Hey everybody - New England Wolfpack reporter Doingo McCuck here with a special announcement regarding the on-ice leaders for the S55 New England Wolfpack. With the previous captains moving on to new homes elsewhere in the league, the team was excited to get the chance to nominate and select new leaders to carry the Pack forward this season.

Captain - Slap McShotty - @bbjygm

Slap McShotty is the unquestioned leader of this squad, holding it down as the keystone center on both offense and defense. bbjygm's contributions inside the NEW locker room have been absolutely incredible and the team is thrilled to bestow the well-deserved captaincy upon him. A true playmaker on and off the ice, McShotty will proudly wear the C this season. Expect him to be part of a high-flying first line alongside Bruchevski and Stinko the Weasel this season.
Alternate Captain - Sven Yxskaft - @kenvald
[Image: litkFpt.gif]
A rookie who will be lacing up the Wolfpack Green & White for the first time this season, Yxskaft has established himself as a cornerstone of the franchise, reflected in his being voted captain in his rookie season in the SHL. kenvald rocks and has already been a valuable contributor to the franchise without playing a single game yet. Yxskaft will be seeing big minutes this season and has been working hard with the coaching staff to ensure he's ready for his debut - expect Sven to factor into the Rookie of the Year discussions at the end of this season. Yxskaft also looks badass on a jersey so I'm sure many fans will be purchasing this one until we decide to re-re-re-design the logo and render those ones obsolete.
Alternate Captain - Mitchell van der Heijden - @bluesfan55

Another newcomer who'll be making his NEW debut in Season 55, Mitchell van der Heijden came over from the New Orleans Specters in an offseason trade. Rare to see someone just acquired be named an alternate captain already, but MvdH has shown he has what it takes to lead on the ice, highlighted by scoring the Challenge Cup-winning goal in Game 4 vs. the Hamilton Steelhawks. bloos has been an enthusiastic add to the locker room since his acquisition and the team is excited to see him become a superstar in the very near future!
Locker Room Captain (fake position) - Sacha Dangelchek - @acdangel
[Image: t7eJgzO.gif]
This recognition goes more to Dangel than to Dangelchek and is entirely made up but nonetheless noteworthy. Dangel is a beast in the LR and can always be counted on to make the locker room a lively, talkative, and exciting place. When asked for a comment, dangel said "I've got a huge update coming next week, believe me."
McShotty, Yxskaft, and van der Heijden - the trio that'll be wearing letters for the Wolfpack this season. I was told that Frans Eller was considered but no one would be able to see the letters behind his pads; Eko van Otter was also considered but he was too small for a letter to fit on his jersey or he wouldn't give up his jersey and was too slippery and got away from the sewing machine or something idk whatever.
All* (*some) eyes will be on the Wolfpack this season and the team with a bright future is happy to be chilling in the present.
Until next time,
Duck McSuck or whatever i said earlier i forget
hotdog's note: I've seen media sleeping on us this season, and it makes sense - we traded away several huge names, of course we'll be taking a step back. I think those people underestimate the depth we had and the talent still remaining on the roster, so we're excited this season to establish ourselves at the absolute top [of the non-playoff teams] in the East.
With that, I now personally guarantee that our performance will surprise* some people this season!
*(If we do kind of well it'll be the people that think we'll be really bad who we'll surprise; if we're pretty bad, it'll be me whomst is surprised; if we do exactly average, there will still be some people surprised because I saw some people in season predictions predicting that we would have the fewest points in the whole league - I think my guarantee is therefore safe. If not, my guarantor @Ace will give away up to three third round picks to cover my guarantee)

Lastly, thank you to @sulovilen for the sick new NEW team sigs and thank you to sugar daddy Ace for the hookup.
reading this article is like a game where you have to read as many words as you can before the glitch in the sig shows up then take a tiny break and try to reset your focus and read more words again before the next one
Ilike
Some fire sigs!

Not sure it's been mentioned, but did you know bloos got the cup winning goal in the finals last season? He must have been proud when he, bluesfan55, scored the game winning goal against Hamilton to secure the S54 Challenge Cup. So excited to have his "scoring championship goals" talent in our lineup to replicate his game winning goal in last season's final playoff round. I'm glad he's my alternate, though I'm sure it's dwarfed by his other accomplishment of scoring the winning goal against Hamilton to earn the Challenge Cup with a sweep.

Did he (bluesfan55) really score the cup winning goal against the Hamilton Steelhawks in the S54 Challenge Cup finals, in his final game as a New Orleans Specter? I didn't even realize until now!
