Simulation Hockey League

Good evening everyone! I've been looking forward to this day for a couple of weeks now and I am excited to finally be able to share the branding of my team with the rest of you. It has been a long process for me effectively starting at the last expansion where I threw my hat into the ring but ultimately lost out to two very deserving people in Tig and Hotdog. While I have also tried my luck with other SHL management jobs since then my ambition has been to have a crack at building up a team from scratch. With the latest expansion I have that opportunity and many thanks to head office for giving me the chance.

In terms of Philadelphia I have to be honest and say that of my submitted cities it was not my first choice. However after agreeing the location with Nour and Luke I set about researching and gradually started to fall in love with it. Hockey-wise the Flyers are an iconic team within the NHL being the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup outside of the original six era as well as having historically signifcant periods with the Broad Street Bullies and Legion of Doom. While perhaps not quite on the level of Montreal it is a shame that Philadelphia has gone unrepresented in the SHL until now.

My branding tries to encompass the cultural and historical significance of the city. Philadelphia is integral to the forging of the United States as a country and has remained an important hub throughout its history. It also nods towards the cities industrial past as well as the international melting pot that makes up Philadelphias diverse African American, European and South American communites.

Before I post the branding I would like to extend my thanks to a few people that very generously gave their time and considerable skills to help make my ideas a reality. Firstly a huge thanks to @DrunkenTeddy who did all the logo work and put up with my umming and arring around what the original concept would be. Thanks to @SlashACM for knocking out the unis on extremely short notice and doing a great job to boot. Thanks to @nour and @"luketd" for being a sounding board for logos, concepts, unis and branding in general as well as running a really tight application process and thanks to @Ragnar for the inaugural team signature. Finally a special thanks to my homie @hotdog for helping me through the application process and pointing out where I could do better and probably being a pivotal reason for my application getting accepted in the first place.
