Thank you all for joining us tonight over video chat for the Season 56 induction of our new members of the Hall of Fame. It's so nice to have you all here, and I hope we have a fantastic night
We just want to quickly recognize the phenomenal effort put forth by the winners of the league this season.

Steelhawks Congratulations on winning the Season 56 Challenge Cup, asserting yourselves as one of the premier teams of the 50s

Whalers and to the Vancouver Whalers knocking off the big mean Berserkers, congratulations this is only the beginning for all you young players there

And we would be remiss to not bring up the win by Team Canada Canada in this years World Junior Championship, phenomenal job there. I’m sure we are all waiting with baited breath on the IIHF tournament results for Season 56
As always, the Committee performs a ranked choice voting system. Each player had to receive 35 votes from the committee to be inducted in. This year 7 different players received votes from the committee, but only 3 surpassed that 35 votes mark.
We should take a moment to recognize some of the phenomenal names who received votes, but unfortunately, did not surpass the required 35 votes to make it into the Hall
Cory Knouse - 1 vote

Cory Knouse received 1 vote this year in their bid to make it into the Hall of Fame. Cory played in 850 games, scored 278 goals, 385 assists, and had 1227 hits in their 17 year career spanning time between both Edmonton and Seattle. A 5th overall pick to Seattle in Season 32, Cory fulfilled expectations of their draft position, however, much of their success came while donning an Edmonton Blizzard jersey. Knouse notched two 51 point seasons back to back in Season 45 and 46 to add to an illustrious and long career. Knouse has two more seasons on the ballot to gain the necessary 35 votes, let’s see if they do it next year!

Retired Mike Izzy gets off his jet and into his reserved seat at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
Trevor Wilson - 6 votes

Another Seattle Riot selection from the early 30s, Wilson was drafted 7th overall by Seattle in Season 31, and came into the league quickly, and with a bang, making the SHL in Season 32. Eventually moved on to WKP and finally TBB to end their career, Wilson was a figurehead in the SHL for 20 seasons, making it to Season 51. Longevity alone is strong with this candidate. During that time they racked up 1000 GP, 341 G, 412 A. He won 3 Challenge Cups (S41, 43, and 47) all with the West Kendall Platoon. Wilson, a lot like Knouse, still has a few seasons of eligibility left, so we will watch their battle to get in the Hall with great interest
Alex Light - 25 Votes

Another Season 31 draftee; however, Light is one of the lower draft picks in our list. Light was picked up in the third round at 39th overall, and absolutely blew all expectations out of the water. Light would go on to put up 900 games in the SHL, potting 331 goals and 395 assists. A West Kendall staple throughout their entire career, Light was able to win Challenge Cups galore playing alongside our previous nominee Trevor Wilson. Cup wins in S41, 43, and 47 cap off an illustrious career that Light had in 900 games.
