The Detroit Falcons lost a tough one today with an OT loss to the Vancouver Whalers. Vancouver was able to get an early lead, but it certainly was not safe. The second period was a slug-fest with a total of six goals being scored. However, the last two goals, one in OT by Ivo Williams gave Vancouver the final edge.
I was able to catch up with Steven Esposito after the game.
So Steve, what happened tonight?
"Well, I think we could have played better. Whenever you lose, you could have played better. Obviously you never want to lose like this."
Any comments on your inability to record a point in the recent games?
"I am in a slump. Simple as that. I need to continue to work hard and keep doing what I am doing. Luckily we have had other guys that have been able to bury the puck."
Do you think you will come out of this slump soon?
"I feel like I could. I have not been doing anything differently, same play style, same routine, but I just don't know. I am sure things will pick up soon."
Ok, thanks for your time Steve.
"No problem Jim."
From my recent interview with Esposito, I believe he is still confident in his play-style. He seems like he will be able to overcome his slump soon.
