I PUT THIS ONE IN EVERY SEASON BUT IT'S FINALLY NOT A JOKE - CAMERON CARTER II WILL WIN THE DAR AWARD

For, Cameron has been excellent this year, point per game with most hits in the league! +/- rating of +16 on top of that, dominating player and great example of what kind of effect a heavy hitting player can have in games!

FOR

Which is a surprise tbh. As of right now, I would say it is the Specters and the Blizzard, and that is not being biased to any other teams because I play for NOLA. But I am surprised because of the amount of success the Steelhawks have had and the turnaround from the Barracuda. Tampa Bay was a force last year and the sim isnt being very nice to them. Because of that, NOLA and EDM are taking advantage
The S51 Challenge Cup finals will be New Orleans vs. Hamilton
AGAINST - Edmonton will lock things and get to play the hero that reminds Hamilton that cheating is not the American simulated way. New Orleans is sexy and tough, but doesn't have as studly of a head-to-head record against Edmonton.

The S51 Four Star Cup finals will be Carolina vs. Anchorage
FOR - Trella is going to win the double cup this year. Wrapping up the Challenge cup with Edmonton during his final season, and going all out for the Four Star as the GM. Spinzone: Trella tanks and sells the farm so that next seasons efforts are twice as good, sparking another hall of fame career in Ambacas.

The two best teams in the league are both from the Western Conference
FOR - edmonton and new orleans are two talented and steamy western conference foes, both with 63 points in the standings, 8 above those pass haters in hamilton. they have brutalized the rest of their conference, as the third place dragons would not even qualify for a playoff spot in the east.

The West Kendall Platoon are having the luckiest season in recent memory
FOR - second place in the standings, but more than 6 times worse than the 8th place teams differential. theyve been blessed by an incredibly week atlantic division. some might whine that this is an indicator for a new playoff format, but the purists know that the chaos of post season is the juiciest cut of them all.

Two Tucks will win individual awards for the Blizzard this season
FOR - blindy voting for edmonton players! the goalie and defensive unit have been amazingly solid all season, allowing the fewest goals of all teams in the league. Tommy is catching a mean 92% of shots on net, and Tor has been playing enough of a 2-way game to lead the league at +24, while being involved with 50 points, still with 9 games to play.

Three recent retirees - Dani Forsberg, Tigole Bitties, and Teddy Cuddles - will all make the Hall of Fame
FOR - i was less familiar with forsberg than the other two legends, but a quick search of his accomplishments (2x 1st All-Star Team (S44, S45), 3x 2nd All-Star Team (S42, S43, S47), 2x 3rd All-Star Team (S41, S46), All-Rookie Team (S37), 3x Challenge Cup (S40, S43, S47), 2x Jeff Dar Trophy (S43, S44), 1x Jay McDonald Trophy (S45), Ryan Jesster Nominee (S37), 2x Ron Mexico Nominee (S43, S44), 1x Anton Razov Nominee (S40)) means he's a lot closer than i previously thought he was. i still cant forgive him for sewering my fantasy team a few seasons ago, though.
Three recent retirees - Dani Forsberg, Tigole Bitties, and Teddy Cuddles - will all make the Hall of Fame

For; I'm not going to go back and look at stats of these 3 players but I can say, as someone that isn't as super active on the site as others, these are 3 names that have been coming up for awards, top fantasy picks, and other shit, ever since I joined the league back in S42. So yes, these 3 should absolutely all get into the HoF at some point or another.
The S51 Challenge Cup finals will be New Orleans vs. Hamilton

AGAINST: While I do believe there is a good chance this could happen, you have to think that when it comes down to the playoffs and a 7 game series anything can happen. Also, when faced with the option to take every other team and 2 specific ones, I'll take the odds and take everyone else. Not to mention, NOLA will have to go through a very tough Edmonton squad if they want to get to the finals. The east also has some sleeper teams who could make quite a bit of noise come playoff time.

Sour skittles are better than regular skittles

Against: Sour skittles are worse than the regular ones. If you look at it in terms of sales, regular skittles always sell more, why because more people enjoy them. The sour one also has a weird texture to it and makes my mouth feel sore.
Sour skittles are better than regular skittles

AGAINST!

Every single time I want to taste the rainbow I always go for the regular skittles, and I'm never disappointed. However, the sour skittles only apply to those one off moments where you want something sour, but they're not good for every time and that's why the regular skittles wins for me.

I think the standings speak for themselves in this one. NOLA and EDM both clinched a playoff spot with at least 10 games left in the season. Hamilton does have a 9 point lead on the rest of the east but the 3rd place team is at least 17 points behind second and 19 behind 1st. The have been dominant this season without a shadow of a doubt.

BS!

Normally I would agree with practically anything SpartanGibbles says but this time I cannot. Yes, you did pick one of the better topics, and yes the two best teams are in the West- but you forgot to include the VERY best team and that's the Los Angeles Panthers. Let me tell you why- first of all, we're loaded with talent. Second of all, we have the most badass branding. Third of all, we live in the best city. Fourth of all, we'll eat your face.

Panthers

I think the only team that's really challenged these two this season is Edmonton, who are currently tied with New Orleans atop the West Conference. I wouldn't completely count a lot of the east out but betting on a New Orleans v Hamilton finals feels like a good bet right at this moment.
Quote:The West Kendall Platoon are having the luckiest season in recent memory

For. Looking at their stats I have no idea how to explain the fact that they have 22 wins. Every single player has a negative +/-, they're getting heavily outshot in every game, bojo has a .911 sv% which is good but not great, their special teams are league average, and even if you consider that MAN, NEW and TBB have struggled this season, it's still very surprising to see WKP leading the division.

Against. Any future without EDM in the finals is one I can not stand. New Orleans are a great team. One that is at the top but I think Keygan can pull out one more finals appearance with this squad before Teddy Cuddles leaves. The sim likes EDM more than NOLA anyway.

against. while I love me some tigole bitties the position swap halfway through his career makes it difficult to place him in the hall. forsberg is a lock. cuddles will get in eventually, but I doubt he's a first ballot guy.

B.S. ON BOTH COUNTS. First of call, your against doesn't make since saying tropical skittles because the statement isn't that sour are the best ya goof. But tropical are hands down the worst. If somebody gave me tropical skittles I would flush them down my toilet so nobody else had to eat them.

Now, onto the HOFers. I am only going to argue on behalf of Teddy Cuddles and the status of his first ballot HOF entry. Cuddles will definitely make it. When the city of Edmonton was burned to the ground at the hands of those creampie lobster lovers from Boston and their Ace saboteur, Teddy Cuddles rebuilt the city block by block and gave hope to the whole community. And none of that even considers the fact that he tore the league a new one for like, 20 years or whatever it was.
"The two best teams in the league are both from the Western Conference"
Hands down, easily. Look at the standings. Both the teams in the Western Conference that rank 1/2 in that conference, also do so in the SHL. The Edmonton Blizzard, who currently sit 2nd in the West, lead the Hamilton Stleehawks by 8 points. Double checking, you can say the same thing about New Orleans as they also roll through the season right now with 63 points. Offensively, all 3 teams are big this season but for Hamilton, their goaltending hasn't been as strong (as seen by the GA).

Done. The End.
The S51 Four Star Cup finals will be Carolina vs. Anchorage
