Why do PTs close at 10:00 EST instead of midnight? Is there any logistical purpose?

I’ll take this one!... it’s easier for someome to be around in the pt department at 10 pm eastern to close the task and not have to deal with as many human error issues..  i.e missing someone posting past the deadlines.



Note: I don’t work in pt so if this is not a good enough answer, fight hotdog and friends... 

long answer: I thought about this a couple weeks ago and thought about changing it to midnight because 10pm is a kind of arbitrary, non-landmark time, and then I thought well midnight ET would be equally arbitrary and non-landmark to anybody not in Eastern time zone and nobody's ever complained or mentioned it so who really gives a shit i'll just leave it as is

short answer: it was 10pm when I took over as PTD so I just kept it as 10pm

resolution: I can change the deadline to be 11:59pm moving forward lol

It’s sucks getting home from work at 7 and realizing tasks are closed, yes I could have done them earlier in the week but that’s too sensible.

Can you change it to midnight GMT+1?

Maybe close them same time that AC gets closed? Midnight pacific, if you have someone who can close them at that time, at europe it is already monday morning so don't think it should be too hard to find someone to do it.

can you change them to a rolling closed based on 11:59 for every timezone, depending on waht timezone you live on.
should be easy plz and thanks.

Have you thought about never closing the PT's so people can just do them whenever they feel like it?

Logical enough answer for me. I honestly hadn't realized it was 10PM until last night when I had mine typed up and couldn't submit it 8 minutes after. I think it would help if things closed at the same time, but now that I know it is what it is.

undo that knowledge; i'm gonna move it back 2 hours per your suggestion

please accept tors pt as 8 minutes late is reasonable enough. if not i vote for firing pt department
