is his first time playing on this stage so some rookie jitters are expected. We expect better from him as the playoffs move forward. Goaltender AOV got upset and slashed one of the Knights. It seemed he was upset as Big Fudge crashed the net and ran over the goaltender in the process. Tempers flared from both sides and the refs finally got control back. The Knights were unable to convert on that power play and they never got another chance. The Militia played a sound, clean game for the last 15 minutes. They punched their ticket to the Semifinals and looked to hunt down Moby Dick in Vancouver!

In other news, the league leading Scarecrows, took care of business in Detroit beating the Falcons 8-3. They clinched their series and will face the Anaheim Outlaws in the next round. The series between the two fowl were mostly run and gun type of games that were high scoring affairs. The two clubs have never had any love for one another and the Outlaws are hoping to see a bruised opponent. Speaking of the Outlaws they swept the Lethbridge Lions and have had plenty of rest. Rest or Rust will be the question when they get the series started with Saint Louis. The Vancouver Whalers also swept their opponent. They sunk the fleet of Anchorage in Alaska no less. Fans were unhappy with the boats as they booed them out of the building. They were unhappy that the team was unable to score a goal and got shut out 2-0 losing the series 4-0. The Whalers will travel to Montreal to battle for entry to the Four Star Cup Final and it should be a good match up as both teams do not like one another.
