Good day, Northerners, it is I, your Keyboard Warrior reporting in for the first time. Luffy Richard has left the humble home of the Vancouver Whalers and begins his first season here in the Simulation Hockey League. This season brings big changes for the former Whaler forward who will now be playing defense for the North Stars. How will this transition go? It is sure to be an exciting season, but one with major growing pains for Luffy who has had an unconventional journey to get him to this point. The Cup champion is far behind many of those in his draft class, but he is determined to make a splash.
the first game of the day Saw the North Stars visiting the Hamilton Steelhawks. The North Stars found themselves outshot twenty-four to thirty-eight as well as outhit twelve to nineteen with Luffy Richard chipping in two hits and a shot on goal, but was a minus-one for the contest.
Richard saw a minute of penalty kill time, and fourteen minutes on the ice overall in this four to one loss to the Steelhawks.
The second game saw the Winnipeg Jets fly into Toronto. Once again, the North Stars were outshot by the Jets thirty-five to twenty-four, but tied in hits at fifteen.
Luffy Richard chipped in two blocked shots, a hit, and an assist in this two to four victory, as well as finishing a plus-one. He received less ice time this game, but still saw moments on the penalty kill. It looked like Richard was comfier out on the ice after getting first game jitters out of the way.
All in all, it wasn't the worst performance he has ever put on. He still needs a lot of work, but Luffy Richard is here to put in the effort.
