1st period
Armada started very powerful and in first period started with two goal lead. At 11:14 Mitchell van der Heijden opened the game with a goal, but at 13:41, rookie Matthew Sawful, doubled the score by getting his first goal. Both teams had somegreat chances to score, but Falcons just couldn't use their opportunities. Armada had 10 shots after first period, but Falcons 8, which proves that first period was really close shot wise, but not in the score. Armada was just more lucky and used their opportunities. Falcons really struggled with scoring in first period and not only in the first one...

2nd period
In second period, both teams played more ''neutral zone hockey''. There was a lot less offensive possesions by both teams. Both goalies had to rest in this period. Falcons had opportunities in powerplay, but Armada penalty kill was just an unbeatable force. Armada even didn't let them score in 5v3 situation. Armada had really good penalty kill. If they could keep up this type of penalty kill, they could put other SMJHL teams in pretty big danger. Armada had 16 shots after 2nd period, but Falcons - 14. Falcons didn't had their best period and didn't use their opportunities once again. They needed to focus before third period!

At 17:05, Falcons forward Cassidy Lhotsky scored Falcons first goal and at 17:54, JmMac NCheese burned their deficit - 2:2! Falcons went ''all in'' in third period and that payed off. Overtime & Shootout
It was feeling that Falcons were already thinking about getting victory. There was a feeling that their heads where somewhere else. Falcons goalie had to step up. A. Jobin saved all 7 Armada shots. Armada didn't score and played well in offense, but that wasn't enough to win in overtime. Falcons had only two shots and that was it - still 2:2 and first shootout!
Shootout from both teams were really quiet. This was a glow up game for both goalies, because they played pretty well full game. But one team needed to win and Mitchell van der Hejden stepped up again. He scored goal on Armada second shootout attempt and burned all Falcons hopes to get two points. He was very professional at his shootout and had no competition. Excellent deke and puck was in the net, which allowed Armada to get a victory over Detroit Falcons.
