With the two expansion teams being being more west than east, I propose a complete conference realignment:

North Conference
Northwest
Anchorage
Vancouver
Kelowna
Saskatchewan

Northeast
Québec
Newfoundland
Maine

South Conference
Southwest
Anaheim
Nevada
Montana
Colorado

Southeast
Detroit
St. Louis
Carolina
JURT is good and his ideas are good

This has been my professional opinion.
Up is down, right is left. Nothing to see here.
Did you just leak the new team????
did you just leak the second expansion location lol

He told everyone on HTT, though. Not a leak.

Now if people start dropping branding, different game

Edit: said on HTT he's going to Regina
Considering that the divisions with 3 teams auto qualify for the playoffs I would argue the constantly good teams should be in the groups of three and the teams that seem to love dwelling in the cellar should be in the fours.
His name is not Le Spoils for nothing. smh mh my head.

or go 7 team conference 8 team playoff

We polled the J GMs and this was a less than popular option compared to 12 teams making playoffs

Yes, when each team was not aware specifically what division they would be in. I think its fine the way it is, but unless divisions are shuffled each season you kinda have to throw out any future argument about each team making the playoffs being important.

What about 8 team playoffs, division winner and then 2 wild cards from each conference. Make the playoffs special again.

I mean it would do that but it might hurt having the long down time (make IIHF and WJC more open on the site!) and its not a great position for HO to be in 14 teams sucks with the options given. But back when we had teams in the J eliminated it was one per conference. With this format (the only one they have) two divisions auto qualify and two have one team eliminated. So to make an argument that playoffs affects retention they need to rebalance divisions each year, or else they are arbitrarily giving 6 teams a competitive advantage.
