What is this?

The 2nd Annual SHL History Week Contest.

I plan to do an edition every season

This will essentially be a SHL History writing contest.

Hit me up if you can come up with a snazzier name.

What's new?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the SHL HO on funding, so for now we continue under last season's system, but I won't be able to fund it for a third edition myself, so donations/sponsorships are appreciated!

As usual, please hit me up if you any suggestions/questions!

What's in it for us?

Cold hard cash

I got a pile o' money and I don't plan on recreating.

Prizes up for grabs:
Best in Show - $1M per entrant
Best of the SHL - $1M per entrant (Currently $1M)
Best of the SMJHL - $1M per entrant
Best of the IIHF - $1M per entrant
Best of the rest (miscellaneous) - $1M per entrant
People's Choice - $1M per entrant

Awards and amounts subject to change, as anyone who'd like to add an award and throw in their own money to the pool, hit me up!

I will update this as the contest week progresses to reflect the amounts due to entrants joining as well.

How do I enter?

Easy: just PM or tag me on the site or on Discord with a link to your entry, so I know it's official.

It can be something you've already written, or it can be something new.

If you're wondering what we're looking for, Here's a link to the History Book.

In short, you can write whatever you want.

It can be first-person, or third-person.
It can be an account, or a report.
It can be an overview, or a brief.
It can be in-character, or out-of-character.
Yes, it can be about on-site topics as well.

Everything from a site retrospective to a Players' Tribune-type first person account.

Right now all awards will be decided by judge ballots, save for People's Choice, which will be by on-site poll.

The best and most impactful entries deemed by the judges will be added to the SHL History Book.

The Deadline is August 29th at 9PM Eastern
