Hmm, I have a tendency to miss one or two players here and there. Since I am the only one who really adds people each season there isn't a lot of oversight in that regard.

Will have you on next season's ballot, though.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

The Red Carpet has been rolled out and limos have begun to roll up Randolph to the luxurious Cadillac Palace Theatre. Who will grace us with their presence tonight on the S47 Hall of Fame Pre Show?

Good evening and welcome to the SHL's S47 Hall of Fame Ceremony! My name is Niklas Wikstrom, and I am honored to serve as your Master of Ceremonies tonight.

To start, I would like to welcome you to the beautiful Cadillac Palace Theatre in downtown Chicago, Illinois. My, what a great venue this is, ladies and gentlemen. I couldn't imagine a better city in the world than Chicago in the summer, and I'm sure the fans agree. The summer is a great time to be a Chicago Syndicate fan, because its the only time of the year they don't have to watch their hockey team lose game after game after game. Thank you Chicago for playing such a great host to us this weekend.

Additionally, a congratulations is in order for the West Kendall Platoon, who lifted their franchises' fifth Challenge Cup in their 47 seasons of existence. I guess West Kendall realized that they only need to be relevant every forty seasons in order to stave off talk of relocating to a city who's greatest landmark isn't the strip mall next to the Red Robin.

Although I could spend all night taking jabs at the players who are much better off than I, we'd be remiss if we did not take a chance to think about why we have gathered together here tonight. As the SHL crawls ever-so-slowly towards fifty seasons of excellence as the top league of its kind in the world, it is apparent now more than ever how much things have changed since the league's inception. Players now come from all corners of the globe, play the game in a very different and unique way, and play for teams who have gone from community rink clubs to full-blown businesses, and more importantly, fixtures in our day-to-day lives. While the game may look different today than it did in the league's infancy, we can still find a way to memorialize the players, coaches, and management who have not only contributed to the greatness of our sport, but have transcended what it means to be great. Many great players take the ice in this league, but I am living proof that not every one of them can stand amongst those who have not only excelled, but changed the game. That is what makes a great player a Hall of Fame-r.

Players in the Hall were faces of their franchises. They played critical roles in the moments that make of the memories of our game. Enshrined on Challenge Cups, in team record books, or on individual trophies, these players made a lasting impression on not just the league, but the fans who have made this league their own. As we celebrate many careers during our ceremony tonight, do not forget that the players we induct tonight stand too on the shoulders of giants. They stood alongside many of us in this room and taught us what the game could be. They inspired hope in communities, and drove dreams of our youngsters. As we took a chance to look at the future yesterday with the SHL draft, and saw a glimpse of what could be, let's take a moment to recognize the shoulders those players will stand on for seasons to come.

Without further ado, let us begin.
