"#15 Overall the Los Angeles Panthers Select,

THEO MORGAN, W Vancouver Whalers!!!!!!"

That was the announcement made on the night of the Season 47 SHL Entry Draft. Wasty, GM of the Los Angeles Panthers, stepped up to the podium and announced me as his first selection of the night. If was a great feeling being drafted in the first round. Especially as someone who joined his draft class late and signed as a Free Agent, it was validation that I still had what it took to be a good contributor to an SHL team, even after a long hiatus away from the league.

I spent 6 seasons playing for the Panthers (8 total seasons spent in the system), and every season I improved and the team continued to get better. We turned in to one of the teams to beat and made it close to winning it all.

Being traded from the team that drafted you is never something anyone imagines when they're starting off their career. When the Panthers took a chance on me in the Season 47 Entry Draft, I wanted to win that team a cup. 6 hard fought seasons in the gorgeous Californian sun, and now I find myself way up north in the cold province of Alberta. While this trade was something that may have shocked a lot of people outside of the organization, it was something I was prepared for. I spoke with both Wasty and Mook about my intentions moving forward, but knew that this could be my last chance at a cup with the Panthers. That was always the goal, and the off season started out as this would be the run of a contending team and would hopefully end the cup drought in LA that has plagued the organization.

I didn't want to leave the team in a bad spot, and so I told them that if they decided that moving me was the best option for the team I wouldn't be against it and would be more than happy to help the team recuperate assets for me. I said this thinking if the season went sideways they would trade me at the deadline (hopefully to a contender) and I would get a chance at a cup before hitting the open market. Things didn't play out that way and I was moved out prior to the season beginning. I'd like to thank the Panthers organization for taking a chance on me and helping me improve as a player. They worked extremely hard to not only make the team great, but to help me become better.

If you've read this article til here, or maybe the just the title, yes I will become a Free Agent after the conclusion of Season 55. This was always my intention, and the Blizzard staff were aware of this prior to acquiring me and my teammates. This is not to say that I haven't enjoyed my time with Edmonton so far (I have, it's a great locker room filled with great teammates), but I want to see where I may fit on a roster before ultimately deciding where I sign my next contract. I will not go out of my way to start ranking every team and what I like about them. There may be a fit on a team I didn't know about, so I'm leaving all of my options open.

I've done this because I'm bored and figured I would make a little bit of SHL cash in my free time because why not. This isn't a press conference and I don't know why anyone would want to ask me a question, but if anyone does have a question, then feel free to ask me one. If not, I'll be more than happy to have this article die out and collect my money when the payout is made.
Best of luck in free agency and this season man!
